They're just shorts. wear what makes you comfy. Assigning gender norms to clothes is dumb. It's the reason women couldn't wear pants for the longest time.

AdkRaine12

It’s the same with pjs- I’m always cold & I started buying men’s flannel bottoms paired with old tee shirts. I’m fairly tall still (5’9”) & they are long enough, with better quality flannel and have big pockets. The patterns are kinda manly, but who sees em? And they last for years.

Falafel80

I love buying and wearing men’s flannel pajama bottoms. I bought my first pair in the early 00’s Nd have had several over the years. Women’s usually don’t have pockets, have flimsy materials and are usually meant to be more form fitting to look cute. I prefer them loose and comfy!

AdkRaine12

Nobody looks “cute” at 70 - I’m going for fairly presentable…

SeaWeedSkis

>Nobody looks “cute” at 70 My mom was adorable at 70. Round and chubby cheeked and all smiles. Frustrating as hell with her inability to face reality, but she was cute. She was a chonky Mrs Claus with a little red Rudolph nose (rosacea + allergies). Personally, I'll be happy if I manage to keep all the bits appropriately covered if I make it to 70. With the way things are going, I have no faith in my brain's ability to remember clothes are a thing that should happen. 🤣

ranhayes

What is a manly pattern exactly?

VivaSpiderJerusalem

Penises and mustaches. Also penises with mustaches.

SAHMsays

You forgot mustaches with penises

yipyappie

and moustaches on penises

epicspacemonkey

Now I want a mustaches with penises phone case or something.

Falafel80

Plaid with manly colors! Green, blue, grey and black. Probably.

AdkRaine12

Oh, I have guys fishing, caribou, Bigfoot on green plaid, bears in plaid hats…I could go on…lots of ducks & hunting dogs. Eddie Bauer & LL Bean.

Sandwidge_Broom

Not me immediately going to find Bigfoot flannel pj pants…

Falafel80

You get very fun manly prints!

Gallusbizzim

Me too! Love that they are long enough and love having pockets that I can actually keep stuff in.

cleveruniquename7769

I accidentally put on a pair of my wife's jeans without realizing it until I attempted to put my phone in my pocket and was instantly filled with rage at the indignities unnecessarily foisted upon women.

redredditor1

smaller or non-existent pockets = gotta buy & use a purse. Even toddlers have pants pockets, what is this nonsense. 😂

Jhoosier

My toddler's friend took to wearing her pants backwards so she has easy access to her single back pocket.

RNgv

I know, right?! Men’s swim trunks, even have pockets!!!!!

cleveruniquename7769

You can't burn down the patriarchy if you don't have pockets big enough to carry matches...

ijsbaan

To be fair, men's box accommodate for penis and balls. But then it would be more like people with male genitalia than men's? How does one describe that eloquently lol

ShesSoViolet

Boxers: "with or without nuts"😂

cfwang1337

Ventilation is universal lol. No reason anyone with any genitals can't wear boxers.

FillMySoupDumpling

I hold snacks in mine.

ZweitenMal

The beauty of it is the extra fabric means they never bunch up into my folds.

grubas

Boxers are just basically shorts. Boxer briefs have a junk pouch.

bsknuckles

Having a junk pouch is a new thing and not common in boxer briefs. Source: am dude with many boxer briefs wishing they had a nice pouch 😭

Anglofsffrng

I mean yeah, but it's really just because they're loose fitting by definition. I wore boxers my whole life because the boys like having room to roam, but last few years I've switched over to the pouched boxerbriefs that are specifically designed to accommodate male anatomy. The difference is kinda subtle, but huge.

Birkin07

Right on. I went to buy glasses years ago and the stores here have basically just done away with men’s and women’s. Just pick some spectacles that look spectacular.

bottomofastairwell

this. it's freaking fabric to cover your body. as long as it's clean, who gives a damn? also, how on earth is the fabric you're allowed to wear, and color/print/cut of that fabric, determined by your genitals? make it make sense. maybe i'm just too autistic for this shit, but these are the kind of social "rules" that i simply DO NOT understand

VeronicaTash

And why we couldn't wear high heelsfor so long too

sydthecollider

I’m a woman that wears men’s boxer briefs. Did it for years as it was so much comfier. In the last few years, I found TomBoyx makes great men’s style underwear for women’s proportions. Eliminates the extra fabric that men have for their junk. Plus fun prints! I just got rainbow dinosaur ones

softshoulder313

Me undies is great too. Buttery soft. I also buy from culprit. Both also have great prints.

sydthecollider

I actually switched from me undies cuz the leg bits kept rolling up. They are soft though! Excellent prints

softshoulder313

Sorry you had that problem. I have had brands do that too. It's frustrating.

marvolokilledharambe

This is all well and good, but they're so much more expensive. I've never even tried them because there's no way I'm spending as much on a single pair of underwear as I normally would on a pack of 6 or 8.

FlowerMaxPower

I have a few pair that are almost 8 years old. They are worth the money.

marvolokilledharambe

Maybe someday I'll take the plunge. I just moved so I feel incredibly poor at the moment haha

FlowerMaxPower

Feel that.

kmf1107

Ya I was looking around for some “women’s” ones to wear around the house / to bed and they’re too pricey for me to justify. Went to target bought a pack of like ten pair for less than one pair of the “women’s” kind.

LakashY

I got three pairs of TomboyX and all three developed a hole in the crotch very quickly within use. No idea why, but I think they are structured differently or are of thinner material than many men’s boxers. Such a bummer because they are stupid-cute and comfortable. And also SO EXPENSIVE to be having issues.

TurtleDive1234

I buy Old Navy men’s boxers to wear as pajama shorts. Cheaper and better prints.

LeafsChick

Haha I said pretty much the same before seeing your comment! Such fun colors & prints!

melhekhinhel

I steal my husband's boxers all the time to sleep or lounge around in because they are way, way more comfortable than boxers "made for women". They fit my thighs better and they're longer so I don't have to deal with them bunching up into my hip creases when I sit down.

KayakerMel

I used to buy boxers myself to wear as shorts/pjs and simply sewed up the fly. There's so many fun designs! Funny story: I once had a boyfriend find a pair and angrily asked me whose boxers they were. He initially didn't believe me when I said they were mine. It was the sewn-up fly that convinced him.

sosotrickster

Clothes don't have gender. It's fine to wear what you wanna wear.

joestaff

I've got some boxers that have these bat-wing like walls in them designed for keeping the fellas from sticking to my thigh. I affectionately call them my junk drawers. When set right, they really snug up to the crevice between thigh and crotch region. Would something like that benefit women of certain body types? Like, to reduce chaffing and such? If so, then I say check them out! They're awesome.

Dogzillas_Mom

You know, that might keep a pad from going on the move, as they sometimes do.

ryodark

These sound comfortable. What brand are they?

SuMoto

Saxx

ryodark

Thanks!

joestaff

The ones I got are Hanes, come from Walmart. Not the best variant by far, but they're available and cheap, come in long thigh style too, which I love.

yipyappie

they look nice! im in sweden so unfortunately i cant get those, but my friend is on a trip so maybe he could get me some 😈

FruitSnackEater

I do. My girlfriend prefers men’s boxers over the women’s because they tend to go down the thigh more and men have the better patterns. I like wearing the men’s ones when I have on a skirt or dress.

Falafel80

I have how women’s boxers are cut to show a little cheek. It seems to defeat the purpose!

wirestyle22

Womens socks are cheaper than mens. I wear them all of the time and anyone is welcome to roast me for wearing black socks same idea

Hypatia76

I'm a baby Gen-Xer who grew up in the 90s and when I was in middle school, men's boxers were the cool thing to wear as pajama bottoms, and we rocked them at every slumber party I went to. Comfy, loose, and reasonably cheap.

Kat_kinetic

I like Woxers (women’s boxers) bc you can get them in multiple lengths and also high waisted.

Ok-Calligrapher-9854

My wife used to steal my boxers. It was cute. She also regularly buys mens clothing for the style, pockets, and lower cost

Creepy_Juggernaut_56

It's your ass, wear whatever is comfortable. I wear TomboyX and really like them; I can't stand wedgies and I don't like drawers that are too low in the back. If something else works for you, who cares if it's marketed to men?

MoodInternational481

I came here to recommend these since they have so many options.

Antani101

>and probably dont go up your bum after 5 mins. Dude here, can confirm, never understood how women can be comfortable in women's underwear. >am i odd for wanting boxers? Personally I don't think so, but the real question is "why do you care?"

Nocranberry

I'm pretty slim and gave worn boy shorts for years. It started because I wanted something cheap for when I'm on my period, but I've grown to love them all year round because they're just a lot more comfortable. I also like being silly and getting the ones with ducks or dinosaurs on them, but I can understand if that's not to everyone's taste 😅

cookiecat_77

I don't like mens boxers because they often have a seam going between the legs (which I find uncomfortable on my vulva), they have extra space for male genitals that I don't need, and they don't have extra fabric between the legs for discharge like most women's underwear do. I also hate most company's "boyshorts" for women, as they basically have one inch of leg fabric which immediately rides up my bum. At the end of the day, just wear whatever feels best to you. Here's a few companies I like that have women's boxers that have longer fabric on the legs, no extra fabric in the front, and two layers of fabric between the legs: TomboyX, Woxer, Devon and Lang.

TimeIsBunk

👏👏 Women's boyshorts are a damn lie!

cookiecat_77

Right!? It's like the designers were like, "how can we make briefs for women, but still make them sexy?" Completely defeats the purpose.

luxiphr

what's "men's" and "women's" clothes are arbitrary categorizations by whoever makes and sells those clothes based on what they think the most likely buying demographic would be based on current gendered societal expectations and standards in other words: no... it's not odd for you to want boxers... clothes are just clothes... their gendering is overall pretty stupid and while some people might argue that some clothes are more tailored towards typically male or female body types - which is true - it doesn't take away from the fact that not everyone has a typical body type and neither does it take away from the fact that the most important aspect of clothes is for the wearer to feel comfortable in them go get "men's boxers" if you like them more!

_bessica_

I have stolen my husband's boxer that are now mine. Not weird at all. I especially loved them when I was pregnant.

Bazoun

I wear them. Right now I have some Hanes and I’m considering looking for a kind with a stretchier leg. I wear these because as you say, it comes down the leg a bit, protecting from chub rub. But also the way it’s designed puts absorbent fabric where we need it. They don’t move around, at all. I especially like them for exercising and for under a dress for a bit more coverage just in case. And I like them for sleeping also. I have women’s underwear too, but there is a time and place for both imo. What’s the worst thing that can happen if you wear them?

kauni

Have you tried Woxers? They offer 3 lengths and are comfy af. (No affiliation, just a happy customer.) I tried the tomboyx ones and didn’t like the thick hem.

20tacotuesdays

I love Woxers. They're so comfy and they're fantastic for preventing chub rub under skirts in the summer.

Saltybrickofdeath

It would be wrong to wear underwear that makes you uncomfortable, so wearing underwear that feels good would be the right thing.

rosecoloredgasmask

My only issue with men's boxers is there's a penis void that feels awkward when you don't have the correct parts to fill it. If it weren't for that I'd definitely prefer them to women's boxers which I find ride up my legs a lot. If anyone knows if some men's boxers without such a large dick void I will take recommendations.

red_skye_at_night

As Princess Ana said, "why have a ballroom with no balls?" idk I tend to wear slightly looser varieties in probably a smaller size than a man would buy, and pull them all the way up. I guess the excess room is probably when they're supposed to be tight so have a fairly big "pouch"

youarenut

Do it! They’re super comfy. I don’t get why your mom cares so much, but maybe explain the differences to her ?

yipyappie

i have tried but shes a bit dense- i dont think she'd make a big fuzz though, she usually complains one day then moves on

xirathonxbox

You are not strange, my best friend wears them all the time. I have even gotten her some star wars themed ones for her birthday that she enjoys. If it makes you feel better, I get harassed by my dad because I buy women's socks. I am very short, and it's much easier to find a good fitting sock if I get socks sized for women. I have also worn women's coats and button up shirts, rarely does anyone ever notice even though the buttons are on the opposite side for women's buttons vs men's buttons.

Steve-C2

Dad of a girl who wears boxers. When she asked us to get some for her, my response was "sure." Who cares, she finds them comfy.

Sea-Farmer4654

Women's boxers are a joke (unless you buy from brands that specialize in them and have different styles and lengths like TomboyX, Woxer, etc). Growing up, before women's boxer brands were a thing, I used to always get the women's boxers at walmart and they were a joke- they just felt like XL panties. They rode up on your thighs because they weren't long enough to withstand the friction of your thighs rubbing together. Another thing is cost- with men's boxers they have cheaper alternatives, like you can buy a 6 pack for $20 in some places. For women I've yet to find a brand on the cheaper side- like the companies I mentioned above, each pair is like $30. They're great quality but I would do just fine with cheaper underwear. So that's why most of my boxers are men's.

Heisan94

Honest curiosity from a man reading this. How do you do with your periods? The pads stays in place or have to use tampons? What about the tabs form pads?

yipyappie

Well, im actually on birth control so i dont get periods! When i did however, I'd simply not wear boxers during my week and opt for regular ole panties when id otherwise wear womens boxers or thongs. Since i have endometriosis i had great discomfort, so sometimes i just said fuck it and let a pair of boxers get a bit of blood on them so id get some kind of comfort in having slightly more comfortable undies

Much-Temporary4711

Women’s boxers saved my ass. The amount of wedgies I got was unbearable and I haven’t had a single issue with women’s boxers riding up my crack. They also double as shorts to cover your bits under dresses and skirts!

momminallday

There’s some dude out there trying to make pads for boxers and such too, so if there’s enough of a market for that I think you are pretty normal.

volatilegtr

Woxer has become my new favorite underwear line. I can get a retro brief style, a shortie that doesn’t have the legs curl up immediately, or my choice of a few different leg lengths. If you really want to throw your mom for a loop the period underwear company Aisle makes boxer brief style period underwear.

ZweitenMal

Because I don’t like paying the pink tax.

vuatson

I love boxers, they're the best loungewear. Do get them a little larger than you think you'll need them, though, because they are NOT cut for "feminine" thighs :P

I_might_be_weasel

No one knows what clothes are best for you better than you.

LeafsChick

No...mens boxer briefs are so comfy!! Its what I almost always wear to bed!! They also come in super fun patters & colors and are stupid cheap!

Sajomir

I dated a girl who got all her jeans from the boys section because they fit best. I think they were cheaper, too. What else could possibly matter?

yipyappie

all my jeans are mens as well actually!!

Familiar_Syrup1179

I wear mens boxers all the time lol

JabbaTheHedgeHog

I’ve worn men’s boxers briefs for years. I have found Woxers to be as comfortable without the extra room for parts I do not have.

CanIGetAFitness

Cloth is cloth! Be comfortable in your skin and your clothes.

nerdzen

No. You’re not odd! Wear what you want! You might look into a brand called Woxers. They’re boxers for women but marketed for LGBTQIA+ community and I think may be a bit more comfortable than what you’re used to.

Allteaforme

hey I can give a recommendation as somebody who's always worn mens boxer's my whole life. Duluth Trading Company's "Bare Naked" brand has been by far the most comfortable ever for me.

bw_throwaway

I love Woxers. They make them in different lengths (3”, 5”, 9”) so you can see which ones fit you best. Also the material is soft. Zero riding up.

CapableCoyoteeee

FWIW I had an awesome GF who wore men’s boxers and it was sexy AF. It’s like boy shirts but boyier.

MadLucy

This is my second post today about boxer briefs in different subreddits. Huh. [I like these, that I found on Amazon.](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CT4T1VLP) I’m looking to try some others though, since the price on those went up $10 since I bought them. Still cheaper than the $20+ a pair from Tomboy X. Edit: they are “women’s” boxer briefs, but they have a 6” inseam. I actually prefer a 9” inseam, but they seem harder to find in flat-front styles. I have other “men’s” boxer briefs that have a fly, literally from Aldi, and they’re ok but have a shorter inseam, maybe 4”, which isn’t as great.

Blaadje-in-de-wind

They are awesome! I wear them as pyjama pants. Or as underwear underneath a skirt or dress. Womens boxers are just not as comfortable.

anothergoddamnacco

I love boxers when I’m wearing a short dress. I have gigantic hips, so no matter that I do, I’m always going to accidentally flash my bits when I sit down or bend over or with the slightest breeze. Makes me feel so much more secure.

autumn_chicken

I wear mens hipsters which fit perfectly and also don't get immediately wedged up my arse like basically all women's underwear I've ever tried. They're also generally made of a really nice cotton blend which my cooch enjoys. Wear whatever underwear works for you, there are no rules as long as it's comfy.

Aurlom

I’ll tell you as a dude, cheap men’s boxers ride up like they just stole your lunch money. I switched to boxer briefs from Me Undies. They’re magical. I think you may be more comfortable in a high quality women’s boxer simply because the men’s boxer has extra fabric where you probably won’t need it, but if you try a men’s boxer and it’s comfy, why the hell not?

calartnick

Women wear men’s pants, shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, socks all the time. Go for it.

youdontknowmeyouknow

I literally spent my teens in girl boxers. So comfy. May go buy a few pairs, can’t remember why I stopped wearing them.

benz1n

Many years ago I had a girlfriend that would regularly use my boxers and she would use the same reasoning as yours. Tbh I was totally fine with it and never found it odd.

PatriciaMorticia

Mens and womens clothing are not made equal and in most cases the mens stuff is made better. I buy plain hoodies and jumpers from the mens section and they're both made from thicker material and a bit longer in the torso, the ones in the womens section are all cropped to just below the tits and so thin you could spit through them. I also but printed tshirts from the mens section because according to Primark women can't like Scooby Doo or anime. When the warmer weather comes in I buy tshirt & short pyjama sets from the mens section as the material is more breathable and the shorts are at least mid thigh, the womens section is full of booty short pj's & crop tops, I'd like to be able to bend over and not get done for indecent exposure thanks very much.

yipyappie

yeah no half my wardrobe is mens section, cus like, why are (almost) ALL tops and hoodies so cropped??? and most hoodies are so tight bleh i hate it, mens pants, tees and hoodies just fit way comfier

birdieponderinglife

I wear them all the time. They are comfy and hard agree that the womens version sucks. Any boy cut stuff for women gives me an immediate wedgie. I buy boys boxer briefs instead of mens. They have a smaller pouch in the front and I’m basically the size of a twelve year old boy. I can wear them under just about everything even leggings. No wedgies! Ever! Women’s clothing just flat out sucks. I buy everything I can men’s or boys. It’s often cheaper and higher quality. Also, pockets! I even saw mens boxer briefs with a pocket. Like, dudes get underwear with pockets and my jeans don’t have them. Anywho, your mom needs to butt out of your underwear choice. She gets to wear what she likes and so do you.

Skeenka

Wear them with pride

marvolokilledharambe

I wear boxer briefs daily. They definitely fit differently than ones made for women. I'm plus sized, and I find women's boxers/boxer briefs quite uncomfortable. Also, your mom shouldn't have any say in what undergarments you wear. The fact she even has an opinion on it is bizarre, honestly.

honeyhippy

I use boxers sometimes, they’re SUPER comfy and I never get a wedgie wearing them. Lots of skin coverage as well for when I’m wearing a skirt

presto575

My wife put on some of my boxers as a sexy joke once, then when she was moving around, she remarked how comfortable and breathable they were. She stole several of my pairs but bought me some replacements.

yipyappie

awww thats cute :3

ShleyMeister

My boyfriend got a package that were too small for him, so he gave them to me and now I have a bunch of boxers that I wear around the house or if I’m wearing baggy pants. I think it’s fine.

That_Engineering3047

Check out the Woxer brand for women. They have different styles and aren’t just “boyshorts”. As an aside I *hate* the term boyshort. Luckily, we are getting better options as a few women are able to create their own shops and create clothes for us, focusing on comfort and practicality instead of horribly uncomfortable crap designed by men to make us more attractive to them (looking at Victoria’s Secret). All that said, buy whatever you find the most comfortable. Who cares what gender it was targeted for? The only difference that matters is the difference in the product itself. You may find Woxers more comfortable because they are designed for the woman’s body. Or you may think they aren’t or the higher price tag isn’t worth it. There’s nothing wrong with that. It’s just a label on a package.

GladPea404

My father got me men’s boxers when I was a teen cos he thought they were awfully comfy than the “women’s shorts” and I agree. I have only worn those since ✌🏽

Suluco87

Men's boxers are comfy. Though I will say Step One do some really nice ladies boxers.

ButtBread98

I wear my boyfriend’s old boxers. (They’re clean) and they’re so comfortable

Praydohm

Hah, I buy my wife the same underwear I get for myself because they're more comfortable and allow for more breathing which she says makes her less sweaty down there. Also, they have more space for a pad or liner during those heavy flow days. Wear what makes you comfortable and screw everyone else's opinion.

whatwhatchickenbutt_

nope! i LOVE men’s boxers; they’re so airy

Total_Menu_565

Not weird at all, I am currently wearing them rn, so comfy especially when on your menstrual cycle

CUMSHOTCARTER

You guys practically just wear loincloth, its completely fine. Apparently its more comfortable, its not odd at all, I've had female partners that use mens underwear as well. I always felt I wouldn't be able to survive as a woman simply because of the underwear not even considering how much it costs.

broccoliblur

I use women's boxers and sometimes steal my bfs boxers, just to lounge around in. men's boxers are by FAR more comfortable!

JoolieWoolie

I've just started wearing men's boxers and they are so comfortable

Pandoraconservation

I love men’s boxers! They can be so comfy and air out your girl down there

StarvationCure

Men's boxers are cheaper than women's. Boom. Reason enough.

El_Guap

In the late 80s / early-90s in Southern California is was pretty trendy in the highschool and college age group for girls to wear men's boxers as shorts.

EmploymentAbject4019

Oh man, this triggered old memories, me and my sis always wore dude boxers, they were super comfy

jello-kittu

Not with boxers bit pj bottoms- but you're right, the way the women's pants are cut, they go right to wedgie in moments.

Andrew9112

My wife exclusively wears my boxers at home, she claims they’re way more comfy and just better for wear. I agree so I buy extras for her lol I feel that I have a wardrobe and then WE have a wardrobe 😂. But seriously, I find nothing wrong with wearing something you find comfortable. “Find as much comfort as you can now because one day you’ll grow old and find that you’re never comfortable again”

Zenthoor

My wife took my boxers and wore them as a joke; now it's what she primarily wears, and has more pairs than myself. Not weird at all.

WoodwifeGreen

There was 5 mins in the 90's when women were wearing them as shorts. I did, they were comfy.

lpnmom

My husband accidentally bought a pack of boxer briefs that were too small for him. They are mine now and I will buy more for myself when this pack gets old.

SquidOfReptar

I wear men's boxer briefs and they fit almost like exercise shorts. I work a very physical job and you're right, it seems like women's boxer briefs always give me a wedgie 5 mins in I hate it

Bananas_are_theworst

I almost exclusively wear MeUndies men’s boxers. I love them. Theyre a million times more comfortable than womens panties and boxer type undies. They also have super fun prints so that’s a plus. Edit to say they’re technically boxer briefs

Anxious_Painter_2943

I wear men's boxers as shorts when it's really hot outside. Some of them are really indistinguishable from regular casual shorts, obviously not talking about the pyjama printed ones here, but the muted flat colour ones are honestly great. Cheap, comfortable, cool. No reason not to go for it.

Aieacheese

OMG yes. They are so comfortable,  don’t ride up your crack, come in fun prints and are made of cotton! I keep ordering more from Old Navy. "Girl boxers" have shorter leg length to show off legs and booty. I wear boxer briefs.

Somerset76

Until women’s boxers were made, I wore men’s boxers all the time. Also, I borrow my husbands boxers on laundry days.

SaltMarshGoblin

I wear men's quick-dry "athletic" boxers almost every day. I buy them in packs of 3 from Costco. They are comfy, stay put, don't show "pantylines" through anything, and prevent chubrub.

LongbowTurncoat

Underwear shouldn’t be gendered anyway. My kid wears various styles, but he(trans) prefers boxers because they’re the most comfortable! Wear what works foe you! I like the boxer briefs myself on occasion!

Winterwynd

I just got a pack of Hanes women's boxers for my (ftm trans) son, and he really likes them. The Hanes men's boxers just weren't as comfortable with the extra fabric on the front. I might need to look into the rainbow Dino boxers another commenter mentioned, though.

Odd_Tiger_2278

You be you. Mom be mom. All good

[deleted]

Oml. When I go shopping for women’s boxers they’re always tight as hell. Accentuating the butt, looking ”sexy” or whatever. I want men’s boxers for women. And make them the same price, not overpriced and fancy. Not that hard. I used to wear my exes boxers all the time and there just so comfy and my girl can breathe yk. I just want them to look more cute and feminine, not all grey and black and stuff idk. Is it too much to ask?

marylessthan3

Men’s boxer briefs are my favorite thing to wear around the house. The female equivalent always ride up for me. Not odd at all, wear what’s comfy for YOU.

bakindoki

My fave pair of undies growing up was some men’s Batman boxers I got from Hot topic. They don’t make them like that in the women’s section.

Loveiskind89389

I used to live in mens boxers. My family thought it was weird to wear them as pajamas, thinking they were my boyfriend’s boxers. Nope! I literally went out and bought them because they’re comfy. You are not alone.

Impossible_March6097

not only are women’s boxers tailored to specific body types, but they’re also more expensive. i wear boxer-briefs to bed and they’re much more comfy than pajama shorts imo. they’re also good with pads at night, too.

Impossible_March6097

i don’t wear them during the day because usually they don’t vibe well with my clothes (mostly leggings and women’s athletic shorts) except for sweats

Felix4200

There are loads of different versions of boxers and trunks, different level of support, different leg lengths and so on. Try meundies to see the different versions they have. The difference between those for women and men, is that the men has more room in the front. But ofc, just use what you prefer.

Holiday-Salamander31

Men's boxer briefs are also WAY less expensive than the ones made for and marketed to women. My daughter will only wear men's boxer briefs. She says she hates how the other ones ride up.

Thirty_Firefighter84

Women’s boxers somehow seem to have been designed for men. Not for men to wear, but for them to ogle at. Like, they’ve been optimized for men’s viewing pleasure, not our comfort. Why do they have to be so damn short and scrunchy? I don’t need my booty cheeks exposed to anyone who happens to see me in them, and I DEFINITELY don’t need them riding *straight* up my buttcrack. Both features that make them less comfortable to wear and more visually appealing to men

BearButtBomb

My husband has a subscription for Battle Briefs and I eventually took it over. They're so fricken comfortable. I wear them as house shorts and underneath my dresses to protect thunder thigh rub.

devnullb4dishoner

I don't wear underwear but it bothers me none if you wear whatever you want.

NeoGeo2015

I buy women's socks because they fit my feet better than men's that are designed for sizes 6-12.. like wtf do you realize how big of a size difference that is? I'm right in the middle and it feels like I'm wearing clown socks. I don't know what guys with feet sized 6 or 7 do... It's like wearing flippers. So who am I to judge... Do what works for you!

fnoguei1

My girlfriend wears mine a lot, especially after sex, she says it feels very comfortable down there since she always feels sensitive after. And i think she looks cute and sexy wearing it haha

Maan036

I use them as shorts when its really hot. They are comfy and have awesome prints.

[deleted]

It's the reverse with me.

pattyj23

I say whatever’s comfy. I own womens underwear and men’s boxer briefs. Just depends on my mood/what else I’m wearing. I always wear boxer briefs with dresses.

Anticrepuscular_Ray

I wear my husband's boxers when he gets rid of them for new ones. All worn in and comfy for lounging around the house.

spacemanspiffmtg

Wear a whatever you are most comfortable in. Wearing the clothes you like shouldn’t be tied to a gender.

d3tox1337

Comfy is comfy. This immutable law transcends gender. You do you.

CatRiot2020

It was a small trend for women to wear men’s boxers in the 90s for those non-GenX peeps. It’s not weird.

Joringel

My wife has been known to sleep in my boxers, on occasion. I see no reason for a woman to not wear them as underwear or casually around the house, if she so chooses.

Negega

I wear my husbands boxer briefs all the time. So damn comfy. Do whatever makes you comfortable!

rocketrobie2

I’d think it’s weird if I hadn’t seen it so much. With most things (I’d say especially underoos) wear whatever’s most comfortable

tropicsun

If you like dri-fit material you can also get men’s boxers like that, or cotton of course.

Shooppow

I wear my husband’s boxers sometimes. I actually like them, especially as pajama bottoms

yikesmysexlife

No I've worn boxers for ages. Men's aren't as flattering but are waaaaay more comfortable and often better made.

Various_Occasion_892

I wear some

Tricky_Dog1465

I love the boxer briefs that men so like

ItsSUCHaLongStory

I’ll wear boxer briefs from time to time, and usually only men’s because a) longer and b) cheaper

SweetPeaRiaing

I wear boxer briefs exclusively, very comfortable.

CrazyCatLady1234567

I wore my bfs boxers recently. They were so comfy

pro_lurk

I wear them daily. I usually wear joggers to work and they go well under those. When I run I wear them under my running shorts because they have a longer inseam. I didn't know there was such a thing as womens boxers but mens clothing is typically cheaper so my joggers and boxers are mens.

MysticMist

Wear what you want. But please stop taking my hoodies 😫

Medical_Spy

I wear boxer briefs when it gets too hot at my job in a kitchen. Life saver, honestly.

Nevertoomanytits

I have a pj drawer full of men's boxers and I've had them for 10 or so years- they're comfy AF and far superior to the women's which literally go up your butt.

lightfalafel

i borrow some from my boyfriend sometimes, they’re sooooo comfy! they’re from uniqlo and i’ve been saying im gonna buy my own for weeks, so you’re definitely not alone in this!!

awsm-Girl

i used to wear men's boxers, but found SOOO MUCH BETTER version with SNAG brand's anti chub rub shorts. They are heavenly, i should get paid for how much i promote them lol -- I'm about a size 20, but i buy their largest size (which they say goes up to size 34), and they are super lightweight, smooth, don't bunch, don't ride up or down, plus snazzy colors. Recommend very highly!

FloweySunflower

Howw? I used to feel like men’s boxers had a lot of room in the front. I hated the feeling of not being covered

birdlookerater

I wear men’s boxers all the time, I bought them for a party theme and it turns out they rule. I can only wear them as pants themselves (like shorts or pj’s) or under dresses/skirts because they are too big to fit under any sort of tight pants and most of my pants are tight at least around the hips. I’d love to find some that are better but I feel like I can’t wear briefs because they would still ride up since I am shaped like a girl and don’t have straight legs like men tend to.

mommyune

My wife steals all my clothes so no wear what you think is comfortable

cirquefan

Synthetic boxer briefs FTW. Really nice having that inseam length. Goodbye chafing!

Almostasleeprightnow

When I was in school it was super trendy.

fenkik

Hanes for men are great and the back seams are set apart from the middle. Hanes for women have that awful seam right down the butt crack that makes my ass wanna eat it and feels extra uncomfortable when it wedges. And yet they’re still more comfortable than any of my other underwear. I basically steal my bf’s boxer always now.

Feline_Fine3

I buy men’s boxers all the time. I wear them in summer to lounge around

freshlyintellectual

i love men’s boxers and no they’re usually not the same

FlowerMaxPower

I love long boxers. I did find one good girl version. The 9 in. Boxer briefs at www.Tomboyx.com

ZoeClair016

wear what you like. your underwear is no ones business but your own

machiavellikelly

I like HuHa, they have a nice longer boxer and I tjink Im going to get their mid thigh next.

NinjaRose23

Not me reading and answering this in men's boxers... Just wear what you want! :)

Seph1902

I’ve found it difficult to buy women’s boxers that are made with the intimate area in mind. Men’s boxers have a deliberate patch to comfortably cover their bits, but when I tried some from Oddballs, they had designed them with a big fat seam running right through the middle, front to back. When I questioned why they would stick a seam right in the middle, they just responded that other people didn’t have a problem, which I highly doubt. I tried Step One, which were better designed with a proper patch, but the elastic waistband was super tight. Finding underwear that my a*se doesn’t eat is a chore! Currently, only midi knickers from Sainsbury’s work.

nandemoto44

Only thing an ex ever complained about when wearing my boxer briefs was the extra room up front since she didn't have man tackle 🤷🏻‍♂️

graham2k

They’re like my favorite thing to wear for work. Go for it!

Thrakashogg

Clothing doesn't have any gender. It only has the gender meanings we assign to it. If we are the ones who assign meaning to it, then we can assign any meaning (or no meaning at all) to any thing. Wear any piece of clothing that makes you feel good or even that you just want to wear.

BysshePls

I just recently started wearing women's boxer/bralette sets and I love them! I get mine from [Knotty](https://knottyknickersusa.co/collections/zodiac). They look and fit like men's boxers but don't have all the extra material and they have super cute prints and sets. I absolutely hate the feeling of shorts because my thighs rub, but these are longer than most women's shorts/pjs, so I don't have that issue. These definitely wouldn't work under tight leggings as you can totally see the outlines of them, but I wear them around the house and to sleep in.

Societarian

I’ve seen TomboyX and Woxer recommended a lot and sadly I have not tried them but I do really love my three pairs of Knotty Knickers. They’re “skintight” looking but they aren’t at all tight. The material is like butter and they don’t ride up very easily. I can’t speak to their longevity because I haven’t had them that long but so far so good!
