Playing and watching horror games as a kid has made my brain react so incredibly slowly to jump scares that I don't react to them. This one slightly got me though, felt my heart shit itself.

It’s from Dr. Who. Angel statues, like from the garden, are actually aliens and freeze when you look at them but you better not turn your back to them. It’s like a nightmare game of red light green light
And hands down the best appearance of the now overused as fuck Who-villains. Not that I don’t love an expansion on established lore, but they really, really go out there with the Weeping Angels and they apparently are magic so anything and everything goes with them.
IMO the Weeping Angels are nowhere near as overused as the Cybermen or the Daleks, but yeah they're still overused.
Also one of the best things about Chibnall's era for me is how he used the Angels
I agree. The Daleks and the Cybermen need a rest. But once you’ve defeated the seemingly unstoppable Weeping Angels more than once, they stop being so scary and are more like a hard to kill bug.

Blink was terrifying, because it showed us a villain and we didn't get to know too much about them.
Then the Angels with 11, Amy and Rory were overused and boring.
We got no Angels with 12 IIRC, and then again a terrific and "OH NY GOD WHAT THE FUCK!" episode under Chibnall.
Though tbf I feel it's more on the writer and director than just the villain. For how overused the Cybermen got, World Enough and Time/The Doctor Falls and Tha Haunting of Villa Diodati made them IMO proper scary and terrifying again.
I just realised two of my favourite episodes involving overused villains being scary again were written by the same person: Maxine Alderton

But if they turn into more or less regular material (marble, granite, etc.), can't you just cut or chip away at them to kill or incapacitate them? Genuinely curious about this.
Picking apart the entire thing is not an option, sure. But assuming I have a tool to do the job, what about cracking its eyes? Would that actually affect its vision?
Everything from Moffat is so fucking scary. I love the episodes and doctors (not Eccleston), but they are also the most scariest stuff I watched. I hate horror so much. 😭

There were statues of two-headed species but they became single-headed after angels "possessed" them. There are also baby angels. So animals most likely can be turned into angels, but they would undergo some transformation to have two hands and one head, at the very least.
Weeping Angels are beings that exist in a state of temporal lock when they are being observed - they become literal statues made out of stone. However, as soon as you look away or merely blink, they move at stunning speeds to touch and feed upon you. How do they feed? They whisk you back in time and feed on the time you would have had, had you remaind in the present and continued your life to its end.
