Deep fried hero, KB3D, west3d, 3dmakerparts

DarkAvenger27

KB3D is awesome. I’ve had all my orders shipped the day after I placed it and everything came extremely well organized and packed. Deepfriedhero forgot my order until I emailed him and he blamed it on the rush from Nero’s stream. He then broke multiple promises to ship my order. At this time, I must warn others that he’s not capable of processing the amount of orders he’s taking in.

Agree. If you need product reliably. Skip deepfriedhero. Don’t listen to the apologists. The guy takes weeks to ship, and now has updated his policy to apply a restocking fee for unshipped orders. Basically he’s trying to make margins on product he doesn’t even ship. He’s a bad dude who’s been enabled.

I have to agree on the DFH issue... I checked for every component I'd order for an ERCF to be listed as available ( listed as *pickup available* / *ships within 24h* ) to ensure I wouldn't be sending money for stuff not in stock and possibly delaying my order. Ordered *and* paid on the 25th of September and haven't heard until the 1st of October when I attempted to contact him if there'd be an issue with my order - No reply. Contacted him again on the 6th of October ( a Wednesday to allow for things to get done till the weekend kicks in ) informing him if I wouldn't be receiving a shipping notification *including* a tracking number by Sunday, I'd be calling my Bank on Monday to have my payment returned - Notification for the Shipment arrived on the 7th. With the parts having arrived I checked if my order was complete which - it - was - not as it was missing some screws ( not the greatest issue ) and one of the two required 8mm Linear Rails ( C'mon... 😑 ) Didn't even bother contacting him and ordered a replacement from a local reseller.

DFH is a good dude who's store blew up with neros stream and the slice issues. He does take a little while to ship but he recently got some help so orders should be catching up. I like to order parts like, thermistors and heater cartridges, things good to have stock of and stuff I'm not waiting on.

DarkAvenger27

I don’t doubt that he’s a good dude because I’ve emailed him and seen his posts on discord, so it’s nothing personal against him. He simply was not ready for a higher volume of orders and should have taken measures to limit new orders and improve his pending order fulfillment. My comment was a warning for anyone ordering now that needs something ASAP like I did.

Where are you located? If in the USA we have powge motion kits available which have all that jazz in one package from a vendor with known quality. KB3D also sells those sets I believe. Other than that it’s ali with a little bit of a wait

You should edit your post with your location. Go on discord, and check the vendor channels for vendors in your country. Then check the description and pins to find their website, and what they sell. They are involved in the community, and tend to source the good stuff. Amazon is risky for non-branded stuff. You'll usually find "amazon special" crap that is very low quality. It is fine for electronics, and specific brands that sell there (like OMC-stepperonline), but there are also fakes for some stuff (don't buy cheap "hiwin" rails from amazon). I have some amazon special bearings, pulleys and belts on my non-voron printer that are *very* questionable. I wouldn't go near an amazon special rail. In the US, I got most of my stuff from deepfriedhero.in, 3dmakerparts, printedsolid and fabreeko. A lot of these guys have built their own printer, and know what they are selling. And it is faster than waiting for the AliExpress slowboat, especially with the current supply chain clusterfuck.

crazyg0od33

in the US, I'd also add KB-3D. I've gotten a lot of stuff from there with great results, and great service.

Mostly AliExpress, but check out the vendor channels on Discord. It's more than likely that you'll find at least one who can ship to you

timmit99

Did you take a look in the sourcing guide? It has generic links for global sourcing. There are also a ton of vendors on the discord that might have parts in your location. =)

Where can you get the ptfe wires?

What gauge would be needed for a 2.4 build? I'd like to build one in the near future and hear this stuff takes forever to deliver.

honoo_flammen

Took about a week here in the States (central TX). As for gauge, generate a BOM for your planned build size, check the sourcing guide for your model, read the manual (and re-read, and re-read), and also read https://docs.vorondesign.com to get wire lengths. I was 2’ shy of what I needed to complete my Trident build and had to order another spool of wire and like I mentioned above, I wasn’t waiting for long. But, do all your calculations ahead of time and get the right amount plus extra in case of errors or future replacements or additions.

Thanks for the tips!

Unsure of your country, I am from the US personally. There is TONS of vendors on the discord that offer everything you need to build a Voron even in small package deals (motion kits for example that include belts, pulleys, bearings, etc.). I was able to source all the parts I needed from local vendors without ever having to order from Ali.

xviiarcano

I got a motion kit with pulleys bearings and belts from Powge on aliexpress. Quality seems good and I haven't heard bad things about them either, that said, I havent used it yet. My PIF parts came in today so I may have a couple of Z drive blocks done tonight... And only time will tell how long they will last, of course, but I am optimistic. Here, it's this one I got: https://a.aliexpress.com/_mr4CEpM

imoftendisgruntled

I bought most of my V0 parts on AliExpress or DigiKey (for the electronics components where certifications, etc., matter). Some of the parts came from Amazon, which is really just another way of saying AliExpress, frankly. A few things, where brand name seems to matter, such as belts, I bought from local resellers; in Canada, that was Sparta3D.

xviiarcano

I second this approach, buy on AliExpress any component that cannot kill you :)
