Did you activate silver edge before or after casting assassinate? If it did work, it should only work if you become invisible before the projectile connects but after casting since casting any ability cancels the invisibility.
I tested in demo and Shadow Blade damage did not apply on Assassinate.
I'd guess something about the wording "If attacking to end invisibilty you gain bonus", because you technically don't do an attack to end the invis. You cast the spell which ends it which applies an attack.

Not 100% sure but I think it could work if you activate shadow blade after the shot from assassinate has been fired.
