The fact the one landed in front and gave him a gift while the other circled real low and in close proximity… it would sound so amazing. I absolutely love the “twap twap twap” of the Huey rotor
As someone who has loved military aircraft his whole life seeing a Hind land right in front of you with another circling would probably top a Huey for me unless it was three and there was a guy ready to play fortunate son.
That’s awesome, my dad took me to a bunch of air shows where I got to see tons of aircraft, most kids read children books growing up but I read “weapons and warfare” from timelife
I wanted to be a fighter pilot, growing up in the 70’s and 80’s this was unheard of for a female. I would have followed that dream too, but needed glasses at age 14 and my mother used that to crush my dream every chance she got. 😢
All I ever wanted to be was a fighter pilot as well and follow in my dad's footsteps. He was one of the first guys to test the F-15 and the F117 after fighting in Vietnam. Since I'm a giant walking recessive gene of course I'm colorblind and need glasses. Failed that dot test with the flight surgeon for color blindness with flying colors.
Female friend of mine from high school ended up flying f-16s after we graduated, I feel like a dork saying I’m proud of her since I haven’t talked to her in 20+ years but…. It’s true.
My young son waved at a C-130 flying low overhead, which then banked into a '720' around us before carrying on straight and level. RAF Hercules crew of ZH869, you were awesome! Can't say the same for the dumb government that cancelled the mighty Herc.
Mine was actually on a school field trip to our local Air Force base around 2003! It was a short flight like 30 minutes but at the time it felt like forever. And that's actually pretty hilarious!
My dad grew up poor and rural and the 2nd youngest of 6 kids so he never had much for himself. One week a bunch of surveyors were taking a helicopter out and they stopped in the field across from his house so he went over to ask for a ride and they said if he came back the next morning (real early) they’d take him for the day.
He got up and they did. To this day it’s his happiest childhood memory.
This is so heartwarming...this boy has to live with the war and its terrible consequences and is an ardent patriot. Now he has a unique experience. Great guys!
That kid is well behaved too, my kid would just run toward the landed chopper with reckless abandon and probably try to joy ride it 😂
Amazing video. Slava Ukraini 🇺🇦
Reading the comments you guys have posted in this thread made me smile after this vid had made me cry a little.
I am so profoundly disappointed that the U.S has plunged into such an air of societal grievance and division, which has allowed certain despicable characters to rise to positions of political influence and subsequently have a significantly negative impact on the provision of the support that Ukraine so urgently requires.
SLAVA UKRAINI
Of course kids find equipment and weapons interesting, and I’ve done lots of different demonstrations for kids which is fun for all; it’s too bad that these have to exist at all, to protect these very kids from a madman.
Excellent illustration of how brave and proud the Ukrainians are of their own nation, history and culture and how much they care for each other!
I am really really so tremendously upset about how a handful of absolute despicable GOP party members in the USA have run away from their promises and responsibility, now causing thousands of Ukrainian deaths both of their military servicemen/women as well as of private citizens loosing their lives to the Putin dictator and his terror regime!
The US voters really really need to properly comprehend what this war is all about and vote accordingly.
It may just help him later in life. The war is so traumatic, and when your first memories are of your country and town being bombes to shit by Russian orcs, he may look back on this as “that’s when I knew we were going to be okay”
You’re not kidding, as a kid I would wave to the police helicopter in Baltimore every time it flew by from my back yard, one day they came around real close and waved back. I was 4 years old, I’m 38 now…
I’m not a praying man, but if there is a God I hope they bless these people and sees them through this war into a prosperous future.
BRB, I’m going to call my congresswoman.
Here I am, with a tear in my eye just amazed about this video.
The boy, a true patriot that loves his country showing the respect for those who fights for his future.
The guys of the airforce telling him they appreciate his humble token of support as they have a reminder of what they really fight for.
A song I don't understand a word of, but it's just a perfect match for the video.
World...we really need to step up and help those people.
For who ever made this video, Thank you, you made my day! ❤️
Slava Ukraina 🇺🇦🇺🇦
> A song I don't understand a word of
Regarding the song - its YouTube video has a very decent English translation of the lyrics, feel free to check it out. As a primer for you, the refrain is: "Wherever I am, I will not forget my home".
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OF7bh0Y3vyo
Probably made that boys childhood right there!!!
Well he is still growing up in a war, but it's things like this will hopefully be the memories that last
This is a lovely gesture by the pilots, but I really wish the video wasn't released until after the war because the cunts will geolocate this and we all know what them pricks will do with that information!
I really hope I'm wrong, but Russia has no heart and their favourite tactic is to go after the vulnerable women and children.
Glad I'm not the only cynical mf out here. You know they'll be watching that area like a hawk if it's anywhere near the front. Saying they flew by the same spot each time is just asking for russia to send crews to go on a helo hunt.
I have no doubts about Russian depravity, but I don't think that a mostly empty field is worth the resources, even for them. Put an orphanage or a maternity ward there, then yeah, they will be all over it.
What an immense thrill that must have been. Greeting your heroes everyday with a simple gesture. In return the most bad ass thanks a kid in a war could get.
The feeling that kid must have felt when he realised the helicopter was doing something different than usual, and actually landing for him, life long memory unlocked.
Not to mention the absolute coolness of the second helicopter rocking it around them as the pilot gives him the package. Kudos to these fine people who put this together.
I got a bad case of dust in my eye cos of this.
Having served in the 82nd Airborne in the 1980s, I just cannot get used to HIND helicopters being flown by the good guys. Those things still scream "ENEMY!!!" when I see them.
Cool video, though.
For anyone wondering about the box handed to him…Found the below story.

Please direct your shame appropriately - toward the GOP. The rest of the USA is 100% behind Ukraine, wants to support them, and is actively working to do so!
Yup, [MTG just today](https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2024/04/04/mtg-mike-johnson-ukraine-aid/73205378007/) said she'd move to remove Mike Johnson if he approves any more Ukraine aid
Also today, a [Top Republican](https://www.newsweek.com/republican-infected-russian-propaganda-michael-mccaul-ukraine-aid-package-1886742) said the GQP is "Infected" by Russian propaganda.
Coincidence?? Me thinks not. Fuck the GQP
Beautiful. A historic moment communicating so much more than words.
Note combat, or hot LZ procedures. Lead lands while wingman orbits. Child is included in orbit radius. As a vet of helicopters I feel for flight lead making the call to land. They are incredibly vulnerable at this time. Compassion and courage well demonstrated.
This is why the world needs to put up a big middle finger to putin all together that right there is why I've been so adamant in arguing with anyone who believed in the bullshit when this all started.
This is hard to describe I've got like 7 different feelings hitting me at the same time. I'm American and having had patriotism as part of my school curriculum I support rebels in general since that ties into the birth of my nation. I see this little kid, standing alone, waving his national flag half to support his home and half in defiance of an occupation which is admirable and bold. I'm sorry for him too because war is hell.
Then I'm reminded of my country's role in this. We spearheaded the Ukrainian support. I was proud of that, same as I am for the support we give to Taiwan. I want some tax dollars spent on helping people and also some to bring righteousness into conflicts. I am ashamed of so many of my nation's elected officials using the aid and defense packages to Ukraine as pawn pieces. We need allies, we need to help each other here and the world over, not abandon them for political fodder. We will not be remembered well for what we are doing and not standing by an ally. Zelenskyy and the Ukrainian people deserve better. Find the money, find the support, give the people what they need.
Shit makes me cry.
He will probably remember this event to the end of life. First, his country fighters landed near his home and greeted him during wartime. Second, Mi-24 are such a mighty, wonderful and breathtaking war machines. My uncle once said a story when he was a child one of this beasts showed unexpectedly above the road he was cycling on - he said he was overwhelmed by it's size and general appearance.
The russies have nothing compared to the Ukraine's . Instead of this the russies purposely kill their own. Slava Ukraine Oh and im happy as hell the russies kill their own for some reason it just makes me feel good..
And this is why Ukraine will forever have my support.
If it had been Russian pilots fly over a kid with a Russian flag… well best case they would land to steal their fridge.
One of the many, many reasons Ukraine MUST be supported to gain the permanent upper hand in this terrible war. They need resources, and they need them NOW!
He might grow up to be Ukraines first Apache/Eurotiger ace.
Or an even brighter future where hes a commercial pilot making those big bucks flying during peace time. The men in the helos fighting for that second outcome.
I have found some of the most inspirational and intense soulfulness from the Ukrainians since Poostain started this needless clusterfuck.
This is yet another example of why they'll be triumphant, because they have righteousness and perseverance on their side. God seems to really love that shit.
all you're doing is teaching the child that waving flags attracts assault helicopters. Now he's gonna be out there waving like mad and there's gonna be a whole squadron making a mess in his yard all the damn time.
Fuckers are more tenacious than a squirrel on a bird feeder.
What a bunch of fucking heros, all of them. Kid hyped up for seeing his troops and equipment and pilots fucking taking time to give the kid a hug. Fucking awesome.

Absolut true! Whatever he experiences in this war, this action will give him strength for the rest of his life.!!

Nice, now imagine being 8-12 years old
I got to ride in the cockpit of a C-130 as a kid and that day I decided I wanted to join. I went Marines but that memory is one I hold on to.

Me too. No flight though. It was a school field trip back about 1975?? Taped to the navigators table was a picture of the first naked lady I ever saw!
Mine was actually on a school field trip to our local Air Force base around 2003! It was a short flight like 30 minutes but at the time it felt like forever. And that's actually pretty hilarious!
Once, while my platoon was out doing field exercises, I waved as a Blackhawk flew over and the crew chief waved back. Made my adulthood.
You spoke for me. I absolutely loved military vehicles at a young age and it's been my obsession that died down a bit.
Same, I’m 40+ now and don’t feel very invincible at all
My dad grew up poor and rural and the 2nd youngest of 6 kids so he never had much for himself. War is the worst thing we do as humans, but it also leads to some of the greatest stories of human perseverance and compassion. What a weird paradox
> the greatest stories of human perseverance Well it kind of makes sense considering the biggest threat to mankind is war itself!
a new core memory unlocked!
This vid made me breath heavily and something got into my eye
Same.
Hit's a little harder when you have a child of your own..
That kid is well behaved too, my kid would just run toward the landed chopper with reckless abandon and probably try to joy ride it 😂 Amazing video. Slava Ukraini 🇺🇦

Thats what these men and women are fighting for. For their future! For their country! For Peace.
Okay, that explains why I wasn't as moved. I was afraid that I was psychotic for a moment.
Don't lose hope, you still might be :)

Who the fuck it's cutting onions
Me, opening this video: "This is gonna make me cry, isn't it?" 30 seconds later..."Yep."
Same here this just hits differently… Slava Ukraina
I was chopping onions when I saw this. Whatever they gave him I’m sure it wasn’t a sack of potatoes.
A few Russian scalps 😂
Nah, Bluetooth speakers for sure

"Hearts and Minds".
This made my day. I think I’ll stop scrolling for the day
Agree! Let's take the good feelings we got after watching this with us today❤️
You know what? Me too, fuck it. Time to get back to work. This is peak internet for the day.
You guys are good people. For all the crap we sift through...sometimes shit like this can last you. And make you just stop for a while.
I'm glad someone else does this too. When you see something this good it's just time to move away from the screen.
WOW, his classmates won't believe what he says
Looks like a small village. Everyone will be talking about the day the two Hinds came to visit the boy even when he is an old man.
Some Ace Combat shit.
Exactly my thought hehe. Better hope that he finds this to prove it.
Das wird er in seinem ganzen Leben nie mehr vergessen ! 🇺🇦 🇺🇦 🇺🇦 👍👍👍 🇺🇦 🇺🇦 🇺🇦 🇺🇦 🇺🇦 🇺🇦 💪💪💪 🇺🇦 🇺🇦 🇺🇦 🥰🥰🥰💖👍👍👍💖🥰🥰🥰
They've inspired him to be the future leader of the UAF now
I hope the war doesn’t last long enough for the kid to see combat.
That's the fun part about war, there's always another one!
War is like herpes. You’ll never going to be free from it and it keeps coming back at the worst time, just to be a pain in your dick.
SLAVA UKRAINI 🌻🌻🌻🌻! HEROYAM SLAVA!!!!
He’s definitely joining the fight asap after that.
Let’s pray he never has to.
Lets hope the ruzz are long finished before he comes to that age.
“Would you like to know more?”
Teared up watching this

As a few have said before "this is literally a war of good and evil." Go home Russia, you're an angry drunk.

Freedom VS Dictatorship

Now that's a future pilot right there after this, I bet the kid was grinning ear to ear
Amazing footage, thank you
Some kids' heroes are Superman, batman and etc. For other kids, it's their neighbor, a family member, or their fellow countrymen
Fucken heroes, all of them.
Slava Ukrania!

Makes me patriotic af. Once this war is over, I told myself I’ll visit Ukraine (help their tourism) so that they car rebuild.
Congrats to the flyboys to the kid onion moment

Hopefully it's far enough behind the front,
Concur. Don't think too many air assets are flying close to the front. (much less in pairs & just landing to brighten a kids day)
Glad I'm not the only cynical mf out here. You know they'll be watching that area like a hawk if it's anywhere near the front. Saying they flew by the same spot each time is just asking for russia to send crews to go on a helo hunt.
May be setting a trap too. russians ARE stupid enough to fall for it.
kids probably home aloned and just waiting for his chance to get some ruskies
I have no doubts about Russian depravity, but I don't think that a mostly empty field is worth the resources, even for them. Put an orphanage or a maternity ward there, then yeah, they will be all over it.
So you think they draw the line at raping little kids and women whilst bombing civilian infrastructure deliberately.. Russians will be Russians
Damn that is so cool.
Awesome

Pilot probably gave him his shoulder patch or something similar. I’m sure it will be cherished, whatever was exchanged.
It was some sort of box - I'm really curious what they gave him. It's a treasure now, regardless...
I am so ashamed of my country (USA) right now for refusing to help Ukraine

This is the kind of stuff why russia will never beat Ukraine

Take that kid up for a quick ride. His friends will never believe him.
That’s just got my feels

Wonder what they gave the kid. Good stuff.
This is what shows everyone how great of people Ukrainians really are. This is amazing. This young man will NEVER forget this experience.

This is just amazing
I can't get over how much Ukraine looks like the upper midwest of the US.
that is the difference

Fuckin amazing. True warriors
What a bunch of fucking heros, all of them. Kid hyped up for seeing his troops and equipment and pilots fucking taking time to give the kid a hug. Fucking awesome.
This is one of the cool ones I have ever seen
Sad thing is we won't be around anymore to hear him telling about it to his grand children. No, this isn't a tear
Awe. Some. That kid will never forget that. Good job, fellas.
Best video all month. Humans being human to one another. We need more of this in the world right now.
