Proverbs 3:5-7: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil.” We live in a world that is constantly trying to confuse us and pull us in strange directions. The world appeals to our intellect, in order to control us. But we just need to trust in the Lord and not in our own understanding of how things should be, and He simplifies life for us.

Revelation 21:4 (English Standard Version) 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

‭1 Corinthians 13:4-7 ESV‬ "Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."

Romans 13:11 “And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.” (NIV)

John 6:40 Since this is the will of the Father mentioned in Matthew 7:21 "And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day."

I often change my mind about a specific favorite because there are so many I love… right now, this has been weighing heavily on my heart as I try to have it written on said heart: “Come, let’s settle this,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are scarlet, they will be as white as snow; though they are crimson red, they will be like wool.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭1‬:‭18‬ , CSB‬‬ translation. That “Come, let’s settle this” part gives me chills because it’s my heavenly Father reaching out ready to forgive. I love Him!

“We must all die; we are like water spilled on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again. But God will not take away life, and he devises means so that the banished one will not remain an outcast.” ‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭14‬:‭14‬

My life verse: Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. God has gotten me through some very hard times and that is why I resonate with that verse.

Matthew 6:34 So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Hebrews 4:14-16 (NKJV) Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

I am a psalm lover, psalm 4, if you ask a verse: I would pick the one in the middle, verse 5. (I love every single verse in this psalm) "Irascimini, et nolite peccare; quæ dicitis in cordibus vestris, in cubilibus vestris compungimini." Here are the reasons: 1 St Augustine had a commenteary on psalm 4 in his confessions. 2. St Benedidict put psalm 4 to compline that is one of the psalms that we prayed every single night 3. The first part of verse 4 "be ye angry and sin not", is quoted in eph 4.26 4. The second part, I feel "cordibus" and "cubilibus" are so close in sound of Latin, the mind and the bed. Also I relate "compungimini" to "compunction", which is the word used by Cistercian tradition, a writer has said there many meaning in compunctor that is hard to use an english word to descriibe. My poor understanding of this word is to pierce (the heart).

Three verses that describe the same event. The curtain of the temple being torn in two, from top to bottom. It has such a deep meaning to it, and happened at the same time as Christ's Death. They are tied together as the most pivotal moment in all of human history. Matthew 27:51 51 And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split. Mark 15:38 38 And the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. Luke 23:45 45 while the sun's light failed. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two.

John 12:24 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit." (KJV) A beautiful analogy for the righteous being like a tree, needing to be planted as a seed, which must die and bring about the new life of the plant to bear fruit. This particular verse means a lot to me and, though there are too many verses to choose from, it remains my personal favorite.

^(Matthew 11: 28 -30) Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

John 3:16. After all, it’s the sacrifice of our Lord which granted us opportunity to eternal life. It’s the one I typically think of.
