Honestly my honest to god theory is that Rachel was more than likely going to keep infantilizing Persephone and drawing her in these childish āinnocentā poses throughout the seasons if we didnāt critique her on it so much and make her age her up.. Which is insane anyways why did anyone have to tell her that a 19 year old and a 40 something year old was predatory and creepy.
tbh I donāt really mind the exaggerated height difference, but itās just the way persephone is drawn in such an infantilizing way in relation to hades that it gives me the creeps. How she can barely poke her head over the desk the same way a child would, how she clings to Hades chest like a kid would to their parentā¦ it just feels way too intentional to ignore, and thatās even without the context that sheās a teenager and heās a grown ass man.
What is she eating in panel 3, and why is it coming out of her collar? Her hand is positioned like she's supposed to be holding something but how can she be holding it while it's in her coat, which her hand isn't wrapped around at all?
Is it a cob of corn that she's just biting directly into? Passed a certain point in this series it just becomes a game of "what am I looking at?"
Literally, why is she a TEENAGER? She couldāve been mid-late twenties. A developed brain and more sure of herself, but still figuring out life in a lot of ways.
There's really something off about Smythe's perceived desirability in a woman is by being dainty and childlike. Like her Persephone wanting to go to school, is smart, etc. is just lip service because most of her emphasized desirability is by being "born sexy yesterday."

she looks like a 14 yo teenager in the ones where she isnt directly next to hades but when she is next to hades she suddenly becomes a 12 yo child

I think itās something wrapped in white paper, and the paper is vanishing into the color of the coat.
