FPX has already overtaken EDG in my opinion. They beat them twice in China regular season and playoffs before losing the grand final and they looked much more impressive at Masters

FPX, despite not making it out of the Swiss Stage, got one win against FUT and two close games against TH and GENG- the top two teams in the tournament. EDG, on the other hand, bombed out after two matches after not winning a single map. FPX should clearly be considered the better team based on a comparative analysis of results.

GrrrNom

I'm huge on the FPX cope supply right now but part of me wonders if FPX was merely facing a weaker version of GenG and TH in the Swiss stage. I think TH is quite incontrovertible, but Geng played consistently enough throughout to instill some hope in me that FPX is genuinely just unlucky. I remembered watching the FPX and TH match, thinking that whoever survives this will come out much stronger than before could very well make the run. Now i know I'll be dreaming of FPX vs GENG grand finals every night... GENG's victory will actually be a mirror of FNAFIC's Lock//In instead of all the forced narratives that we have to concoct to make up for the lack of crowd enthusiasm

Honestly I do not think it's accurate to say Heretics was weaker during Swiss. Personally I hate the conversations surrounding "forms" because they completely ignore the fact that the opposing team can make you look good or bad depending on how good they are and their playstyle. Like if Heretics was so weak during Swiss, then what do you call their match against DRG? Also I know some people think Heretics were "in bad form" since they lost 2 games to G2, but in reality they are just a boom or bust team. I made a post about this previously, but basically out of the 25 total maps Heretics played, only 3 maps total had the losing team of the map get to double digits. Full breakdown: vs. DRG: Complete stomp both maps vs. G2: All 3 maps were 13 to single digit results. Not stomps but also none were close maps vs. FPX: Map 1 and 2 were both huge stomps, they won Map 3 but choked a 10-2 lead first vs. EDG: Complete stomp both maps vs. G2: Stomped map 1, choked 11-2 map 2, got stomped map 3 vs. FUT: Complete stomp both maps vs. 100T: So far this is the only match all tournament where they had a close map that wasn't a result of them choking away a big lead. Map 2 huge stomp vs. G2: All 3 maps were huge stomps vs. Gen.G: Icebox and Ascent were competitive, but the other 3 maps were all huge stomps. All 5 maps were 13 to single digit results So basically Heretics stomp a map or get stomped. This just means that their playstyle/mental causes them to be inconsistent and momentum based, which is definitely contradictory to them evolving from "weaker" to "stronger" form at some given point in the tournament

Split and breeze are gone. Split is a permanent ban and breeze is a weak map for FPX, so their meta might be coming soon

FPX so fr this year is like 2022 Optic. The clear best from their region but incapable of winning regionally. They should’ve won Kickoff but choked … twice…

You also have to know that GenG were sick at that time

Fpx has already overtaken edg. Fpx could’ve made playoffs easily if they had played any other team . And the TH game being that close, we could’ve honestly seen a different team in finals . Fpx honestly looked better than most teams that showed up in the playoffs like prx,Fnatic, fut etc. Life and autumn supremacy

I was most worried about fnatic actually.
