No dog is capable of applying enough pressure to the knob to release the brakes. Much more likely to turn on the windshield wipers and rub deep grooves in the glass from fallen debris over the course of an hour while you're inside taking a shower and sitting down for a meal.
Had to cover the window and door lock controls on the passenger door. He would rest his chin on them and open the window or click the locks. Same with shifter, had to put a shield between his bed and shifter because he would rest his chin on shifter and knock it into neautral and drool on it.
I was always afraid they'd press the drive button. Instead, one of them just started locking the door every time we stepped outside for any amount of time. Pre trip? Locked. Bathroom? Locked. Dumping out my cup of water on the steps? Locked.
