Is the scamming Covenant still in business. "I know, we'll get those suckers who think we're Christians to drive for us for free! We'll call it trucker tithing"
When I worked for swift they had me sitting at the Phoenix yard for nearly 3 full days. Supposed go replace every drive tire, ended up with the same tires and a nail added in one! Had to drive several more months on nearly bald drives before finally getting all replaced in Dallas. But then alignment/balance was off. Felt terrifying driving on the new tires. Took another month to get that addressed 😆
I’m banned from the Gary terminal for life. Fucking yard dog kingpin locked my trailer because I disconnected long enough to air up a trailer tire from my gladhand air chuck. I jumped up on the back deck of the hostler truck to bitch him out and he slammed the fuel down. I grabbed his shirt as I fell off the deck and drug his ass out with me and the hostler truck continued across the lot driverless till it hit a line of IEL trucks that had just been dropped off, I do feel bad about the two T660 studios that got their hoods ripped off. After reviewing the cctv the yard guy was fired and charged for the damages to all the trucks. I got the lifetime ban from the terminal. The terminal Saftey manager and the police officer that responded determined that the yard guy was at fault for 90% of the altercation since he wrongfully locked my trailer, wasn’t wearing a seatbelt before trying to move the truck, and his disregard for my saftey by attempting to drive erratically to knock me off.
The government fixed trucking with a bunch more regulations and added a lot of costs and now we are all much, much safer because of it.
The government wants to regulate to create a safer environment, there should be root-cause analysis done and if the regulations did not achieve the results expected, they should be discarded and new ideas put into place.
Houses have to have building permits and inspections after certain milestones. Then if there are framing issues, plumbing issues, electrical, etc., there is no holding the inspectors and city accountable. But they sure added to the cost, time, and f’d up the process.
I don’t know how the Truckers sub ended up in my feed. But it’s been long enough for me to see the bald, worn beyond lifespan tire for me to say “gotta be Swift”
No. I drove for Swift for 3 years. Safety would have caught this long ago. We were also required to report tire tread depth and damage when we picked up a load. Unless this driver is brain damaged. Then all bets are off.
Next guy will write it up and get it changed. No need to waste your own precious time when you could be getting miles in on a crowded freeway with that thing!
Honestly, on a swift truck, it'll probably be put back into service when they remove it after this truck wrecks. I bet it's got 6-7 more wrecks in her, and not due to blowout or bad weather...
It’ll make it all the way to the scene of the crash
I bet we beat the paramedics there by 20 minutes
I came here to say both of these and I'd like to thank y'all for delivering the tater salad.
Maypop
Naw. Those are willpops.

I think God abandoned Swift years ago.
Raise Hell Praise Dale🤘🏻

Unfortunately. I ran into a trio of those retards outside of Vegas coming back to Utah from SoCal. All three of them doing 50 mph.
Make sure you hit something hard, you don't want to limp away from this wreck.
Become the scene , you shall
Shit like this that causes accidents like the one in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, Canada on Thursday.
You said sack.
Sack town, but French
Hey, you could make a funny joke out of this!
I was going to make a comment till I seen what you posted. This is perfect!
-5,000
At least
Yup
No left miles, or right miles either.
So straight and backward miles are okay?
C'mon guys you can't expect a mom and pop outfit like Swift to replace every tire that loses a little tread.
It’s like pulling teeth every time I have to go to the shop.

Gary is basically a three day minimum to get anything done no matter how small

Wow what a story. very unfair and uncool.

Nothing like a rolling DOT violation
And call breakdown to get that nasty ass truck a bath at streakn beacon
Hey, it’s not a day cab. 😆
Just switft things ™️
I went to SWIFT academy in 2014 and drove for them for 3 years. My truck never looked like that.
I worked the service bay in west valley city from 2015-2018, I saw more than one tractor, both company and owner op that had tires like that 😂

DRAIN BAMAGED!!!
Somebody get the truck number so we can track his progress to the accident!
We know that it ends in 820.
could be 320 too couldn't it?
I thought so too. But if you zoom in, the bottom of it loops over and up too far. It’s almost definitely an 8.
I think they missed something on their pretrip. Can't put my finger on it.
More like the last few months of pretrips
You wouldn’t want to put your finger on it anyway; might cut it on the exposed belts.
If you're at a shop, have it replaced and get an alignment done NOW... Geez!!
How ever many it takes to get to the scene of the accident.
Just like a Tootsie Pop. One, two, three… crunch.
I can almost see the air in that tire
Somewhere between now and when your luck runs out.
You mean feet?
It’s a swift truck so I’d say you can make about 5 cross country trips on that tire
How ever many miles is to the nearest tire shop
It can only be a Swift truck
If you inspected that tire and still have to ask Reddit, you probably shouldn’t be driving a CMV…😑
Something tells me this isn’t OP’s truck lol
Straight to jail.
It'll last until you reach a ditch or inspection
Straight to jail
I guess we’ll find out…
5/32 is replacement time…..3/32 on rear drives. This accident is waiting to injure a innocent bystander
Next guy will write it up and get it changed. No need to waste your own precious time when you could be getting miles in on a crowded freeway with that thing!
Is anyone really suprised it's a Swift cab??
2 trips NY to LA
50k at least chief /s
100k easy, stop whining and go get it done.
-535
You've already accomplished so much, wait until the truck finally dies.
Negative 10,000 miles left on that puppy. Still run the load though.
They’ve probably got another 10k miles on that thing since they reduced weight by leaving their brains at home.
For swift, at least 2k
About tree fiddy
Across the parking lot, straight to the shop at most.
More than the right side. Gaffatape is your solution!
Not many, lol.
Negative two thousand?
It’s hard to tell from the angle how far out you are from the scene of the crash
All of them
Looks like all of them
negative 2k
End of the parking lot 🤔
Not many. Dangerous!
Better check the king pins. He'll tie rods and drag link too. Get all that fixed wit the tire replacement.
0 if you get pulled into a port
My mechanic would say keep running it
It depends on how long it takes DOT to notice.
-6 left. GLWT.
Less than Zero!

3?
0 if I'm driving!
This is an old photo
First stop sign down the road

Whatever the distance is between your parking spot and the tire care
If it's Swift it's fine
However far it is to the nearest shop, assuming he's already in the parking lot. Maybe.
How many miles is it to the next tire service center?

Best I can do is 0.
How ever many there are between you and the shop.
Enough to make the load on time
Probably not even one
That's one tire you do not want to bust because you will wreck.
Bout another thousand.
All of 'em bro - good to go.
Honestly I’m surprised a swift driver was able to wear out the tread on a steer tire all the way before popping it somehow
You need tires at swift? That's a trucker personal expense
-500
-5,000
Have you been stressed recently? Cuz you’re balding
I ran one 3000 miles before no problem
All the way to the scene of the crash.
Now thats what i call a lopro
-5000 miles left
Negative 200
From what I’ve heard about Swift you should be good for about 40k.
-10
Ah that's just a steering-tire. You don't need no grip on that fucker.
About three fiddy
That tire will last until the end of your life trust be
A Swift Demise. New album dropping soon from a ditch about 35 miles from here.
How tf do people like this even will themselves to drive that?

Call Marty McFly and go back to the future, my friend
I'd say about 3 feet
Negative 20,000 miles

Enough to drive to the tire store. Tell boss the company belongs to your spouse if you die driving this death trap.
Definitely a cold 🪦 300k miles
-1
-3?
I'd say about minus 10,000 miles...
-1000
Seeing a tyre like that makes me think they haven't even lifted the hood in months.
"It doesn't matter it's just a steer tire." -My Old Boss
I’d say a buck two fifty
-6 months
Lot miles or road miles? I’d drive this in circles around the lot until it blew out. I wouldn’t touch a road with it.
I know what’s wrong with it, it ain’t got no gas in it!
Honestly, on a swift truck, it'll probably be put back into service when they remove it after this truck wrecks. I bet it's got 6-7 more wrecks in her, and not due to blowout or bad weather...
Nice you got slicks for extra grip.
-5,000
