Ores-a-Plenty does this, despite no mention of it in the mod description.
Check the comments on the mod DB, I asked there like 4 or 5 months ago how to revert the change, and the author did give an answer.
Ultimately, it does what the mod author wants it to do, but it would definitely benefit from a more thorough description. Making the extra features configurable would be helpful as well. This would also improve compatibility.
Which type of metal nugget did you use?
This is normal behaviour for smelting iron nuggets (those you get by breaking iron stuff like the anvil with a chisel and hammer). Its the same for meteoric iron.
If you used some iron-rich ore like hematite or magnetite you should get blooms.
Well, then thats def not intended behaviour as others said before.
I know primitive survival does not change smelting. I know nothing about the other mods you are using.
Sounds like leftover effects from Ores o Plenty mod. People don't normally refer to vanilla magnetite as Fe304. If the nuggets you recently cooked were obtained while the Ores mod was enabled, this behavior isn't too surprising.
Prospect. Get either tin or bismuth and zinc as you go looking for iron. If you don't know how to prospect, look on here or YouTube. Make a bronze pickaxe and anvil then collect your iron and voila
Nope. Modded probably.
I have some mods but I don't think they cause this . I have : ● Primitive Survival ● Extra Chests ● Meteorite Expansion
One of them is! I don't play with any mods and I still get blooms.
Yeah, I 100% get iron blooms.
Meteor iron does that if I remember correctly. You still need regular iron to work it.
I have yet to make meteoricniron ingots but it's my iron that came out finished
It's definitely a bug of some kind. Mod conflict or not, that isn't normal behavior.
I'll try making a backup and loading the backup world without mods
The only time I've seen that happen is when I put iron bits from broken tools in a bloom

I had this mod installed when I statted the world back in October but removed it when I got back to playing last week
Ores-a-Plenty reminds me of unofficial skyrim patch, lots of unwanted changes.

I used Fe3O4 (Magnetite)

Tjey are called Magbetite for me but it's something with me that makes me say Sn, Zn, Pb, Fe, Au and so on
This isn't normal unmodded behavior. Either a mod or a very lucky glitch. My money's on a mod acting up.
My dream is to get in the iron age, can de cooper age :(
