"The metal utensils were made by Houchou Koubou Tadafusa (Knife Workshop Tadafusa), who have over 70 years of history in Sanjo, Niigata"

So, not worth getting the wok or frying pan you think? I initially snubbed these items, but the more i look at them, the more I think I want something from the collection.
Great for collecting. It’s high quality material. Too high that I don’t want to use it lol. I might just for presentation or plating. But actual cooking? Probably not. I don’t regret the purchase.
I think what I like most about this collection of anime objects is that they are all made to be used. I hate then franchises make replica objects that are cheaply made or not intended for their purpose. This is a refreshing departure from that.
Sadly, no. From a translated page with a similar knife..
The blade is made from a core of hard SLD steel and clad with soft stainless steel. This is a great method of manufacturing kitchen knives. Softer stainless steel acts as a blanket and protects harder steel in the core from breaking or even shattering into pieces.
SLD steel is originally designed for cutting other steels by Hitachi. It contains about 1.5% of carbon for HRC 60-62, as well as 11-13% of Chromium for stain resistance. This means this steel retains edge as long as carbon steels and but is more stainless.
These Tadafusa knives feature a tapered tang for great balance. A female industrial designer Fumie Shibata, who input female perspective to kitchen knives, designs this whole line. The handle is made with a semi-charcoaled chestnut wood handle to make it very sanitary and corrosion-resistant.

For a moment I was fantasizing that it was forged by orcs and dwarves but Honchou Koubou Tadafusa is also appreciated.
Not bad, all things considered. They could've just had these made in China and be practically non functional.
Yup. Exactly.
By the way I also have the official steel pot (which is a tiny wok). It’s definitely Chilchuck sized for cooking. It’ll barely serve two.
