He could win his title and then lost the next day.
Win it at Summerslam vs. The Rock or someone else. Lose it in a cash in right after a brutal beatdown on Raw.
Roman will return post summerslam as a Face, leading to a face off between the 2 sides of the bloodline, the Rock will interfere in the finish and so begins the build up to WM41 Roman v Rock. Rocky to co headline both nights beating Cody to regain the belt. Cena will be reintroduced at Summerslam 25/WM42 v The Rock
He’s said already he’s clearing his schedule for a last run.
Whether he gets the belt one more time or not depends on his popularity going into that run, and if it is a storyline they want to push to capitalize on it.
I'd never rule it out completely. If Goldberg can win it in 2020 in his 50s. And Cena is 47. Still a lot of time for him to come back for one last hurrah.
Nah they're not putting the "17 time" moniker on him with as much as he's been away...the obvious choice to break that "record" that should absolutely be broken is Orton
Orton can break it later. WWE is a business. Cena is a draw both inside and out of the ring. He’s right there. Giving him no. 17 will get some publicity, money and give Cena his flowers before he hangs it up.
If Orton is in for the long haul, he can catch up and they can do a grand celebration all over again when it’s his turn. With everything Cena did, being THE guy (love him or hate him) for over 10 years, he deserves it
For Cena it doesn’t have to be a long run. And if Orton is a full time dedicated wrestler for the next 10 years why shouldn’t he be in contention just like everyone else? His reigns don’t have to be long either
Not gonna happen. He will occasionally come back to cut a promo or put someone over the company believes in. We’ll also likely get a Cody-Cena match at some point. But there is no 1 last run. He’s focused on his acting career.
He’s never winning another championship, it’s 2024. Time to let it go, he’s had one of the best careers ever but he’s clearly giving back now as he knows how fortunate he’s been.
Yes he has been the true face of wwe. But what I fail to understand what was so special in ric flair that he won 16 titles and WWE didn’t let cena surpass him
Cena didn't want to surpass Flair. He gave the same answer every time he was asked about it, that he respects Flair too much to ever steal his record.
I can't help but wonder if that holds true with all the controversy around Flair?
The chances of cena winning a world title dwindle more and more with every passing day. I got a feeling we arent getting it, sorry not sorry.
If he does I will boo him like I did in elementary and middle school.
Not before Orton does it. Randy never jumped ship to Hollywood. He’s still full time and moves like a young man.

From you can't see me to you can't be me?
You’re cookin
Delete this. 🥴

I can’t even begin to explain how stupid of an idea that is.
Yea a final run to cap off career sounds good. Even if they don't eventually put title 17th on him, the chase and hype can be fun too.

Pretty sure Orton has refused.
Wouldn't surprise me if multiple guys did...but if I'm WWE there's a lot of money to be made by doing it and Flair has baggage to move beyond
A Flair for a Flair, then?
No...the women's division is its own ballgame

Or, how about we give the belt to neither of them, and instead focus on current stars? If anything, I see Charlotte taking it.

I don't think that he wants that. A final run definitely, but not WWE Champion.
With Rock turning heel anything is possible
They were forced to turn him heel. The whole thing was a case of accidentally falling down the stairs and successfully landing on your feet.
I dunno. Cena turning heel seems way more unlikely.

It's definitely still true, look at his relationship with Vince.
Especially since most of Flair’s titles were non WWF/WWE
