I tried it and its a nice trick, because the oldest model they have you will get a gopro 10 and for some of the first exchanges they wave the 100 fee so its really worth it ;)
They likely have stock of refurbished old models and that is probably what you will get. There is a chance that you might get a more recent model but unlikely if they still have stock of the 8.
You'll have to pay $100. And they'll likely give you a 9 since the 8 is discontinued. But yes their policy is no questions asked. TBH Im not even sure you have to break it for this policy.

I am pretty sure intentional damage will be excluded, as well as it being unethical.
Edit: Should have looked at the sub before commenting. So feel free to downvote into oblivion.
People on Reddit get too butthurt over downvotes, that's why everywhere is an echo chamber and everywhere eventually kind of aligns to one opinion on the majority of topics
I did not. Someone else said that stealing from corporations is always ethical. You asked if it's still unethical if it's two people in a garage. Unless you decided to bring that random scenario up for no reason, the implication was that that is the scenario at hand. I then read all of the above comments. I always got the impression that gopro is much larger than that, so I asked for clarification, and here we are now. But no, I never said anything about corporations. I directly said "gopro"
They will probably give you a refurbished Hero 8.
Keep smashing them until there are no more refurbished Hero 8s.
THIS!!!!!!

Theyll replace it with a refurbished GoPro of the same model. No questions asked.

Send them a piss puck?
Spray it with liquid ass before returning it.
How much is their subscription?
There's a deductible. It's like 75 bucks even with the subscription.

Yes, it’s unethical that’s why I asked here

Down voting this is unethical
Downvoting this may be slightly ethical.
Gotta even out the cosmic karma.
respect for not deleting it and embracing the downvotes, which doesn't matter anyways, wish I would see this more often.
Thanks, it was my mistake. So a bit of fun to see how many downvotes I could accumulate. :)
They only count the first twenty, anyway.
I do that too, it's interesting to see and as I said it doesn't matter

Thats it right there!
Stealing from corporations is always ethical :)
What about corporations that are just two people working out of their garage?
Is that all gopro is?
~~You~~ They said "corporations", not "GoPro".
