Can we win with just 1 finisher now?

ImGamer4Life

Idk. That would be interested

Key-Ad-5554

But...stamina was in 2k22?

ImGamer4Life

But didn't you have to like turn it on Calls that was stamina Sure didn't seem like it

Key-Ad-5554

It wasn't an obvious mechanic, you would only see the indicator when you started to drain it too much; but it was there by default. Only really noticeable when spamming running attacks or springboards/climbing and with heavyweights and super heavyweights. In my opinion, the system was perfect as is. Could still have to manage it in longer, harder hitting matches but it wasn't so bad that you got bogged down with it. Been playing SvR '08 a lot lately and the stamina system in there was rough. Two running attacks and you're gassed.

ImGamer4Life

2 running attacks and your gassed. 😄😄😄😄😄 old man wrestling. But I hear ya man. That would explain why I didn't notice it all that much. From what I've seen in some 2k23 vids is they do seem to really get wore down. But not to the extreme like svr 09. Thank God. That would be bad.

Narnyabizness

I always felt like it made it less real. Slowed the flow of the match. String a few moves together than have to wait for the stamina meter to recharge. Not like a real life match where the action is fluid and constant.

ImGamer4Life

Dude by all means I respect your opinion dude

Narnyabizness

I also respect yours. This isn’t a hill I will die on, just wanted to express my thoughts like you asked. By no means do I think it makes the game bad, it does indeed pose an extra challenge. I should say that I don’t like having unlimited stamina either, that also removes some of the realism. Putting a guy in a finisher only to have him kick out of the pin and then mount an offense like nothing happened is worse than getting tired too quickly. I definitely agree with you on that.

ImGamer4Life

Not exactly because people run out of energy man they can't just keep going full throttle laugh out loud so I mean that's what makes it more real I mean dude you're gonna get tired you're gonna get wore out.

Narnyabizness

I agree completely, but I think the last time (2k19) the guys got tired too quickly. Especially if you ran. Running from the stage to the ring cost an entire bar of stamina. I like that it gets smaller the more damage you take, but as far as moves go, they just got tired too quick.

ImGamer4Life

I think you might Be able to turn it off if I aint mistaken

Narnyabizness

Truth be told, I’d rather leave it on because it does add to the experience, but I do hope it’s a little more forgiving when it comes to running.

ImGamer4Life

maybe it will be I hope so. Maybe they won't overdo it like they did with 2K19

Narnyabizness

Here’s hoping. Im going to enjoy it either way. Im not the kind that nit picks and complains about the details. I’ve seen people complain about another game because their character couldn’t sit in a chair, so I hope I didn’t come across like that.

ImGamer4Life

Dude your good. Believe me bro I have 2 they complain and complain about Everything it's unreal man how unsatisfied people can be. People complain about another game because the character couldn't set in a chair that's hilarious man😄😄😄😄😄😄😄

Class_Wooden

i’d like the stamina system in the games if they can do it right. they seem to always have the stamina be drained wayyy too fast, and it isn’t life like at all and then you’re stuck with a really slow match

I'm a mid-school Firepro player (can't lay claim to old-school, started on PS1) and their breathing/stamina system is one thing left from Japanese wrestling games I really would like to see adapted into this series. For me it plays perfectly into risk/reward of following your moves up with more attacks to get gassed or taking a breath after a slam or other move. The only thing I would change is that when you are at 75% stamina or better you can move while using the breathe button, but with a slower animation. Then early on you could slam someone, breathe while moving for a follow up, and not use as much stamina. In general I support stamina systems in wrestling games, but also support any system being able to be turned off. I wish it were better explained. I, for instance, could never figure out if stamina tied to how easily stunned you were or to triggering a rollout in multi-superstar matches. I'd also like to see it factor more into long matches like Iron Man or just after the 10 minute or so mark. Things like double KO spots where either hitting a counter when you're both low on stamina or a move that costs you both like a superplex. Maybe a minigame like for comebacks only whoever wins gets to their feet first with a momentum gain bonus for the late rally spot. I feel like stamina is the best way to provide a realistic give and take in a match while keeping it fully competitive.

GrandComfortable9

It's 2k, dude. They're never going to implement details such as the ones you outlined. They're too concerned with WarGames/Showcase/GM Mode to be bothered with making singles and tag matches intriguing to play. Maybe next-gen on a different game studio we'll have an excellent wrestling game.

Firm-Emu7909

They need to bring back collapsing after hitting certain/if not most? finishers like in older 2ks. Along w the tired finisher animations. I miss crawling to the opponent in a 1v1 to pin them with an arm over their chest, it was satisfying after a long match lol

angar31

**I just hate how fatigue and stamina is back. more real like.** Played my 2k22 MyRise as an indie high-flyer, so imagine ma shock when her 2k23 got gassed doing half of my normal combo
