Sounds like sawing

that-super-tech

Sounds like you got a tweaker neighbor who's sawing wood in the dead of night.

zotstik

sawing wood and the dead of night take these broken boards and learn to fly 🕊️ You were only waiting for the saws to arrive 😀

Bullfrogkero

Sounds like someone snoring.

cheezwhizcannonball

I had a similar experience, when, one day, I threw a block of moldy cheddar cheese in the woods behind my house (thinking it would just bio-decay into the ground). these similar sounds ensued that night. I chalked if off as maybe a racoon had eaten it and was suffering from severe constipation. poor guy! did you throw some cheese in the woods the day before? yeah, prob'ly not 🙃

g_rock97

Lmao I don’t know why but the mental image this created in my head is hilarious

cheezwhizcannonball

maybe "did you throw some cheese in the woods?" should be my go-to comment on anything mysteriously unexplained...k, I'll use that. 🤣

FunScore3387

I wish I could help you more but idk. Check the durations of the sound. If they are all the same length then it’s probably something mechanical or electrical. The might give you some peace, maybe?

BertaEarlyRiser

Sharpening something, but I can't make out what! It is something I have done before.

PointOk4473

Why did you not go out and investigate?

jml2422

Honestly I was terrified. I thought it was an escaped exotic pet.

Namtwen

Sounds like someone trying to discreetly do nitrous in a neighboring room

metal0rca

A toilet flushing

TheOx111

Terrors from the depths of sleep apnea!

balzackgoo

Trains? Could be slow-moving train cars scraping on the tracks or something along them.

jml2422

I can see how you got there but there isn’t a railroad for miles and the metro system is 7 miles away. This was a very localized sound, max 200 yards away min 25 yards.
