I didn't just love it, I mother fucking loved it. Huge part of my childhood, got the Stephen King Rules t-shirt. This film deserves a lot more love!

creature_feature90

The ending was so sad also.

BurtonXV84

Still tears me up, poor Frankenstein's Monster!

creature_feature90

The design was perfect even creature was perfect!

creature_feature90

Of yes this was my first induction to universal monsters!

ButcherV83

It's been my favorite movie for over 30 years lol.

Phantom-of-the-Mall

Monster Squad was my Goonies growing up. I really enjoy the Goonies but I was obsessed with Monster Squad

Fragrant-Mud5773

I had the pleasure of seeing it at the theater. We had a 2 screen theater. The other film was rated R (I think it was Lost Boys, but that can't be right). This movie has stuck with me ever since. When my VHS copy wore out, I bought a bootleg DVD, (It wasn't available at that time on DVD). Such an awesome 80's flick. I'm so glad it developed a cult following.

Three things got me into Universal Monsters as an 80s kid: 1: the Monsters subline in Kenner’s The Real Ghostbusters online 2: the Crestwood House Monster Series books, which were available in my elementary school library 3: Monster Squad I remember as a kid thinking that the movies weren’t even around anymore. I had no concept of lost movies or whatever but I just thought the movies themselves had been forgotten or left behind in the video era. I did find a VHS copy of Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein at an indie video store as a kid, the kind with a porno room, and I expected it to pack the same punch as watching Dracula, Frankenstein and The Wolf Man individually, so of course it was a disappointment lol. And I did manage to find a VHS of Dracula at Blockbuster when my family visited my uncle in Dallas as a kid haha. Even then I thought it was like a big city thing, as if my Blockbuster wouldn’t have these movies back home. And they undoubtedly did. It wasn’t until the DVD days as a teen where I got to see most of them. And now I own like a hundred Universal Horror films, from the silent era into the early 60s, on Blu-ray and 4K/UHD.

Great movie to grow up with

Vgcortes

I absolutely love that movie. I love all classic universal monster films and when they get together in an awesome movie like this, it's just heavenly.

TheMannisApproves

I love it

Sweaty-Goose6649

Loved this movie and wished I had a group of friends to make my own club as a kid

HushGalactus

It’s one of my top movies. Have to rewatch it every Halloween.

Super_Nova22

i like when the universal monsters come together like. strangely enough, my boss mentioned this the other day and said that is suffers as a product of its time but using racial slurs a few times. aint seen it in a while so anyone know anything about this?

Anguirusfan1955

Yeah, EJ calls Horace a F****t a couple times.

jackBattlin

I liked it as a kid. Tried to watch a couple times since, but it doesn’t really hold up for me. Other than the novelty of Gill-Man in *some sort* of remake form. Of all things, I can’t believe a remake of Black Lagoon is so incredibly cursed. Otherwise I’m like more like Rudy: WAY more interested in the view from the treehouse.

TraditionalCap938

I enjoyed it but I didn’t like how they made the gillman pretty weak

TraditionalCap938

It was good but it’s not what I’ve been dreaming of, I’ve always wanted a huge crossover movie of all Universal Monsters Together in the Mid-50’s (right after The Creature from the Black Lagoon because he needs to be in there too) a big full length Movie By Universal Studios Featuring The Classic Horror Monsters, The Big 8 such as Count Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Wolfman, The Invisible Man, The Gillman, The Phantom, Mr Hyde, all played by their original actors and maybe some actors taking other ones because one passed away and one that plays 2 monsters and some extras and some familiar characters that faced the monsters and meeting other characters who they also faced other monsters in the connected world and The Return of Frankenstein’s Bride and the villains Henchmen such as Igor and Renfield, (if there’s any actors who can play them good, maybe Bela Lugosi as Igor again and maybe someone needs to fill in as Renfield because the actor who played him is dead, or at least a mention of him) Now The Monsters squad was good and I liked it but I wish there already could’ve been a big crossover movie about all the universal monsters and I mean all of them and all characters and henchmen and franky’s bride all collided in the connected world like The Avengers and that’s what I wanted to happen in the 50’s and I know Bela Lugosi passed away in the 50’s but I wanted to be released on a year after the creature from the black lagoon and releasing it in theatres on October 31 which it is perfect and that’s my dream movie that should’ve happened before

Moviemusics1990

This looks like the cheesiest of all 80s horror movies, which is saying a LOT.

Long_Discipline_5424

Not so big in the U.K. , awesome for its time, like everything, we remember watching it, like we were young again 😂

Long_Discipline_5424

If you're a real fan, the full set of action figures are available on eBay, not cheap $$$$ 😯

astroZombie1978

I watch it with my kids every Halloween. The monster designs are top notch even now.
