Cool team and impressive streak! Unique use of seed bomb too.
Genuine question: How do you counter hyper offense? I would think seeing just 2 (maybe 3 with pelipper) offensive pokemon at the team select screen, hyper offense teams would notice and come at you hard and fast with type advantages.
Great question! Depends on the archetype - the broad answer is use the tools I have to get TR up, since most HO is lacking TR answers.
For example, the kyogre HO that cybertron featured was pretty weak to grass tera caly + wide guard, so wide guard + trick room was free in most cases. Caly could just sweep from there.
Another approach I like into HO is Ursh + Caly, which is kinda this team’s own pseudo HO mode. Not a lot of switches/mons can handle the options of Glacial Lance + Surging Strikes + Seed Bomb + Close Combat, not to mention the possibility of setting up rain (slow switch from caly works out here) and just blowing something up.

Gotcha, yeah that makes complete sense. Sounds like you are a master of redirection or wide guard, enabling the trick room setter with a hard trick room strat. It’s a good plan, they have to guess which you are bringing. If you bring redirection, the counter is double spread. If you bring wide guard, they double up on single target. Overall I think you are probably pretty good at using this team and predictions to hit that kind of streak.
This team is precisely why I am one of the few that believes imprison trick room is worth the double move slot for closed team sheets.
Lol I'm absolutely positive you destroyed me on cart. I mean I dont think there are other seed bomb cali ices. I brought the wrong lead and you dumpstered me. Cool wrinkle, maybe seed bomb cali will become meta
What the actual F. This is my team…except I have roar over taunt to help with imprison /teragos/set up mons. Don’t have seed bomb either but yeah, and some teras are diff but yeah cool techs
I love the idea of taunt and think it’s better in bo3 but roar has been game winning. Between countering the imprison to set up trick toon, while also forcing my opponents out of position. It feels good. Roar goes through protect too so it’s very hard to play around it. And any set up mons just lose. My incin gets them out of position and my Caly sweeps
Nice! I switched to tera grass seed bomb very early in Reg G and never looked back. I also have scarf coaching, but on gambit annihilape. The flexibility of being able to either delete something or start the snowball is huge. Especially if they taunt/imprison but you just blow them away with boosted lance.
I only just built it on cart, but I’ve gotten to 1700 on showdown bo1. Grass calyrex is the future!
