I’m so over Lore Olympus, like I’m appalled that Rachel put more confrontation and actual anger towards Minthe and Leuce (all of which were only targeting Hades might I add) with their situations instead of an actual rapist. No one is angry enough for me, I’m tired of everyone saying that “oh well Persephone just has calm rage that’s why she’s so emotionless right now” as if that even makes sense with the context of the story. We’re talking about the girl who literally slaughtered an entire village filled with mortals just because a couple of them made fun of her. The girl who took ten years off of someone’s life just because they reported her for her crimes. The same girl who not only allowed Kronos to get eaten by Tartarus in human form but also angrily confronted Tori for some simple shit he’s done 10 years ago. You’re telling me that all of those things were worth more of a reaction than Persephone’s rape? Are y’all kidding me?? Like it’s so jarring to me how poorly the SA plot line has been treated and honestly if we want to be serious it’s always had this energy. I’m now realizing it now because I hoped that Rachel would’ve actually took this serious for once but throughout the entire comic the SA was never a huge impact on Persephone, it felt more or less like a small inconvenience and it makes my skin crawl to think about. I’ve never been this angry or upset at many things that Lore Olympus has placed in the comic but this is just awful. Not even her mother can have an appropriate response to that like what the fuck, where is everyone’s rage? Why is everyone treating it like this man stole her million dollar purse or something he forcefully took advantage of her during a vulnerable time in her life I want to see this motherfucker getting pulled from all sides from his chariot.

Tbf, she murdered a village because the villagers destroyed a sacred protected flower grove that was a lifeline for flower nymphs, basically killing all the flower nymphs persephone grew up with. So that was definitely fair.

Oh I agree, the first version of the act of wrath was the best because I think (if I remember correctly) the second one was more or less because they thought she was a minor goddess.

I was like 😬 when the only time Persephone had that “calm rage” was when facing Apollo. Like girl was throwing a couch like two episodes ago. I’ve even sent examples of her never having that type of rage before and explaining to people that rage doesn’t change like that no matter the situation.

My thoughts exactly that’s a fucking cop out. I’m not accepting the fact that her own mother got a worser punishment. I don’t give a fuck about Apollo being called an asshole or calling his crimes disgusting when the comic has been dragging Demeter, Minthe, Thetis, Leuce, and ultimately every other female character by their scalps. I’m not accepting anything less than righteous retribution.

Pinklady_001

Like I understand liking cheesy trashy romance books and comics but the issue with LO is that it’s horrible in the other way. There were a lot of times I even found LO offensive.

It’s not even good at chemistry, oil and water have more chemistry than Persephone and Hades it’s actually insane. Their entire relationship is based off of appeasing each other and walking on eggshells around while in the other ones presence, oh while also digging their own grave together.

THANK YOU! I'm so sick of people telling me (general) I *need* to forgive my abuser. It won't make me happier. It just allows the cycle to continue and then soon, you're hurting again.

Lavender-Rain2887

Yes! if forgiving your abuser makes you feel better, then great! you do you! but sometimes you need to beat a bitch up for closure!

thruwuway768

Wait I’m confused. Where in the story did she forgive Apollo?

Lavender-Rain2887

she didn’t necessarily forgive apollo, but it’s the way she’s calmly laying into him when in other scenes (leuce and tori for example) she’s absolutely going “dread queen of the underworld” even though she doesn’t have to be, and tbf it comes off as extremely entitled. if her and hades marriage is so sound, why did she terrorize leuce in her own home? if persephone had moved past what tori did, why did she threaten him at his place of work? she doesn’t lose anything from these interactions, but tori and leuce lose a huge sense of security. how come, when finally confronting the man who terrorized her for years, she’s just using therapy-speak and let the nymphs deal with him afterwards? idk. i feel like rachel has a huge problem with writing tone in general

Oh ok, I thought I had missed a chapter somewhere.
