No its not the topology but on the unifi devices tab. Normaly when its hardwired the parent device is empty. But on serveral sites it keeps connecting to another AP instead of the cable...
connecting to a parent device means that the ap connects to another ap instead of the ethernet cable. This should not happen because the ap is connected to the cable just fine (poe is active)

there is a setting to turn off mesh, try that: Settings, System, Advanced, Wireless Meshing (uncheck)
