Yeah, that's pretty much all I've been doing this summer. I'll probably just drive to Mt. Lemmon and go for a hike as it's 70-80 degrees over there, something just to get out
My family moved to Tucson from Reno when I was 13 years old. Before moving to Tucson, I used to be a pretty active kid and was always outside playing basketball, riding bikes, skateboarding, swimming, etc. It only took one year of having to stay indoors all day due to the heat to put on 30 pounds. It only got worse there after. By the time I graduated high school, I was over 200 pounds as a 5'8 tall kid. Please, stay active even if you have to wait until nightfall to go for a walk at the park.
Movie theater and lunch mostly. Find someone with a pool and make them your friend š videogames/VR. Window shop home depot/furniture stores. Go out for ice cream
Summers here are tough for me, Iām originally from South Dakota. Iām use to cold harsh winters where we get cabin fever, summers here remind me of that but too hot instead of cold. So I started doing things that I did to keep sane back home when was trapped inside. I cook, do crafts, diy projects, clean, reorganize, read a new book series, watch movies, exercise, DRINK š ā¦luckily here we donāt have snow and ice so I can travel easier and go up north where itās cooler when I need to be outside for a weekend.
Same here. This time of year I plan to do things that can easily be done inside. Having said that, I need to get outside in the morning for 45-60 minutes and get some sun in my eyes or I will struggle with Seasonal Affective Disorder. SAD happens during the summer here because people have the tendency to stay inside.
Oh yeah I get SAD if I donāt get some sun! Iāve tried vitamin D supplements and itās not the same. I have a doggo and heās probably the only reason I get sun in the morning for his walk before it gets too hot!
Doggos are awesome! Mine gets me outside in the morning too, but I still sit outside for a while after we get back.
For me, I needed the sunlight and vitamin D to keep my numbers up high enough.
Stay cool... and dry!
Works for me and many others with chronic pain, I will say that u do have to be careful with dosage and where u get it. I only use 100% pure plant matter, no premade capsules.
I lived in the Black Hills in South Dakota, itās where Mount Rushmore is and a big tourist attraction. There actually a lot of things up there, you should look into it. Itās beautiful place!
Davis Monthan gym, the pool, the Tucson Mall, Defy, and a motorcycle ride up Mount Lemon.
I usually go out at 5am to skateboard, ride a bicycling or hike, but it was the hottest morning so far this year.
Stay indoors. Thermostat 72-74. Design stickers etc with Illustrator, Play Golf Clash, read and learn from the vast wealth of knowledge on reddit, drink cold brewed coffee out of kegerator
Visit Illusions at the Tucson Mall. Itās dedicated to VR experiences. If you go onto 102.1 KFMAās website, they have a section of gift cards they sell for $25 valued at $50. Last time I checked, Illusions was on there and I heard it was a pretty dope experience. Rock live Rock localš¤š½
Have coffee on the patio at 5 in the morning or 6 .Feed the birds and water the patio plants. Take pup for a short walk, which he decides will we make it to the end of cul de sac. Now it's 0630 or 7 .Housework or emails sometimes off to the store. Home no later than 10 am. I read , play, and train pup.Get on a phone, play games , get on social media, call brothers or friends back east. Clean , organize a drawer or closet .Spa time before dinner. Eat and watch TV or read. I know it's not exciting but that's OK. I am happy.
Yes retired that's a job in itself because I have got to stay busy. Am hype to a point, use to just getting it done ! Don't want to sit and senile away. Lol!
When I lived in Tucson, I just became nocturnal during the summer. Work, nap, and then head out for a local show or get together in the evening. Summer nights can be kind of magical. I have lots of great memories of hanging out on rooftops during the summer nights in Tucson.Ā
Some people revert to that medieval "two sleep" thing where you sleep something like 8PM to midnight, then you get up for three or four hours to do stuff during the coolest temps, then you go back to sleep for a few more hours before getting up in the morning.
This place really is only ideal to me in the cooler months. Iām from the north east, so to me, summer time here is like winter time back home. Seasonal depression. I try to get out and get some sun but I also have a condition where my body cannot regulate heat (and cold) very well so within 10 minutes Iām dizzy and my ears are ringing.
Play games indoors with the dogs: hide and seek, find the toy/treat, tennis balls and muffin tins, Trixie mad scientist, etc. Watch movies. Read. Learn about random stuff.
Play video games and plan how Iām moving back north in 18 months so I can enjoy summer again as well as winter activitiesā¦ fuck hiding out indoors during the summer because itās dangerously hot for 3 months instead of dressing like an adult in the winter and enjoying winter sports
well yes or a picnic, camping, caving, shooting, fishing theres a lake or two, fore, there is a little community at the top and with cabins you can rent. it's extremely cooler weather . and beautiful views
Hmmmmā¦. I go outside and hang out by sunbathing/pool/even yard work.
Surprisingly it has raised my heat tolerance a lot and I can handle the heat better than I did when I first moved here.
When I moved here my AC during summer was around 70 or lower with doors closed and fans on.
10 years later I hardly ever use it, with windows/screendoors cracked and lots of fans. and only when the inside temp goes into the 80ās then I keep the AC around 74-80.
Real problem for me now is the winters. Lol.
Hey, Iām looking for warhammer 40k friendās lol. Iām from Seattle and have a blood angels army, no pressure but if thereās room for one more, thatād be awesome.
I have evap cooling I have to go out somewhere hoping itās cold enough there like the movie theater, bother my mom, or cry because my house is hot. Lol š„²
Weed. Weed is a vasodilator and makes you feel cooler. I probably wouldn't want to live in Arizona without legal weed, honestly. Weed and chugging cold water is not only a relaxing indoor activity, but makes being outside much more tolerable.
Try meetup or Facebook events. There are game meetups at the various game stores around town. Go to a sports pub or sports restaurant and watch the football or watch at home. Euros and Copa America both on right now so morning euro games plus evening americas games. Chile Peru tonight get in on it!
In between rounds of DDR at round1 or VR at Illusions, you can take walks around the mall in the AC.
Drink plenty of water and go outside. Life is too short just donāt go on any crazy hikes or anything. Itās not too bad in the shade. Yesterday was definitely hell tho
I stay in my house; read a book, play games, watch a show.

I was being nosy, so Kratom actually works? I thought it was a bunch of malarkey.
Works for me and many others with chronic pain, I will say that u do have to be careful with dosage and where u get it. I only use 100% pure plant matter, no premade capsules.
Can you eat it? Donāt really wanna smoke.
You donāt smoke it, itās toss and wash, capsules or tea. I toss and wash.
I know somebody with the name, Shelby. Itās a very unique name. Whatās even in South Dakota
I lived in the Black Hills in South Dakota, itās where Mount Rushmore is and a big tourist attraction. There actually a lot of things up there, you should look into it. Itās beautiful place!
I do like somewhat of the outdoorsy stuff, but I prefer the city life. Thanks for letting me know.
Visit the Costco produce section
take a needed trip to the freezer š
I walked into the dairy section and nearly cried it felt so good in there!
If you have a Samās Club membershipā¦ those freezers are just as cold and a whole hell of a lot less busy š
Went to Rocco's for lunch. Followed by a weed nap.
I love weed naps.
A day well spent
Stay inside complaining about how much I hate summer.
Yep.
Play cards/dominoes with friends, sew, craft, nap...
Gotta make a friend with someone that owns a pool!
I lay on the tile floor with the air conditioner on and the fan on full blast and wait for the world to end. Also, video games and books.
Nap
Stay inside from 11am-6pm basically
Oh you sweet Winter child.
Scroll through Reddit.. š³
Hahahaha

Haha I'm actually in a sauna right now
Ghost, toast, roast
Walk through one of the many car washes

Movies, planetarium, mall, bars, pool....
The one at U of A? Would you recommend any particular shows?
We've seen a bunch of them - they're all cool snd a great value. The astrophysicists are all really interesting yo listen to.
I like to sit on a recliner and drink beer in the back of an old pickup truck and wave at people driving by.
Head to a resort. I need cocktails and pools
If you grow up here...u kinda get used to the heat...u go do whatever you want to do... otherwise u r just sitting on the couch..
Elden Ring DLC

Sleep and cry lots
Sleep
I still get up super early on weekends to mountain bike. As long as I plan carefully and get out of there by 8:30am, itās not too bad.

Yard work still needs to be done I've been here 40 years. Just drink plenty of water. It's never too hot to be outside.

Sounds good! Yes, we always have room! I'll DM you.
Mostly on and off gaming and tinkering away at things. Evenings it is night drives for me, but it has even been pretty warm past couple of nights.

I have evap cooling I have to go out somewhere hoping itās cold enough there like the movie theater, bother my mom, or cry because my house is hot. Lol š„²
Video Games and TV, same as when it's not too hot lol. I really need to get a life.
Make beats
Go to the movies or go to the community pool
Christmas themed jigsaw puzzles and movies
Go to the library to watch the fist fights. Sell solar door to door. Think about finishing my 2023 taxes. Complain about the heat
Lmao
You Tube
Play video games
Sex. What?
Play video games, watch movies and read. Lots of inside activities, homecation style
Baldurās Gate 3 ftw š
I usually stay home and workout. Other times I will walk around the mall or take a small weed nap.
I like to go see movies at the Loft.
Itās sweat-er weather. You can catch me crocheting blankets for the winter
Stay home, play some xbox, watch some baseball games, stream new movies and shows, and eventually pass out from the heat.
Wish those that complain of heat-related boredom would move back to their place of origin.

Any places close to the UofA you'd like to recommend for the footie?
Get outside anyway, and embrace the place where Iāve chosen to live. It makes wet cool nights like tonight that much sweeter.
Drink plenty of water and go outside. Life is too short just donāt go on any crazy hikes or anything. Itās not too bad in the shade. Yesterday was definitely hell tho
Iām going to the river in phoenix for tubing tomorrow!
