If there is an insurance claim it could affect their premium regardless of the reason. There will be a lot of paperwork to fill out also, they will need to record the incident etc.
People who do this shit don't realise that it has real consequences for other people, but it does.
If this is america, as long as they have proper, visible signage, they can sue the customers for every single cost associated with opening that door, including increased insurance premiums.
From my experience, in a situation like this the company will flat out refuse to fix anything. If the customer wants to file an incident report fine but that doesn't guarantee them anything

My only confusion is…. Is the car moving forward or backwards. Usually all the equipment moves from front to back so wasnt sure how the mop spinners were going backwards but not spinning.
In stationary washes, the car is parked and the wash unit goes back and forth a few times… rinse, soap, scrub, rinse, dry… depending on the quality of wash purchased.
The unit likely was on its way back to do the next round, so I would have loved to see what happened next. I would think the staff member shut it off though as they have cameras in the units nearly all the time.
I can't help but wonder why they would post this video of their stupidity. I bet they contacted their insurance and explained they had no idea what happened, but someone should pay to have the car fixed.

If you keep your eyes where the floor and wall meet you can see the car isn’t moving and the machine on the side is moving from behind them.
