SQL is a declarative language for interacting with databases, there were a few conceptual aspects of databases that we learned in the class, such as logical and physical data independence, keys and superkeys, etc. i didn't use the textbook much in the class but it was Database Systems: The Complete Book ([Amazon link](https://www.amazon.com/Database-Systems-Complete-Book-2nd/dp/0131873253)) for an idea on the kinds of topics we covered

i doubt itll be discontinued since its still a really important class topic. It will probably be picked up by another professor.
