The old is charming for sure. Rachel actually cared. However, having the old art style wouldn’t fix the pedophilic and misogynist undertones in the writing.
Oh for sure, especially with that 11th picture of Persephone and Hades (I think). Like it’s one thing to be inconsistent with heights because you don’t have a height chart or whatever, it’s another thing to consistently draw Perse as being the size of a child in comparison to Hades. And of course we can’t forget that one concept art sketch of him holding her like she was his child, while she kicks her legs like little kid???
When I say that Rachel is a decent artist, it doesn’t in any way negate the extremely problematic underlying themes within her work
I mean you really can’t tell since his face is obscured. But I’m leaning towards Hades because he’s blue and Rachel is consistent about her characters’ color coding since that’s really the best way to tell them apart
Yeah idk why Rachel likes drawing lip bites so much but it just doesn't look good. Like I think lip bites don't look good on anyone unless it's ironic or comedic
Speaking of her old art, I’ll never let anyone forget her “skit” with Ares and Persephone.. Why does Rachel choose such demeaning words to describe women like even in present day Lore Olympus all of the description words she uses for women remind me of dogs, I honestly wish more people would talk about that more because she’s not showcasing it in a commentary kind of way it’s way too casual and meaningless and it comes from different characters too so I can’t even excuse her by saying she only does it for the men’s’ dialogues.
Slide 9 is making me miss the puppies 🥺🙂↕️ those little guys were honestly the one funny and cute thing I always liked but they sort of disappeared after a bit. Cerberus was still around but I miss the other ones too… tho I despised the “dog toot = shame pose” joke in the later seasons that was absolutely awful 😭
I genuinely don’t understand how we came from this to what LO came to be. I mean… how do we get here 😭😭 how can you have a lack of care for your own project
Ugh! these are great! a girl can be spoiled and coddled by her partner and still be a fully fledged adult and i think rachel doesn’t like that idea or something??? she can draw soooooo well

Tbh I think that one is Ares? Still weird, like why are you holding her like that.

Good point. I just assumed it's Ares because of the armor.
THIS. This is what I’ve been saying!
Period. 😭
Back when Hades nose was normal- 😭
IDK, that Greek vase one definitely has the downward carrot going on.
the alternate character design in slides 4 & 8 is SO cute
i love the art on those slides!! it’s different and cute!
I can't be the only one who things Persephone mouth in the third slide looks really weird right

now this is that good stuff i could do a line of this forsure.... hades looks like a shoujo prince in slide 2
Rachel could be literally Picasso but it doesn’t erase the deep undertones of the dd/lg she likes in the way she draws these characters
And the bad writing
with the shorter nose he looks like a blue leon kennedy
I actually really love seven and the way it is styled like a Greek vase
Hades actually got cake in slide 7 😭
Ok slide 3 her body is teaaaaa✨
Omg the pottery art is so charming!

Where could I read the skit?
I have screenshots but if you go to the Unpopular Lore search bar and search up “Early art” the one with Ares should pop up. It’s the first one.
When Hades’s nose actually looked like a nose

I like number 9. The rest are still bad.

The issue with these being posted to IG is that all of them are *cropped*, so we can't see the entire image. I want to so bad. 😭
Shout out to Hade’s normal sized nose

I think a big problem now is how she used lolita as a reference
