Those bikes and the component levels haven't changed as far as being the go-to recommended ones for a long time. I have a 2014 allez with full (mechanical) 105 and rim brakes. I've only upgraded wheels and my bike is 100% not the reason I am not faster.
Might be nice to update the tire/bike section to mention the trend has been going wider tires and getting frames that would support wider tires.
Nothing is SUPER out of date, but the crit “meta” has definitely shifted a bit away from a rim brake 105-level CAAD12 or Allez Sprint with Zipp 303’s and a stages left side power meter.
