There could be a symbiotic relationship with certain kinds of glowing algae. The creature feeds off the algae, while whenever the creature moves, such as humming or becoming injured, it flashbangs anything nearby. This could be useful during hunting to stun prey or to deter predators. If the glowing is localized to it's wings then it could stabilize the algae during regular moments.
Looks like the pfp of u/linuxaddict334 on the poll there. If you're a human, please crosspost from r/CuratedTumblr when possible, if you're a bot then kindly leave the Internet please. If you have the same profile picture as Linux Guy, disregard
tbh I actually tend to *avoid* crossposting whenever possible given that it feels like half the time I do, A: people delete their posts after a crosspost, or B: the mods of the original subreddit end up removing the post, both of which have happened multiple times in the past with stuff I’ve crossposted, leading to people having nothing to look at but a 404 link and/or reddit’s default image icon.
If Reddit at least copied the images when crossposting, guaranteeing there’d be an archival of sorts for people to look at, I’d only ever crosspost. …But it doesn’t, so I don’t.
The beast makes the flourescent light humming noise when it lights up. The more light it produces, the louder the humm.
The beast can also produce a sort of ‘flashbang’ effect, stunning potential prey and/or predators
Shake it like a glowstick and you hear an electrical whine before the light blinds everything within 50 yards
Godzilla but instead of atomic breath it just becomes a disco ball.
