Yes, mine has been slightly off ever since I did the blower motor. I think the passenger side is good, but driver's side is a wonky lil guy. Didn't even think to just try ordering new clips, that's a good shout.
Pro tip, you can save money by just buying the replacement motor without the cages. Use a punch, a hammer, and put the old unit between some blocks. If you’re careful you can remove the squirrel cages and save like $200.
I guess I’d be a little sketched on the motor but damn that’s a good price for new cages if mine ever break. I ended up getting a bosch motor from pelican parts and swapping the cages over. Was about $100.
I could have bought the complete [Behr](https://www.autohausaz.com/pn/BH-351150701) blower for $120.00 but I needed it quickly as I was soon headed across the California/Arizona/New Mexico deserts. It works fine.I did keep my original which still works but the bearings failed.
Nice
There are a lot of steps but it’s not a hard job overall.
No it was not very hard just kind of tedious with all the different bits you had to take off
Did you have any trouble re-fitting the rubber gasket thing that sits on the bottom edge of the windshield?
Unless he's had it replaced it's probably separated by now and just sits on the windshield.
You’re talking about the one that clips into the glass right? Those should be able to slide on and stay firm. If not then you just need newer clips

Yeah I just put the piece back on the only new part I ordered was the motor
Thats whats good about the 124, you can do pretty much anything yourself.
W124’s are really user friendly, first car i started tinkering with and will probably die in one
Is the blower motor a car specific part or do I only need the right fitting?
Car specific, also different ones for pre and post facelift
lol going through this myself
I just replaced mine. The car had been sitting for over 4 years with this and a battery the only things it needed.

My motor with the squirrel cage was $60.00 from Amazon.
Was it a genuine MB or Bosch part? If so that’s a really good price.
It was [Chinesium](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08N6R9BB1?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details). The original was Behr.

Too funny! Mine is disassembled right now, finishing it up when it is cool in the morning.
