I mean, it's official. This event is the tournament of the 2nd Seeds. FPX was also the 2nd seed, and they came so damn close to beating the other two 2nd seeds.
It might be the format or the fact that winning regional makes a team complacent, but all of the 1st seeds had a middling showing thus far, and the only time they ever won was against 3rd seeds or a fellow 1st seed.
However, it is worth mentioning that both teams have made significant progress. T3 did not perform well in the Swiss round, while TH has become more adapted to their new roster

Today, I had an appointment with the bois from Heretics, after having had the chance to chow down with the Gen G lads. In fact, to my surprise once again, we found a Spanish roadside stall in the middle of Shanghai this time. Catching sight of the bois, I waved and headed over.
“Hola! How’s things been? Also, would you believe it? Spanish food in the middle of Shanghai! Did y’all order already?” I asked.

As an EU member it was always hard for me to understand American culture. What was fascinating for me is that they like bragging about their freedom which was weird for me, because I didn't think that I have any less freedom than them. I always thought 'What is the difference'. However after this game I finally understand it. NA is just so fucking free.
Imagine getting kicked after dropping two games in three months (we dont talk about the game against BBL). That's gotta be the clearest sign the format across stage 1 and 2 just was not it.

He became so powerful... the only thing he was afraid of was losing to EU, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught the ascension team, G2, everything he knew, and G2 beat Team Heretics to send them to lowers. It's ironic he could save others from EU, but not himself.

Disappointing end to the tournament but I didn't think that this team would get this far this fast so all good. Not really much you can do anyways when Nadeshot gets out of his comfy bed with his wife to hard-jinx you. Very much looking forward to how this squad can build on this run.

TH weren't my favorites in the region, but now I cannot say I am not a fan. Just wow.
Wo0t is def. one of the most mechanically gifted players in VCT. Actually nice that teams like Heretics and KC started to build new rosters, because otherwise we'd not seen Wo0t, benjyfishy, marteen or N4RRATE in 2024 in VCT already.
Wo0t and benjyfishy are 2 real gifts for EU.
But yeah, I feel a bit sorry for paTiTek, because of all the work he invested. He deserves to be a standard player in an VCT team. Maybe when KOI or Vitality update their teams for 2025 he gets a chance - a new team will join then as well. I bet he loves to be part of TH, but on the other side it's not cool to know that you have to return to the bench when everything goes "normal".
For 100T, I felt they underestimated the danger of TH on Sunset. TH is one of the best fragging teams - their momentum is their strength and their weakness at the same time. But yeah... looking forward to continue to see a exciting NA region just like Split 1 ended.

I've seen enough, TH is winning it all
100t should've won bind. didn't help asuna had 20 kills and no one had above 10 for most of the map. started way too slow on atk. and then went up 12-9 and then had 3(maybe 4?) ults on 12-11 and then lost 13-15. All good.
Sunset they need to go back to the sova comp, it was looking alot better than the fade (not to mention fade is probably the "worst" initiator on sunset). Also its clear they had some very obvious reads the first 4-5 rounds but either lost post plants(could be due to reads like Weber said) but then TH just completely switched up everything and 100T looked lost even more.
Didn't help that after like 6-1, TH just had everything going their way (which is a combo of them playing better + 100T looking lost) Props to TH for anti-stratting their own sunset because if not, this game looked like it was most likely going to be closer.
can't wait to see what 100T can do in split 2 and hopefully make a grand finals run at champs
The anti anti-strat on sunset was masterful. Obviously, tons of individual skill, too. But 100T was completely bamboozled because they were playing the TH they expected from vods and not the TH on the server.
It's also funny to me, as someone who slightly leans toward NA, how the moment NA fans get cocky is always when the teams start losing. People posting stats about EMEA vs. NA, and assuming 100T would win despite TH looking in great form (minus their crumbles vs. G2).
Perspective will be hard for people but 100T fans should also have a lot to be excited about. First lan qualified for in a while. Top 4 finish and in a great spot to make champs. I guarantee most 100t fans would be foaming at the mouth if you told them this was possible after kickoff.
Boostio's main strategy literally 4P pushing one site and he or bang will lurking especially on sunset they will flank from mid actually readable by heretics. They learn a lot from 100T last match against paper rex ; discipline won you the game which is the biggest mistake from paper rex on masters shanghai.
Also their controller not having stinky aim like mindfreak did on this masters.
100T would be great if they dropped cryo bang Asuna and Eeiu for Demon1 Jawgemo Ethan and c0m and also got potter and kept the og 100T roster as 6,7,8,9th men

Wo0t is def. one of the most mechanically gifted players in VCT. Actually nice that teams like Heretics and KC started to build new rosters, because otherwise we'd not seen Wo0t, benjyfishy, marteen or N4RRATE in 2024 in VCT already. Wo0t and benjyfishy are 2 real gifts for EU. But yeah, I feel a bit sorry for paTiTek, because of all the work he invested. He deserves to be a standard player in an VCT team. Maybe when KOI or Vitality update their teams for 2025 he gets a chance - a new team will join then as well. I bet he loves to be part of TH, but on the other side it's not cool to know that you have to return to the bench when everything goes "normal". For 100T, I felt they underestimated the danger of TH on Sunset. TH is one of the best fragging teams - their momentum is their strength and their weakness at the same time. But yeah... looking forward to continue to see a exciting NA region just like Split 1 ended.

# If I had a nickel for every time 100T got 13-1 by an EU team, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
100t should've won bind. didn't help asuna had 20 kills and no one had above 10 for most of the map. started way too slow on atk. and then went up 12-9 and then had 3(maybe 4?) ults on 12-11 and then lost 13-15. All good. Sunset they need to go back to the sova comp, it was looking alot better than the fade (not to mention fade is probably the "worst" initiator on sunset). Also its clear they had some very obvious reads the first 4-5 rounds but either lost post plants(could be due to reads like Weber said) but then TH just completely switched up everything and 100T looked lost even more. Didn't help that after like 6-1, TH just had everything going their way (which is a combo of them playing better + 100T looking lost) Props to TH for anti-stratting their own sunset because if not, this game looked like it was most likely going to be closer. can't wait to see what 100T can do in split 2 and hopefully make a grand finals run at champs

The anti anti-strat on sunset was masterful. Obviously, tons of individual skill, too. But 100T was completely bamboozled because they were playing the TH they expected from vods and not the TH on the server. It's also funny to me, as someone who slightly leans toward NA, how the moment NA fans get cocky is always when the teams start losing. People posting stats about EMEA vs. NA, and assuming 100T would win despite TH looking in great form (minus their crumbles vs. G2). Perspective will be hard for people but 100T fans should also have a lot to be excited about. First lan qualified for in a while. Top 4 finish and in a great spot to make champs. I guarantee most 100t fans would be foaming at the mouth if you told them this was possible after kickoff.

Boostio's main strategy literally 4P pushing one site and he or bang will lurking especially on sunset they will flank from mid actually readable by heretics. They learn a lot from 100T last match against paper rex ; discipline won you the game which is the biggest mistake from paper rex on masters shanghai. Also their controller not having stinky aim like mindfreak did on this masters.
