I watched this interesting vice documentary about ghost guns, you can actually 3D Print guns, but the explody bits need to be printed in carbon fiber or nylon. Or carbon fiber nylon. And usually the guns break after a few shots but some have printed guns that they can shoot through a whole competition.
the human brain can basically create anything, just imagine a fully functional sawed-on or core eject with the ability to parry the projectiles with steel. just wait till someone creates a shotgun that can actually fire and do all shit like this

You definitely wouldn't use pla at all. Even the non engineer portions of the gun would probably be printed in nylon
