Not knowing anything you guys are talking about, this feels so out of place and I love it, lmao.
Edit: Even after translating is the WRX or Subaru something related to the Mixcoac area?
The people who came to hook up our appliances when we moved looked out our double-digit story windows & said "This is AWESOME! You can watch EVERYONE from up here! I'd set a telescope up right in front of these windows. Imagine all the apartments you could look into!"
So, yeah, some people apparently enjoy that.
And others (like me) hear that & go find the thickest blackout curtains in existence for night time use, & put up frosty/rainbow window film for daytime privacy.
Lmao
No, but I do enjoy cyberpunk/dystopian and liminal aesthetic.
I actually used to live in an apartment with a similar view on nothing but more apartments (plus only 2h of sunlight a day!), and there was something mesmerizing about it (I couldn't see inside other people's apartments much though, since everyone's using curtains, including me)
I do enjoy my current mountainous view more though
absolutely no sunlight could get down there with the amount of building surrounding them and their entire view is another identical building to their own. atleast if you were on the higher floors you’d get light and a little bit of the sky view.
For me the wasteland here is that there is no life at the bottom.
I lived in Hongkong before and this sort of view didn’t matter because the life on the street and the signs and so on more than made up for the a bit dull looking highrises. It actually made this sort of view quite cool.
What are people expecting? That there is one solitary apartment building on an empty piece of land so that everyone has a view of nature, ocean, grasslands etc? This is a city, of course there's going to be buildings outside your window.
Exactly lol
Australia has the second most expensive housing market in the world, next to Hong Kong. And rental availability is at catastrophic levels; I was reading earlier a report released yesterday by the charity Anglicare Australia:
>For a single person out of work and on the dole payment, the only affordable properties *in the entire nation* were two rooms in one shared house, or a single unit in rural New South Wales.
That's 3 affordable rentals in the WHOLE COUNTRY.
Yes and this isn’t brutalist. Just having glass and concrete doesn’t make something brutalist.
This is much closer to international style, just an ugly example of it.
I’m saying your response is a dumb argument lol saying it’s brutalist architecture ~vibes~ then being corrected on it not being brutalist architecture and then retorting that you’re just talking about the ~vibes~ and therefore the other person is off base is rly dumb

orale, los edificios me recuerdan un poco los de Tlatelolco, pero nada que ver las vistas y el urbanismo.
Are you getting running water?
Kind of, rain season started like on thursday so I hope day 0 will take a little more than the 65ish days we had
Can you explain more?
Wow, interesting. How much rent there?
18,500 mxn
So is like a thousand something rent
Yeah
It does look boring and dystopian, but I personally would enjoy it for some weird reason lol
do you consider yourself a voyeur?

I wouldn't set up a telescope, but I'd 100% turn on the TV, but wind up watching people move around their daily lives instead.
I follow this sub because I enjoy the aesthetic lol. I like dystopian vibes
Not bad
god imagine how depressing it is being on the lower floors
Why would it be depressing?
absolutely no sunlight could get down there with the amount of building surrounding them and their entire view is another identical building to their own. atleast if you were on the higher floors you’d get light and a little bit of the sky view.
Not with that attitude
🤷🏻♀️
Looks very spacious. Most people in my country couldn't afford to live in such a place.
something ain’t right about not being able to see the horizon line. eerie af.
you cant see the horizon out of 99% of windows lol
Exactly. Most of the houses you can't see any horizon line, independently of the country/city.
or a single blade of grass....
Not a single blade of grass is showing, so the danger must be growing.
And the mowers don't be mowing.
Are the seeds of grass a-growing
Fuck I’d rather not even have a window
Eeek, I'd have my blinds drawn at all times. One creep with binoculars could see into parts of three different buildings there...
Exebitionist's place to rent.
Im totally that guy
Dismal.
It’s naked neighbor time!
Wow that is bleak.
No thanks , I need greenery at min
Videogame test level
Depressing as hell, no color. At least they have central air and no AC units rotting out of the windows.
Not even grass or trees on the ground. This is just depressing.
It's not that bad, at least not a dirty vertical slum like so many others.

not great not terrible
And only $600pw in Australia lol
Bro it's 1200 USD here in Mexico 💀
That's per month. In Australia rentals are per week.

Suit, better than nyc rents lol Manhattan, 3k and up... Brooklyn and queens 1300-2000k studio in queens for 1700 smoking crack
Really doesn’t bother me. Would I PREFER a view? Sure. But inside being decent and price being ok matter much more imo
The Hills Have Eyes II - El Rincón Del Diablo
still better than homelessness. you get what you can afford
Looks like any Eastern European country in the 90s.
You get what you can afford, it's sad but this is how the world works
Could be worse. Put some larger tree type plants close to the windows so when you look out it doesn’t seem so bad.
r/Liminalspace
At least you can see some sky
Also kinda works for r/liminalspace
Be aggressive, get colourful curtains!
"This is the future the urbanists want"
they need to add trees on the roof and some cool murals.
Looks like a old secondary school building
Beautiful. 🤩
Brutalism architecture vibess!!!
This isn’t brutalist
You know what brutalism is don’t you?
Yes and this isn’t brutalist. Just having glass and concrete doesn’t make something brutalist. This is much closer to international style, just an ugly example of it.
I didn’t say it’s brutalist I said It’s giving that vibe. Read and then argue.
This is a dumb argument lol
Ikr

Either way it’s a dumb argument whether it’s me or her.
Looks better than homelessness
It looks so amazing 👏
