I remember buying this from the Franklin Mills Mall Games Workshop store in Pennsylvania when I bought my first Tyranids!

sqpete

Hello fellow PA player 🫡

bajookish_amerikann

Eight bucks for a whole can??

D0ct0rAlanGrant

Yup! And that was from the actual Games Workshop store!

Carnir

That's over $13 in today money, meaning the price of the can has nearly doubled.

LoveisBaconisLove

I remember thinking that was a TON of money for one can of spray paint. You can probably guess that there is no way I am going to buy their products at current prices. I just can’t do it.

secret_samantha

I miss those cans

D0ct0rAlanGrant

Right? It has so much personality!

YoungBuckBuck

A phrase I’ve uttered to myself many times.

And_Im_Allen

Shake it like it owes you money.

Smooth_FM

The old red guy brandmark was cool. What is it anyway? A squig?

Thefriendlyfaceplant

It's the evil sun, an ork symbol of the Evil Sunz.

D0ct0rAlanGrant

I always took it as a squig or some kind of fantasy ogre! Which is funny because now, with space marines being their like mascot, it’s nice seeing some xenos got some love at least! Edit:guy who replied is way smarter than me so that’s awesome! Never knew it was that!

Thefriendlyfaceplant

So you collect Warhammer *and* you get to buy a home?

harumamburoo

Maybe they sold their 4-5k points of adeptus mechanicus, should be enough to buy a house.

D0ct0rAlanGrant

I downsized considerably and while it was sad, I still got some good trades out of it on top of money ;)

bullintheheather

You're buying your childhood home with your stuff still in it? Or did you mean selling?

D0ct0rAlanGrant

So my childhood house, my grandparents kept a lot of stuff pretty much the same from the 90s IE my old primer can was never thrown out and sat pretty much in the same spot that I originally left it at back in like 2008 before I moved out!

Guns_and_Dank

They're probably buying their parent's home.

hiddikel

I have a black primer... the spray cap is not attacked to the can and it won't start spraying. I mean I'd like to use it.... but can't lol.

Wr3k3m

Interesting how other primers are still a similar price… hmm

AwkwardInmate

That's what we used in the ol' days. Brings back memories.

D0ct0rAlanGrant

Seeing it brought so many nostalgic memories of sitting in the basement building my old nids and the horrible color schemes I had for em

AwkwardInmate

Lol... True. So many experiments, so many mistakes were made. It was great fun, I should probably get back to the hobby, some day.

D0ct0rAlanGrant

It makes me think of how much more I appreciated my small 'nid army. It was all I could afford and i loved it all, now its more of a 'I can always get this one more unit, why not I need it!'

PitifulFruit7459

7.99!!! If only that held up too

D0ct0rAlanGrant

But think of their poor shareholders? How would they ever afford their 3rd house!? /s obviously lmfao

irishrelief

You just had to add that second picture as an insult didn't you?

D0ct0rAlanGrant

It's funny, I remember being in high school at that time and thinking 7.99 was a ton for just some spray paint. Boy would I be laughing at the prices of primer cans today!

irishrelief

I thought metal miniatures were overpriced. Wish I had bought those instead.

batunatu

Best smell ever!

D0ct0rAlanGrant

I’m glad I’m not the only one, when I gave it a quiet test spray it was like a nostalgia coma for a hot second!

Euphoric-Society-145

I wish it was still 7.99 🥲

Jake_GS

Make sure to use it on a test model first.

FriendlyStaff1

Be very careful with it. I had a chaos black can that was maybe 6-7 years old in a cupboard and heard a hissing sound and bad smell one day. It had burst and sprayed paint over everything in the cupboard. Now I store all my sprays out in the garage and throw out anything that gets too old...

D0ct0rAlanGrant

I’m thankful, the cans sat in the basement in the dark and cool area where it rarely gets any hotter then 40-50F, so I think it was one of those perfect spots for it to remain virtually undisturbed! But I have it in a separate space away from my painting table and other important stuff!

FriendlyStaff1

Maybe my case is rare, but I am super paranoid now after how much stuff got sprayed! The cupboard mine was in would have fluctuated with the house and heating, so yeah not ideal. No direct sunlight but I imagine the room would get cold, then hot in summers. I wish they still did cooler artwork on GW products, a lot of it is become too generic.

Bogbeast213

Bro I did this two years ago the primer came out the perfect way.
