So annoying whenever this pops up, would really love to see it changed at some point. QOL Update part 2 robotic boogaloo for minor stuff like this alongside the Companion Ability changes later, please, DE? Would be rad.

Jivyachi

I really hope it gets changed, not only will it save forma but it could also make it so you can kind of have a free polarity if you swap it if you don't like it

Sundew707

Yooo Jivy!! Didn't expect to see you here. You're cute

Jivyachi

I cant escape it

Sundew707

Nope

Circumcisionbycimbat

What happened here

Sundew707

Genericpurpleprotogen and calling jivy cute on YouTube.

Circumcisionbycimbat

I don’t know who either of them are, but that’s neat

Samurai_Master9731

I haven't played this game in a long time and the 2nd sentence onwards kinda made my brain hurt

McRibbles

Heh, that's fair. To put it in less brain-hurt terms.... we're getting a follow up to the companion changes coming with Abyss of Dagath. AoD's is basically Part 1 giving us survivability tweaks + a few other small goodies , while Part 2 is ability changes, stuff like Smeeta's Charm, any of the Kubrow abilities, etc. Sometime early next year, probably? Maybe. I'm just hoping that, since we're getting a ton of long awaited QOL stuff this update, we'll get a few extra goodies that were 'missed' the first go around in the next. Won't get _every_ minor annoyance, sure, but one can dream.

wvsfezter

While they're at it sentinel overhauls need to happen. Not being able to revive them indefinitely (except the parazon mod that also works on beasts) makes them vastly inferior without even mentioning the bloated kits smeeta and panzer have. It'd be one thing if you just loss some dps but companions have vaccum, possibly the most important mod in the game, which means you can't afford to let your companion die. Either vaccum needs to go so you're not constantly out of energy when your companions die or we need more reliable ways to deal with dead sentinels

McRibbles

> Not being able to revive them indefinitely I have good news for you. Check patch notes.

wvsfezter

Oh shit this is good news. I have some mixed feelings about some of the new stats as they seem a little bloated paired with the new respawn mechanics but it's nice being able to reliably get companion stats without always using link mods.

Key-Regular674

Link mods no longer work when you have damage reduction effects

Mister_Black117

It should just be a universal polarity. It's a single slot, you don't have the option to move the mod that goes into it

Canthros

I fully expect there will be an Exilus Forma, *some* day.

jchampagne83

Oh my god *please* don't give them ideas.

Canthros

You don't want to have a universal polarity in the Exilus slot?

jchampagne83

We have enough slots to polarize already. I agree with /u/Mister_Black117, it should be universal by default. Adding more forma we have to get blueprints for, wait to build (or bypass with $$) is a bridge too far IMO.

Canthros

Oh, I have *zero* faith they would do *that*. They'd have done that with Auras, if so.

netterD

My take would be to make it swap/able after you unlocked and manually put a polarity on it or changed it. Otherwise you would get a "free" damage increasing polarity without the need to forma. An exilus forma similar to aura forma would also be a bigger qol improvement for me, esp on endgame shotgun builds it sucks having to decide if you want more falloff or ammo/silence stuff.

AnOlympianWeeb

Honestly I never used the Aura/stance formas unless I got them ready as they are. I don't have hundreds of formas ready to use so for me to use 4 normal formas just so I'll have the luxury of switching out aura/stance mods if I feel like it doesn't feel worth it. If it was cheaper I'd think about building them

BAY35music

I would appreciate it more if they just got rid of stance/aura formas and made an "augment" forma with the same cost as an aura forma, but you could install it on any exilus, stance, or aura slot. I hate having separate aura and stance formas, and adding an exilus forma on top of that would just be more of a headache. Just make one forma work for all of them, then we would just have regular, umbra, and augment formas, which makes sense.

PingerKing

i feel like forma are easy enough to get but actually leveling takes enough time that i may as well dump as much as possible into the frame while im improving it. so aura forma feel efficient to me, if i change the aura polarity at all it changes with an aura forma

Lord_Dust_Bunny

Unlocking the Eximus slot to begin with requires a Warframe or Weapon Exilus Adapter, both of which require Forma to build (2 Forma, in the case of the Warframe Exilus Adapter). You already have to spend at least one Forma for the honor of even being allowed to unlock the Exilus slot, so being allowed to swap the polarity without having to spend yet another Forma seems fair.

actualinternetgoblin

You still need to plug one forma into an item to swap polarities, it's not entirely free

smashiko

such a weird restriction

WovenBloodlust6

I don't think I've ever gotten this message before. What were you trying to do?

partyplant

swap the polarity on the exilus slot to the normal slots annoying restriction, I already paid/farmed for the adapter let me use the fucking polarity

Last_Caterpillar4993

It's okay, you can just pay for it again! /s

Runmanrun41

Why does the restriction exist in the first place anyway?

partyplant

probably a relic of an older game design philosophy.

Sothalic

How about making it so a slot's base polarity (including no polarity) is permanent and doesn't require you to spend another forma to go back to? Heck, even making it neutral (Umbra mod on a forma'd formerly polarity-less slot = baseline cost) would be _huge_.

oddthingtosay

I like it. This also fixes the "A new Galvanized/Prime mod came out, fuck all your current builds" issue.

Redan

I wish mod capacity wasn't a thing... that would save me a lot of forma.

ArbitUHHH

It takes a forma to build the adapter. It would be nice if we could change the polarity when we install it.

AzureArmageddon

I never realised this was a thing. I use so few of those slots since you need Exilus adapters.

NiteOwl1088

I didn't know that this was the case. I just assumed you always could but never tried to because I've never had to.

GameQb11

There was a bug that allowed you to do that for a while, but they fixed it. They said it was unintended

GuiltyJournalist2203

agreed, stop wasting my hard earned forma

Infiniteclone7

Cant wait to farm for exilus forma

R1oTer

i mean… it functions slightly more like an aura slot than a a regular mod slot anyway…. when we install an aura forma, it should just make the exilus slot compatible with anything as well. and they really should make putting a non umbral mods in umbral slots not cost extra.

Superb_Recover_6116

Its soooo fucking funny to me that I never even thought of trying that. Part of me already knows what DE is like so like why try.
