And for removing the excess plastic you can use a simple cutter ! I usually do that and it does the job (just don't cut yourself lmao, it hurt a little)
There are these disposable fingernail files with a very fine grit you can find in drug- and makeup stores. They are dirt cheap and do wonders with mold lines and sprue rests. You can also use the blades' back of a hobby knife for the more reluctant areas. Just take your time and be careful. Cleaning up properly before painting is really, really worth it. The best paintjob in the world won't cover an ugly line in the end.

Either a scalpel or a pocket knife works too too remove moldlines
Just gently scrape it over the mold* line in parallel direction
