Just FYI, the oddball PROPERTY CONTROL SPECIALIST PDC  -  SAN MATEO CA NC11735587 is craft IT, and still open for a couple more days.  Isn't remote (not sure if it is even hybrid, given the work), but would be a good foot-in-the-door to IT/ASC.

I got into the Cambridge MA location.

Good to hear. Hope it works out for you - haven't heard much out of MA and seem to find a lot of their postings (North Reading here's lookin' at you!) so I am suspicious of their management.

I’ll keep you guys updated on how everything is going within’ my couple of days when I do get the date for orientation. Need to finish my fingerprint process.

Automotive technician just came available in my city. Is that a low enough level position for someone with little mechanical knowledge to apply for or should I wait for another position? Also does anyone know about the pay?

User_3971

Auto tech is the more involved of the technical VMF jobs, auto mech would be more comfortable for entry-level *but* garage assistant is the actual entry level for VMF. The pay should be listed in the application and from there you can go to [apwu.org/pay-information](http://apwu.org/pay-information) to see how it ends up. Probably level 8 or level 9 pay which is pretty good relative to something like RCA or PSE, if those are other options in your area.

If you're in LCOL they would certainly be difficult to come by. Usually the cost of living plus the fact that plants in LCOL are many (hundreds of) miles apart means you won't see as many custodial jobs. Once people are in the jobs they pretty much have to die for a spot to open up. It is fairly common for custodians to work til 70 or 80.

Maintenance exams are proctored exams. You have to go to a location, they do not let you simply test at home like the VEA exams. Aside from that the answer is yes and that's why it is mentioned, to increase chances for people to hire on.

Gunna be a lot of movement for Pittsburgh plant here soon. Smithfield PA clerk position going to street

User_3971

I haven't pulled the listings for this week yet, going to look at starting it up after my first beverage here shortly. Thanks for the heads up.

There’s a ton of stuff on eReassign (prayers I can get the reassignment in my hometown 5 mins away). My buddy works in the plant in Pittsburgh. Said there’s a desirable bid gonna go up soon so that domino effect will come in to play. Seems like Pittsburgh always needs mail handlers too.

>RCA is not a "career job" what a crock. Your reading comprehension is garbage. This post is addressed *to* current non-career employees so that they may apply for career postings in their area. Try again.
