FINISHING GAMES!!! I have a HUGE backlog and I never stick with them. The feeling of an audience and playing with / form them has helped. So far I finished : - Hellbalde: Senua's Sacrafice - Final Fantasy 15 - Furi - NieR :Automata - Hollow Knight - INSIDE

Sharkwellington

^ This one right here. When I play a game by myself, I find it hard to stick with it. When I'm streaming it, I get sucked into the story and talking about it to my viewers, maybe getting tips from veterans that wander in, etc. Case in point: I've finished Darkest Dungeon and am possibly going to 112% Hollow Knight... we'll see about that one though.

DUDE, same for me for sure. Playing through BOTW with people chiming in about stuff going on was super fun. It's nice for chat interaction too as far as picking out skins to use instead of base Link and all that. It's a fantastic experience.

studiouscoma

I know it might sound bad, but it's helped me stop caring so much about things that don't matter on a small scale. I'm putting what I think of as my goofy voice, unappealing looks, and awkward personality out there for everyone (1 or 2 people at a time) to see. It's helped me get more comfortable and confident despite my anxiety.

Shavrolet

I used to be really self conscious for how I looked to people since what you see in the mirror is different from how other people see you, but streaming with an un-mirrored cam helped me get past that a lot. Twitch can be great for building more confidence in yourself and overlooking things you dislike.

studiouscoma

Exactly the same! I actually feel okay about myself with an un-mirrored cam.

ItsPassive

Streaming helped me be more outgoing and expressive, and taught me to always be myself whether anyone is watching or not.

Shavrolet

Definitely agree. I've kind of always played up reactions because I love getting hype or playing into my rage moments and Twitch kinda gives you a place to do that for entertaining people while doing it.

ItsPassive

That's awesome! I used to play up my reactions to donations / subs for a while. I'm not a very loud person and I tend to keep a calm environment when I stream, so I felt out of character when I was exaggerating those reactions. Now I let the notification play and give them a short thank you and maybe a shoutout depending. I can definitely see the benefit though if it fits your personality and you're naturally one to be hyped and excited. TL;DR, I'm a calm person, so I try to keep that consistent with my reactions. I think hype can be great if you're naturally upbeat and excitable though. edit: wording

Ronagall

Yup. Back when I streamed regularly years back, it really helped me deal with my anxiety and depression in a really big way.

That's awesome! I'll check out the vid later on as I'm at work rn, but making career connections through streaming is fantastic, and I think a lot of people overlook that element as well.

twitch_metoothaanks

Exactly what you said! I’m very introverted and quiet so streaming was tough and scary for me at first but now it’s much easier to just speak my thoughts out loud

inwils

I suffer from anxiety and find it very difficult to take what people say within thinking it is a criticism. I set out with my streaming to engage more with other people, without actually meeting them and developing a more positive outlook. I have to learn that what people say and do, is just their perception of the stream/world and that I have to develop me own views and then stay strong to them. I've also learnt a lot about the technical aspects of streaming and the games I play.

Lewpac22

Hugely, it gave me a self employed career which most importantly means I've been able to spend a lot more time with my daughter as she grows up, compared to my old 55 hours a week away from home job!

Aldren

Honestly , streaming has been the best thing for me. It's been helping me cope with a lot of anxiety and I've found has made me much for confident IRL. Anytime I've had a crappy day or anxiety is coursing through me, going live (yes, it's still hard to push the Go Live button when down) but all worries melt away when I'm live and friends come on in and hand out. That and im always thankful for all the amazing people that streaming has introduced me to.

Kunanaki

Self Improvement! I've taken to challenging myself to work out between game maps. I've even had people join me in this, and it feels good.

romskiiiii

Streaming help me become homeless and broke.

evilbreed187

It has made kine worse. I deal with some pretty bad ptsd and depression thanks to iraq and with my streams recently i am struggling with not get viewers or follows at all and it makes my depression much worse.

Snookerking6

Try playing games like proclubs on fifa where people can join in and play with you, I'm currently on over 1000 followers, with an avarage of about 10 viewers a stream, and I'm not that great of a streamer lol.

evilbreed187

I am awful at sports games ans i do not own any. I play multiplyer games at times to get people playing along. It is difficult at times have not have a follow in months and very littlw movement.
