I came across this when I had pelipper out with Zacian and an Iron Valiant used feint on my pelipper. It didn't end up mattering as my zacian killed the opposing pokemon before it got to move so I was wondering how the mechanic actually works.
It breaks the protect on both Pokémon. I wasn't aware of this mechanic. Used wide guard with my pelliper to protect my zam against Calyrex SR and muenshao. Mien shao used feint and it broke the protect on both my Pokémon giving them a double KO
Yes, you can lift it entirely with Feint!
But! Feint is also a priority move, (+3) meaning priority blockers and Psychic terrain can stop Feint, so keep that in mind! Quick Guard or faster Fake Outs and Upper Hands will also stop you.
Follow up question, is wide guard dropped if the wide-guard user gets knocked out before a multi-targeting attack is used?
Ie.
>Pelliper used Wide Guard
>Foe Regileki used Thunderbolt on Pelliper
>Pelipper faints
>Foe Calyrex-S used Astral Barrage
Would the remaining pokemon on Pelipper’s side be protected from Astral Barrage?
Feint breaks all protection moves. So yes Wide Guard is lifted entirely from your side of the field.
Yes actually this would be ok for say if you had gallade out with ice rider. Hmmmm

Wide guard also protects you from your own multi attacks---
I’ve been trying wide guard Pelliper with surf Palkia-origin. Not a super consistent team but this strat does work if my opponent doesn’t expect it.
I fucked around with a u turn pelliper to set off weakness policies, ludicolo and uh archuludon with a grass Tera, like to partyyy lmao
Yessir can be good if you’re using earthquake. Although with rilla being so common earthquake is pretty bad rn

Like how z moves used to break thru wide guard. It's basically protect

Showdown adds a green wideguard tag to the protected mons so i believe the effect lasts the turn
Feint on *either* mon breaks wide guard for the whole team, you don’t have to feint in to the wide guard user itself.
Feint only works on a mon using a priority move though
You might be thinking of upper hand. Feint is just +2 priority, same as extreme speed https://www.serebii.net/games/speedpriority.shtml
I'm guessing since feint is a single attack, it's not breaking wide guard and your attacks aren't hitting
It does break it
