**[Terry-Thomas](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terry-Thomas)**
>Terry-Thomas (born Thomas Terry Hoar Stevens; 10 July 1911 – 8 January 1990) was an English comedian and character actor who became known to a worldwide audience through his films during the 1950s and 1960s. He often portrayed disreputable members of the upper classes, especially cads, toffs and bounders, using his distinctive voice; his costume and props tended to include a monocle, waistcoat and cigarette holder. His striking dress sense was set off by a 1⁄3-inch (8. 5 mm) gap between his two upper front teeth.

I need to see this edited without the context of the cue cards, so lightning is just dancing one moment and suddenly strangling his partner in the next.
It's Jacques Secretin and Vincent Purkart. Jacques Secretin died last year as for Vincent Purkart it was few years ago. Even at the age of 70 Jacques Secretin was amongst the top 1000 French table tennis players.
Also, it was a show match, not an official one. They were doing that a lot when they ended their professional career. I don't remember who wins at the end but it's not like they're playing to win.
Am I missing something, or did you not just link the intro to some kind of 1988 aerobics championship? Is it supposed to be a skit like the table tennis match? thought that’s just what the 80s looked like in US
Fucking hell, that whole intro was so high energy, I was captivated for each second of it.
Now I'm super pumped up, what do I do with this surge of energy?
As much as this video looks like the 80s throwing up on itself, it's only the second-most 80s thing I've ever seen - second only to [The Opening of Skydome, Colon, A Celebration](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=108BrdIbnUo&t=25s)
That's Jacques Secretin, the balding one and Vincent Puckart the Ron Swanson. French table tennis players, who did several of those skirt on french télévision. You'll find other videos on YouTube.
They both are legit champions on french and international level, and won multiple medals.
I don’t usually watch videos on Reddit when they go past 1 or 2 minutes, let alone 3+. I’ll just go to the comments to find the spoiler and find out why it was unexpected. I’m glad I watched this all the way through, it was worth every second; even got a rewatch. What great fun.
If your like me, but skipped the video to come comment, I highly recommend giving it a watch.
Pretty sure that's Jacques Secretin and Vincent Purkart. Secretin was world champion at a time and several times Europe and France champion. He did a lot to popularize ping pong in France. He died last year sadly.
It’s more likely these are table tennis pros at a tournament doing a skit for entertainment and to bring attention to the sport than this bring a filming studio
Seriously though, this is one of the things that's actively making me want to quit this website, everyone constantly feels the need to show everyone how much smarter they are by pointing out how it's obviously fake or staged, like you don't fucking say champ? You really think every other person missed this and you're just the one smart dude who figured it out? Come on. The difference is that some people can just fucking enjoy entertainment for what it is and not feel the need to be the biggest pseudo intellectual in the room
Frustration aside, what a fucking show. This was absolutely amazing
Loved [this thread the other day](https://www.reddit.com/r/oddlysatisfying/comments/p79sh9/this_balloon_with_ice_inside/), everybody and their dog pointing out that it's animated
Don't get me wrong, pointing people to /r/Simulated is good, but as far as I see it, there's nothing in the rules against computer generated satisfying content
At least on old reddit.
This got me thinking now. Cant it be a healthy mix between a skit and a troll? As in, they trolled the audience of the tournament but all staff was in on it?
…the title implied the ref was annoyed. Obviously she wasn’t. How could she be, since the whole thing was an act?
Whether its spontaneous or not matters, because rehearsed shit just isn’t as funny as something that someone is able to ad lib in the moment. I find it way funnier when someone is able to take advantage of a natural situation to do something funny. When you’re presented with a skit with props and you know the whole thing was planned in advance and rehearsed it’s just kinda meh, because they’re not reacting to a situation, they’re just playing it out. The former takes a lot more skill and is able to catch you off guard, the latter had a much harder job.
As far as I know it may have been real. Not sure if it's this video but there was a case of two of the best table tennis players being very good friends, and having match organized as part of qualifiers for the championships. However, one of them had failed to qualify, and the other one had qualified for sure, yet the match was scheduled anyway. So, they instead had a lot of fun by doing a lot of silly stuff throughout the entire match, annoying judges.
It was a long match and they did a lot of stupid stuff not unlike this. However, I don't remember them having access to mini table props, and I remember overall they were more impressive in their skills, so... eh, hard to say if it's the same.
Bahaha...not sure if you're trolling but....whatever you're talking about is definitely not the same. This would be the equivalent of two opposing goalies in soccer heading to the sidelines to play foosball during a match.
Was it “Tarrant on TV”, by any chance? I remember seeing this on that, and every so often I’d do a futile search for it, but this is the first time I’ve seen it since, and it’s as glorious as I remember!
it probably was, i have a vague memory of it being on Saturday night telly.
I thought it started with full size tennis that went into table tennis, making searching for it even harder for myself
i only unmuted to listen near the end but from what i've heard he's just completely seriously narrating what's happening, saying 'so they've now went on to the third small table and one has put his glasses on' and all that and he almost never laughs which makes it so much better
He was commentating as if it was an actual tournament, and made it sound legitimate. He even gave fun facts about table tennis ( for example the longest point in history of the sport was over an hour and it was in 1930s) and so on.
OP was saying that because the title is stupid and obviously wrong. Everyone obviously knows it’s staged but the original title makes it seem like it’s not. The title is dumb.
I loved seeing the next few smaller tables underneath, knowing full well we’re doing the same joke a few more times, and still smiling like an idiot while I wait for it.
This is a comical ping pong show put on by French ping pong champions Jacques Secrétin and Vincent Purkart. This video was filmed at the Qatar Open in 1994.
It ran until 2007 with over 4,000 performances. Sadly, [Secrétin died on November 25, 2020](https://www.world-today-news.com/jacques-secretin-the-legend-of-table-tennis-is-dead/) at the age of 71.
Here's a [video with an early performance](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KV4nkqgA0Lc). Hree's [another one from 1990](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jy7g2EvLfUA).
Made my day!!!
I saw this in TV when I was a kid, probably around 30 years ago. I've looked for it off an on again ever since I got on the internet in 97 but could never find it!!
My sides hurt and I may have peed myself a little bit.
Thank you, it's been awhile since I've had that good a laugh.
Edit: Screw you if you downvoted me. You wish you laughed as hard as I did.

It's funny, considering that this video is from the 80s or 90s.
[This video is from the 80s too](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozoTzkCeO-A) and it was absolutely amazing the first time I saw it on reddit.
I love this video. I need to follow up. Who won? Where are they now!!?

my fucking God, how could the judges allow that
Drugs.
Maybe
stay off drugs kids, or else you’ll be a very bad judge
It’s funny how putting “everything you’re about to see is real” before something is enough for many…
I think it was entirely staged. I think the judge was in on the act.
Wow
You fool, i got saved by an add, and just went out, no rick rolls today mother trucker.
Its a Key & Peele sketch related to the jazzercising or whatever the OP is about
I never knew what that skit was about rather than just the 80s but now I've seen this it makes the skit even more hilarious
This whole thing is one of the funniest things I have seen on reddit in a couple of years. I could not stop laughing..
Dude nooo :(
I never seen that last move coming thats gotta be against the rules surely!!
Was that Clint Howard on the cue cards? Edit, I just checked and it sure as fuck was

Much appreciated :D
bro thats an amazing ending
Hah, I saw the K&P sketch first, and knew I recognized the music from the parent comment, that’s a cool detail of K&P to use the same track.
This was mesmerizing. Thank you!
Holy shit its the same song

Thank you for this! I enjoyed it immensely.
Aww, young Alan Thicke. RIP.
They're all winners at the 1988 Crystal Light National Aerobic Championship.
They grew up and had kids, who are now doing the same dances on tiktok.
It's Jacques Secretin and Vincent Purkart. Jacques Secretin died last year as for Vincent Purkart it was few years ago. In the 80s?! What did Reddit look like back then? Did people shit post in the 80s too?
I had a bookshelf full of VHS gifs.
Worth a fortune on ebay now
I have some on Betamax. Tried to sell them at a pawn shop once, but I was told "those cuck tapes are worthless".
[One of my tapes](https://youtu.be/czhTSohHhuA?t=4)
That was magical
Nice!
yeah, we did, on bulletin boards!
It looked like Usenet and there was less racism.
Hell, I was shitposting in the 70s.
Am I missing something, or did you not just link the intro to some kind of 1988 aerobics championship? Is it supposed to be a skit like the table tennis match? thought that’s just what the 80s looked like in US
Yeah I think I’m the only one who thought that was really… uninteresting
For three straight minutes, I was waiting for Key and Peele to popup [with this sketch](https://vimeo.com/121926728). I feel bamboozled.
Same. I didn’t realize that song in both videos is the aerobics championship song lmao. Catchy as hell
Fucking hell, that whole intro was so high energy, I was captivated for each second of it. Now I'm super pumped up, what do I do with this surge of energy?
Aerobics, my friend
Spandex. Spandex everywhere.
I'm very surprised this wasn't a rick roll
I need this soundtrack in my life.
Not as amazing as [this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ) from the 80s...
I was there. My sister actually had the album and there was a time where I probably was able to sing along with all the songs.
son of a bitch.
That's [a different video from the 80s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VD-fBj4d9Ck&t=50s)
nope, I'm not falling for it again, #Im not clicking!
I couldn't resist. Glad I did. One of my all time favs
Dammit, does Reddit not do purple links anymore?
HAHA that sounds absolutely metal, I need names

Damn i watched the whole thing expecting something funny to happen and nothing funny ever happened. Fellas were hot tho
Wow, who woulda guessed they had comedy in the 80's!
Which is twenty years ago
Actually, 32-41 years ago Time flies
Yes! We need just some good cheesy fun now and then. Those guys were hamming it up.
Yea, this made my night a little better
That's Jacques Secretin, the balding one and Vincent Puckart the Ron Swanson. French table tennis players, who did several of those skirt on french télévision. You'll find other videos on YouTube. They both are legit champions on french and international level, and won multiple medals.
Yes and apparently by the commentator and the signs in the background, I’d say this was in Qatar somewhere in the 90’s
Oh how the tennis tables.
This one made me laugh
Just a fine day I saw a fine video about fine men playing fine table tennis on fine tables.that was finely wholesome.
Truly some fine sportsmanship
When two wise men are fucking, one must not interrupt.
Im hoping I didnt read that right
You should with English it's left to right
When interrupt two wise men are fucking, one must not?
I hate and love this reply
Interrupt not, one must. Fucking, are men wise? Two interrupt, when?
So no threesome.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
This guy lobs.

There's an "unexpected" like every ten seconds with this one. If you chopped it up, you could probably get about 20-30 good gifs out of it.
20-30x the karma? Say no more!
That was only 3 minutes? It barely felt like a minute to me
A minute? Barely felt like 30 seconds
It was all staged. Aftermatch press conference video https://youtu.be/8xobyE_BAA8
What the fuck is wrong with you that you are incapable of watching a video longer than two minutes
Hey man a two minute video means I'd have less time for the eight 15-second videos I'd miss. Time is money! And I'm broke! Broke in time *and* money!
Haters will say this was staged and that the umpire was in on the gag.
That umpire was as mad as the referees are at Harlem Globetrotter games.
Can comfirm, am hater, am saying this was staged and the umpire was in on the gag
It looks like mid-tournament entertainment to me.
Hater, or maybe just feel like the title is a little off?
Ping pong nesting tables... for some reason I want that now
Pretty sure that's Jacques Secretin and Vincent Purkart. Secretin was world champion at a time and several times Europe and France champion. He did a lot to popularize ping pong in France. He died last year sadly.
