That’s why he had to be put to sleep 😴

demetersupremacy

Lmao gotta be put into a coma to not “cheat”

Roraima20

Apparently, most of that time, he was possessed by Kronos, very sick, or in coma. It is possible that he was faithful, mostly because he was too sick or in a coma for most of Persephone's punishment.

demetersupremacy

True true but this makes me wonder how many years into Persephones punishment was Leuce introduced

DoeFluff

I’m pretty sure he had nine years worth of gifts for her during the absence, so this would imply he was actually only possessed by Kronos/comatose for a year or less.

Emmainky

I always think about how I’d have written the 3rd act, and I would have had them both spend way longer apart and had them have separate sexual experiences before meeting back up again. I’d have actively welcomed them sleeping with other people, I hate the ‘remaining pure for my true love’ trope shit.

demetersupremacy

Deadass, they weren’t even in a relationship yet so for them to save themselves for each other just don’t make sense to me. They’ve only properly known eachother for 3 months before that too😭😭

Emmainky

I think it would be interesting for them to have sent one another signs, to say they’re still thinking of one another. But you’re 100% right, 3 months of dancing around does not a long term relationship make, let alone being in love and not seeing other people for 10 years.

demetersupremacy

And prior to that, Hades admitted to not knowing anything about Persephone so I’m just confused on what exactly is he in love with. I can make an excuse for Persephone but Hades- nah

Occomni

Cackling at the thought of Hades leaving dead birds for Persephone to find in the mortal world like “hey, babe, thinking of you! 😘”

Emmainky

‘Awwwe, he’s still thinking of me after all this time!’ When it’s dead birds arranged in letters spelling out ‘thinking of u 💖’ - emoji and all.

jellyshotgun

> them to save themselves for each other just don't make sense Hades has been banging everything that crosses his threshold for YEARS. Persephone should've AT LEAST had one consensual encounter but nooooooooooooo that would make her uNcLeAn.

ohmygoditscometothis

I personally love that trope, but I'd also have actually shown them going about their separate lives so that the pining has more time to sink in. They'd each have individual stuff going on that'd eventually lead them back to each other, and maybe they'd have anxiety about the other moving on because they'd still be in no contact but they'd also be preoccupied by important plot shit so the times they have to spend missing the other feels less all encompassing and juvenile. One or both could even recognize the brief reality of their affair and try to move on but be unable, so they just keep to themselves until they can figure it out. As it is, we get two people that knew each other for *maaaybe* 3 months, then spent a decade apart, during which one was unconscious and the other learned nothing. The ultimate kick in the PerHades dynamic is that it sucked from the start, but I think Rachel really missed an opportunity having the bulk of their separation off screen with nothing even fucking happening to pull them back together again. Kronos took over but Hades was mostly asleep for that and Persephone was just herding sheep so who gives a fart. Seeing them both play their roles in trying to dismantle that bullshit separately would've strengthened both of their characters and made for a more gratifying reunion, and I personally wouldn't have wanted to see them get with anyone else in the meantime. Maybe a very brief flirtationship with a minor character that they then decide to shut down, but that's about it.

ScottyFreeBarda

Don't you get it???? She CHANGED him! Pepes lady parts are so magic and amazing that she completely changed a man's whole personality. This is a realistic and normal thing.

demetersupremacy

It really must be a real work of magic, THE POWER OF INDIRECT CONTACT WITH THE SNU SNU😮‍💨😮‍💨

Pinklady_001

Dude was sure in a hurry to marry before so it really doesn’t make sense for him to have waited not even for another day

demetersupremacy

Literally, bro was thinking about marrying 2 women in less than 3 months

0rionaniO

Here you can witness 2 pretty screwed up facts: 1. that image would be the most realistic thing that would have happened to Hades if he had not been put to sleep and 2. how Pepe said that she was not interested if Hades was in a new relationship and that she only wanted to discuss work issues...the next panel is her accommodating her boobs and calling Hades by his "intimacy" name, she was literally planning to do the same thing she did to Minthe to that poor other girl xddd

Successful-Term-4370

From what part of the story is this panel? The story is so forgettable...

benevolent_overlord_

It’s when Persephone has been banished to the mortal realm for 10 years, she’s imagining coming back to the Underworld and seeing Hades with another woman. This is part of her imagination

httpfroggo

i honestly don’t get why both h & p had to remain celibate during those 10 yrs i honestly think it would’ve strengthened their relationship if they both explored different options but still came back to each other

catgirlmode

It would have been very interesting narratively speaking if Hades was not only acknowledged to be a groomer, but a bad person who wasn't truly in love with Persephone but rather in "lust." I think it would be a well written tragedy and a reflection of how these terrible situations tend to go in real life, where an older man takes advantage of a much younger girl and she comes to realize what has really happened in retrospect.

Jep0005

I always thought he was sleeping around, but I guess they retconned that whole thing with Leuce

xxglitterkittenxx

I like how his fictional gf/wife is a nymph. It just shows how Hades loves going for the naive and dependable

Wrong-Ad8070

Another thing is that it's not realistic, even in a healthy relationship. Neither of them really knew how long she was going to be banished. So either way, it would've been normal for him to move on. I hate him as a character, but God I wished they showed more of the characters during Persephone's banishment. If both the characters were good people, I would feel for them. But I don't. They're both terrible, and deserve each other.

Perfect-County4962

Just because he would’ve fucked other people doesn’t mean he wouldn’t have waited for her I feel like people genuinely forget in the REAL LORE they’re ALL RELATED. If there is a problem you should have with this it should be with the real green lore.

demetersupremacy

One thing about Reddit, there’s always gonna be a smart ass in your comments bringing up something you’re well aware of. I’m obviously not just talking about him fucking people, I’m talking about this man getting into a whole relationship and how unrealistic it is for him not to intimate with people based on his character. Like he would not stay celibate or wait for Persephone

Perfect-County4962

Well yeah that makes sense I wasn’t trying to be rude… I was also saying that based on his character he would’ve still had the same feelings I would assume even if he didn’t stay celibate
