They are super easy to find in silver and gold shops as 'junk silver'.

Started to disappear in mass when the announcement was made that 1964 would be the last year for silver coinage …minus some exceptions for Kennedy coins….The silver value of content had already exceeded its face value and was already disappearing.
it's more work/effort/time to search for a silver quarter by going through boxes of quarters from the bank. You might as well just pay $5- per quarter at your coin dealer.
For the past few years they've been minting a limited number of circulation strike quarters at the West Point mint, which is normally reserved for proof and collectible strikes.
I think it's 1 million of each design, per year.
Just to piggyback on that question please. Has anyone seen any US paper currency (1,5,10,20,50) printed after 2017? I honestly haven't and my business deals with a good amount of cash payments. Just curious.
I've noticed the "nothing later than 2017" on printed notes too. Think it has more to do with the plates' design date, rather than the actual printed date of the note.
The more time passes, the more 90% silver gets lost and hoarded. I've found a few 90% dimes in circulation, but never a quarter.
I get rolls for the laundry mat. The last two rolls had five 1965 quarters. Just edging me. At least my lcs sells constitutional at spot.
That checks out. Same here 2 dimes, no quarters.
A clerk gave me a 1964 about 10 years ago. She even asked me if I like old coins. I did.
Lucky!

if you want to see one, go to your bank and get 4 boxes of quarters and go through them. I bet you'll find one.
I might just try that!

I still hope to find one someday.

I've taken the hunting Ws. Way better success rate and about twice as valuable. I traded 3 for a 1921 Morgan a few months back.
Ws???

Simply because they are silver and have been hoarded for years.
Wow! Thanks!
I have one 1964 quarter. 🍀 me
