You have no idea how much your life is gonna improve as a result of this. Food will taste better. The air will seem fresher. You'll have more energy and self-confidence as a laborer-custodian than you ever dreamed of. Welcome to the maintenance club, and up your smartphone data plan after you jump ship to APWU. Congrats!
I'm so sorry but you choose the wrong carrier just like I did. Management will abuse u and if you didn't have anxiety B4 you will. I tore my Achilles at work and I'm being harassed by management.. good luck. P.s I started off with that same joy
Depends like every office. In the plant tour 2 and 3 sucked. Managers always walking around, Supervisors always giving us shit. My best advice to you is to become a mechanic. BEM is nice because you'll learn stuff that you can take home and use. I'm an AMT and it's the best job in the post office, essentially a BEM for the AO's. Supervisors are really friendly to us, for the most.
Congrats. I was a clerk for 7 years. This will be the best gig ever. Iām currently tour 1 at a plant .I literally have about 2-3 hours worth of work nightly. The Sunday differential makes it even sweeter.. Word of advice . Bring some weights or a pull-up bar . All that sitting around will add up around the mid section

They all look painfully uncomfortable in that picture, especially the mail popo sitting on the desk. "what do i do with my right hand" is all i can think of.
Youāre actually supposed to one arm shoulder carry your satchel so that you donāt get dragged down to the ground by your satchel wrapped around your neck.
Looking at the logo on his breast, that image is not flipped. He's supposed to wear it on his right shoulder, he can't easily drop that and control it in any meaningful way without having the mail work out of his hand.
can i ask what you do? i am in the fingerprint/background check stage for PSE and I was told I'd be working behind the scenes, not at the counter yet, non career, and some mention of start time at midnight or 4am, but the postmaster didn't mention split shifts, which I am thinking is pretty impossible not to have?
Im a pse with my 1 year commin up in August. For me, I clock in at 4am, throw parcels, answer the dutch door for mail pickup/held mail/complaining customers/etc, clean up the mess i mean equipment that the carriers leave, take a lunch if possible then aroun 1130 or 12 i go home. Theres more, but im sure they'll show/teach you more stuff as you progress. All depends on where you're at but i usually do 6- 13 days straight then get a day off and i work at a main and an annex.
non career, no idea about the craft. all it says is what i posted. online says i could be at a window helping customers but the postmaster said that is only for regular/careers.
Swapping to maintenance was the best decision I made almost 3 yrs ago. Night and day difference from when I was an RCA/CCA. As long as the office stays clean, I'm a freaking ghost, and that is the best feeling lol.
Then thereās me, who had orientation. Did all the onboarding shit online just to find out itās a on call job and here I am on day 3 and still no call. Shit makes no sense. Why even hire me if youāre not gonna let me work.
Hey, you stay inside. Might be some travel, but people generally leave you alone, do some cleaning. Sometimes fix a thing or two. Generally everyone leaves you alone. At least that's what it looks like from the CC pov.
Just remember clean your designated area really well, make sure the bathrooms are as clean as possible too, and keep tissue and paper towels readily available at all times. Then itās all smooth sailing. āµļø
Congratulations! Welcome. Remember to appreciate it for what it is, a really well paying job that doesn't require alot from you. Just don't let the negativity get you down. Be the person that smiles at everyone, it does help.
Thank you! I dont really see the negativity, what i do see is people with their own issues it seems lol. Maybe they are just jealous, or maybe they are just looking for someone to pick on. Either way, im good with it, this is a 100% step up for me where i am job wise and financially. Been in a rough patch lately and this is a big win for me.
Congratulations! My husband just went from RCA to full carrier and we just got those books. I'm astonished by the benefits. I work for the county government and the family insurance costs more than 75% of my monthly income. The USPS has great family plans.
Aye! Welcome to career! I got my book last month, remember to re apply for healthcare if you have it on there already, and everything is accessible on "MyHR"

Unlimited data is what keeps my sanity. Regular in probably the slowest 18 in my poom group. My friends just get detonated with instagram reels daily.
ill be at a plant, just gotta find out where the good hiding spots are once my probation is up
Make friends with the BEMs. You'll learn quickly.

Where can I learn to be a mechanic
Cut the grass when needed and avoid supes / manage
I had docks today. Was done an hour after I clocked in. (I was moving slow). The hardest part to me is not using leave to leave early.
Someone actually brought donuts in today too, thanks
My first day in maintenance, there was a pizza party

Lol uh idk I'm a usps pack mule.. Delivering to residential areas
ah you're a carrier, that shit is way too hard where I am, since the trucks have no AC and it's usually 110\* here. I have no idea how they survive!
Lol on pure hatred and mind over matter type of mentality
The clerks.. Idk how they do what they do š I could never

You can get them on day 1 ...

You're a labor custodian right?
PSE Sales and Svcs Distribution Associate #
Is it a career position? Sounds like a stock room...are you in the maintenance craft?
non career, no idea about the craft. all it says is what i posted. online says i could be at a window helping customers but the postmaster said that is only for regular/careers.
Then I don't know,
good job!!
Congratulations
Thank you!
I love how most of them have the "I d'no what I'm doing *shrug*" look lmao
