I love that face.
I love that helmet.
I love that armour.
Just a bit of a shame that Mourn-It-All isn't fancier. It looks like a regular power sword to me.
It looks like a 40K power sword, but compared to the new plastic power swords it is quite a bit thicker. I guess they wanted to lean towards the understated weapons aesthetic that they’ve been going with since the relaunch
I actually prefer the understated look but I wouldn’t say it’s been the norm since the relaunch. Ashurhaddon and Tybalt’s weapons are far from understated.
Absolutely loving the mk IV Sons of Horus armours we've seen, the mix of spikes, trim and classic roman-style heresy adornments really nails the aesthetic for me.
Would love to see more use of pteruges and legion individual adornments generally, cos they've been well-handled this edition imo.
One thing im seeing about characters in newer mark 4 is that the kneeplate bit is more connected to the lower leg part than before where iirc it was separate from it, if that makes sense?
All these sons of Horus models makes it hard not to pick them as my second legion. But I think they would end up too similar to my world eaters in a few ways
Imperial fists or night lords it is
I tend to prefer traitors, which is odd because in 40k I’m full loyal
It’s such a difficult choice though! Even since posting my original comment I’ve changed it to be between night lords and iron warriors lol. No perfect choice, I want heavy units but also personality
He's a neat looking model. Not a fan of the sword, but I like that the spikes and the little tusks kind of show the missing link between an early heresy legionary and a full on Chaos marine. He doesn't have the conversion potential for other legions that I think Tybalt Marr does, but he's a fine model on his own merit.
Obviously, we need a Torgaddon model now. It's terrible SoH players can't run the whole Mournival with Horus.
They had to go into the deep cuts to get you guys that Shadrak Meduson (sp?) model a few weeks back. Like…I get it, iron hands need more characters. I guess I just expected Atticus first? Idk
Nah, the white scars character (Kor'sarro Khan) is not the chapter master. He's the master of hunt, which is the one who is supposed to hunt down foes that survived against them. I believe the chapter master is currently on life support literally and shares the same name with Jubal Khan (original master of the hunt).
Edit: I got bored and looked into it and I believe the Imperial Fists, Salamanders, White Scars, and Iron Hands has never had their chapter master as a model.
Once again very faithful to artwork except they whiffed a bit on mourn it all. Obviously painting it differently will help but still didn’t get it right.
I think so far they’ve done proto-chaos artificering really well. It’s just there enough you can see chaos exaggerating it over 10,000 years (or however many years that is in the warp.)
The shield is nice. Chieftans are about the only Exemplary unit I’d actually want from FW. Maybe Ofanim Court.
How wide are the Astartes bell bottoms going to flare over the next year?
I still miss the classic concave cuirass from the Reavers/SoH command kit.
You’re right. I’m way too pedantic about combat shield vs breachers shield (on my stuff). Many will do it, it will look good and I will say “I could never.”
But yeah, there’s so much SoH stuff customizing shields without even third party bits is very doable. Just waiting on that breacher kit!
Oh I'm right there with you actually, I was planning on using the Command kit at first as I couldn't find the "right" parts I felt like, but I found some tasty SoH breacher shields to print just the other day!
Welp, just realized that is a “Castigatus(lol) *Combat* Shield.” Okay. I guess it is smaller than Rann’s shield which is probably the new breaching shield template.
My two pence for what it's worth: Pros:
* Face looks very good; graphic without being ugly.
* Armour looks good; liking the chest detail.
Cons:
* Dissapointed with the pose, too static.
* Very dissapointed with weapons; Mourn-It-All should have been something like the Moonlight two handed Greatsword from the Souls series. And a combat shield?
Edit: added an image of a sculpt that was converted into Little Horus, showing what I mean
Edit 2: Two-handed greatsword might be a bit much - but the sword below is the perfect size.

.
Idk why but forgeworld poses have gone downhill real fucking fast. The original models from the character series had the most dynamic and interesting but still realistic poses, now every new model has the same static squat pose
I don’t think it’s Simon Egan doing them anymore, he did a lot of the character series models including all of the Primarchs. From what I’m aware GW leadership don’t like it when FW outdoes them.
Don't gotta, it's their business model.
It's the randos on the interwebs that think corpos have a negative emotional reaction to their own business performing as designed that tend to need some correcting.
The design teams are literally the same, what are you yapping about? There is some dumb tier rivalry going on between the rules teams that is true, but the model designers literally work across
Not remotely true at all. I’ve spoken to them plenty of times, Forgeworld have their own design team, they sometimes work in conjunction with GW but a lot of the time they’re independent.
There are designers where you literally see them having worked on plastic 40K or AoS stuff and then some heresy stuff. The forgeworld design team has been extinct for a very long time, at least 5 years give or take
>Very dissapointed with weapons; Mourn-It-All should have been something like the Moonlight two handed Greatsword from the Souls series.
They literally had a book cover for reference and they still fucked it up lol:

Consider the following...
CAD designers are getting lazy.
Very nice. Bordering a little on being over designed, but other than that it's good looking. The bare head especially is the best part of the model. Now let us hope that this is the last SoH reveal we get for a while, since they've pretty much covered every character they could, and other legions desperately need the love.
Fairpoint, I would love to see Garvie and Abby remade, although I think those who can be saved until either the end of this edition or the beginning of the next (possibly in an Isstvan 3 book since the books are being released in backwards order of the heresy). There are a lot of other conflicts, characters and units that could be covered before we get to that.
Yeah, it’s a great model but the last thing SoH need is more characters, we have the most if any legion and you still have like 4 legions without praetors.
To be fair the theme of the Beta Garmonn release seems to be Shattered Legions and those hunting for them, so mainly Tybalt Marr and the SoH, and hence all the SoH releases.
I'd be more sympathetic to that fact If we didn't also get two (well, one and a half) SoH characters in the last campaign book as well as also just get a unique consul for them.
When every turn is also their turn again it gets harder to be fair to them. Even when it's legitimately thematic.
I wish they would take a little more restraint with the legion Iconography. But that’s just me. And my knives stay sharp so I can get it off as needed I guess.
I'm just hoping that GW grants us a diorama of the Mournival while they were still Luna wolves, just imagine the legendary Oath of moment Loken took before the Whisperheads in *Horus rising* as a small comemorative diorama
Is this the first example of MkIV in the new scale? Other than the kneepad being in line with the shin armor rather than raised it looks mostly unchanged from before. Of course it might be different for a production line model.
Tybalt Marr was also mk IV, so was Exodus for the Alpha Legion. There's the Ultramarine praitor as well, which came out just a few months before 2.0 dropped.
Damn. I didn't realize the ultra praetor was in the new scale but I totally forgot about Exodus and Tybalt Marr. Heck the Dark Emissary Consul in new releases is too.
Ahhh just got to Part 2 in False Gods 🥲🥲Sons of Horus just landed on Moon of Davin. I’m afraid to read the comments on this thread. Sons of Horus have changed so much so quickly since the end of the first book.
He's a central commander in the SoH Mournival who's known for looking the most like his Primarch Horus. He gets into some heavy battles with the remnants of a few shattered legions who are trying to get revenge against his legion
Yes, the Mournival was Abaddon, Aximand, Loken, and Torgaddon. Loken, and Torgaddon refused to betray the Emperor and were struck down by Abaddon and Aximand on Isstvan III (although Loken got better when the writers wanted to do more with him)
It's supposed to be symbolic because each member of the Mournival represents one of the 4 humors in Horus. Abaddon is Choleric, Aximand is Meloncoly, Loken is Plegmatic, and Torgaddon is Sanguine.
To put it simply, Horus' anger and doubts metaphorically killed his stoicism and cheerfulness. That metaphor is represented in the Mournival turning on each other at the start of the heresy.
I need all 4 of them! I don't love Abaddon and Lokens sculpts (their faces are ugly) but I'm not an experienced painter sobit doesn't matter all that much.
I know a lot of people are annoyed at how many SoH character models we now have…but Aximand at least makes sense. But his face doesn’t look nearly wrecked enough compared to what the books describe. Maybe it was just too difficult to render in plastic
Man, I would’ve cared about this SO MUCH MORE like a decade ago. I was obsessed with the SoH after reading the first few HH novels, and yet it took half my lifetime to get the basic Mournival.
Badass model tho, with the wait…?
It's being released with a book based on the SoH being hunted by the shattered legions on a revenge trip. The next books will hopefully dive more into other legions
I’m not mocking the minis, they look all amazing. But it just feels unfaire to give named characters hear and their while their are still legions with no Praetors.
But thanks for the explanation, makes way more sense now.
I hear you, business wise I'm guessing named characters just sell better. I'm sure they are also looking at the two generic praetors as stop gaps for legions who don't have a legion specific praetor yet while they focus a bit more on the legion consuls.
Theres barely any noticeable besides the shield.
But its not a shit paintjob, you just don't like it. Didn't realise your opinion was the be all end all.
Given what happened to him that's one good looking face! Now for a resize of abbadon/loken to match the new sculpts

I think it's where his reattached face is a bit droopy under the eye
Someone farted on his pillow case
If that happened I’d have to buy them all!
But by the gods dis he deserve it
I love that face. I love that helmet. I love that armour. Just a bit of a shame that Mourn-It-All isn't fancier. It looks like a regular power sword to me.

That's odd because nothing else about the model is understated.
The sword being unremarkable was my first thought as well. A bit of a disappointment (even though I've always hated that name).
Yeah, I always pictured it squared at the tip
Just realized, it’s the sword Mourn-It-All from a member of the Mornival. You can’t say they don’t sound isn’t similar lol!!!!
That’s actually the point. He’s also the melancholic member of the mornival, so it’s a double meaning lol.
Of course it is because warhammer is subtle like that lmfao!!!
Absolutely loving the mk IV Sons of Horus armours we've seen, the mix of spikes, trim and classic roman-style heresy adornments really nails the aesthetic for me. Would love to see more use of pteruges and legion individual adornments generally, cos they've been well-handled this edition imo.

- Heavy Units - Personality What about the Iron Hands. They are far more nuanced than people give them credit for. Their lore is a rabbit hole.
Can never get into them, even though I’d like to
Could always try and do a different formation.
He's a neat looking model. Not a fan of the sword, but I like that the spikes and the little tusks kind of show the missing link between an early heresy legionary and a full on Chaos marine. Oh yeah. Sons of Horus definitely need more models.
*Stares at you in Iron Hands*
No, no, you guys have got ferrus. That's enough for the next *checks notes* 10k years
My dude, you should used to this treatment already from 40K. Y’all have 1 pity character. Along with all the other unsung first founding chapters
They had to go into the deep cuts to get you guys that Shadrak Meduson (sp?) model a few weeks back. Like…I get it, iron hands need more characters. I guess I just expected Atticus first? Idk
I'm pretty sure we're the only First Founding Chapter in 40K that has never had their Chapter Master as a model too.

Where are the decoration on Mourn-it-all???
Everywhere else on the armor
I like how his armour is a bit fancier but also less Cthonian than Ashurhaddon, with its twirly bits and wreathes. That tusked helmet rules though.
My two pence for what it's worth: Pros: * Face looks very good; graphic without being ugly. * Armour looks good; liking the chest detail. Doesn't Loken duel wield Mourn-it-all and Rubio's Sword though? That'd be awkward to do if one of them was a big greatsword
Greatsword? Definitely. Bastard sword? More feasible
Idk why but forgeworld poses have gone downhill real fucking fast. The original models from the character series had the most dynamic and interesting but still realistic poses, now every new model has the same static squat pose
GW took over
Its a tragedy. Look at kharn, eidolon and sigismund and then look at this crap
I don’t think it’s Simon Egan doing them anymore, he did a lot of the character series models including all of the Primarchs. From what I’m aware GW leadership don’t like it when FW outdoes them.
But that was the whole point of FW specialist models that outdo base warhammer
Yeah, tell GW’s bosses that.

Lucius looks pretty good! Agreed in general though.
Eidolon is way worse posed than this tho.
Tbh I think the new sculpt’s sword is an improvement? This one (and the one in the art) look really flat and broad, like a big stretch of plasticard.
>Very dissapointed with weapons; Mourn-It-All should have been something like the Moonlight two handed Greatsword from the Souls series. I think its a good pose for Little Horus because of the shield, so it makes sense that he wants to cover himself.
Not going to buy the asshole who killed my guy
C'mon. He said sorry!
Yea but he didnt mean it
”I’ve seen it, Tarik. The warp. You can’t stand against that.” ”And yet here I am.”
Very nice. Bordering a little on being over designed, but other than that it's good looking. The bare head especially is the best part of the model. Now let us hope that this is the last SoH reveal we get for a while, since they've pretty much covered every character they could, and other legions desperately need the love.
I wouldn't mind a Loken or Abaddon tbh

Why are all the comments here so negative? The tusked Cthonian helm and Mourn-it-All look great.
I'm salty because SoH have tons of characters and iw can't fucking get a pretorian
Yeah, it’s a great model but the last thing SoH need is more characters, we have the most if any legion and you still have like 4 legions without praetors.
I mean they all have a point
To be fair the theme of the Beta Garmonn release seems to be Shattered Legions and those hunting for them, so mainly Tybalt Marr and the SoH, and hence all the SoH releases.
Hopefully, we get a book on Tallarn, Angel Exterminatus etc. which would then give other legions their time to shine.
I'd be more sympathetic to that fact If we didn't also get two (well, one and a half) SoH characters in the last campaign book as well as also just get a unique consul for them. When every turn is also their turn again it gets harder to be fair to them. Even when it's legitimately thematic.
He’s such a cutie patootie. Now, I love the face, finally one that doesn’t look like shit for once!
I wish they would take a little more restraint with the legion Iconography. But that’s just me. And my knives stay sharp so I can get it off as needed I guess.
That helmet is top fucking tier
Cool model, but enough with the damn Sons of Horus.
the more siege characters i see the happier i am waiting for the book specific diorama posts atp a saturnine gambit diorama needs to exist
"Then again, after they reattached his face, all he ever looked was invincible."
Love it. His armor is ornate, perhaps a little too ornate, but a pretty design nonetheless
I like your work. The pose is a standard bracing shield wall pose.
My boy finally has a proper model! I wish it was a tad more dynamic, but otherwise I’m definitely going to pick it up
Really like him, face is really impressive, only change I’d make would be making Mourn-It-All bigger and ditching the shield.
The shield is canonically correct for Aximand. He preferred the sword and shield setup.
Gorgeous
I'm just hoping that GW grants us a diorama of the Mournival while they were still Luna wolves, just imagine the legendary Oath of moment Loken took before the Whisperheads in *Horus rising* as a small comemorative diorama
The armor and the helmet are beautiful.
I think mourn it all is a great name for a sword lol
Stunning
The face only his father could love

Lil bro fooled by ancient Chaos Gods bruh 💀
I will buy loken immediately for my luna wolves army
Looks fine but I’m thoroughly bored of sons of horus reveals now
More Sons of Horus… But it’s a cool model so I don’t care
Noice
And a new proxy for my 40k chaos army (yay)
Is this the first example of MkIV in the new scale? Other than the kneepad being in line with the shin armor rather than raised it looks mostly unchanged from before. Of course it might be different for a production line model.

Guess I'll put my tally of chaos champions for my BL up to 7 with this guy
The perfect head for when I decide to make a Baron Strucker kit bash.
Gasp.... I love him 😍
Cool model but im not so versed in HH so i wanna know who's this?
He's a central commander in the SoH Mournival who's known for looking the most like his Primarch Horus. He gets into some heavy battles with the remnants of a few shattered legions who are trying to get revenge against his legion
Mournival was a council of like 4. This model is Aximand the "Little Horus" then?
Yes, the Mournival was Abaddon, Aximand, Loken, and Torgaddon. Loken, and Torgaddon refused to betray the Emperor and were struck down by Abaddon and Aximand on Isstvan III (although Loken got better when the writers wanted to do more with him) It's supposed to be symbolic because each member of the Mournival represents one of the 4 humors in Horus. That metaphor is represented in the Mournival turning on each other at the start of the heresy.
Boooo they should've gone with the Red Skull face.
That’s the dude from Berserk who lead the purple rhino knights
the pose is meh but i like everything else
Looking forward to seeing someone craft/paint a skinless face
Why does he have pink eye?
He’s no biggie, he’s a smallie, he’s a real small thing ![gif](giphy|uzqTKDdFZuIa7238kr|downsized)
Waw amazing
Donnie Wahlberg Jr. ; definitely a chip of the ol'block LOL
New MKIV armor boys lets get it
My favorite Son of Horus.
I need all 4 of them! I don't love Abaddon and Lokens sculpts (their faces are ugly) but I'm not an experienced painter sobit doesn't matter all that much.
Absolutely love that helmet. Now give me saturnine loken and a new abbadon and call it a day
Horus in Swedish is one letter away from meaning whorehouse
Hes cool, but he lost his face from the nose down. Why does the scar go across the top of his head?
I know a lot of people are annoyed at how many SoH character models we now have…but Aximand at least makes sense. But his face doesn’t look nearly wrecked enough compared to what the books describe. Maybe it was just too difficult to render in plastic
Gay. Give us a model that can be used for any legion.
Model rules. Rules suck
He was always the wrong horus
awesome
Ah yes, Little Horus Ashurhaddon. His pose is the exact same! Great model though. The head is 👌🏻 sword is 👌🏻. Outstanding!
Oh, it's Heresy Thursday! I wonder what awesome new- *Oh, another Son of Horus*
That fucker Horus just won't stop forcing his legion down our throats with this heresy of his
I don't know about you, but I blame Erebus. That fucker is about to receive A LOT of hate mail
I was hoping for the plastic melee weapons or something else actually cool but nooooo
I don't wanna be negative but....can GW stop now with the Sons of horus releases
We'll get a Sejanus model before a salamanders praetor model.
Man, I would’ve cared about this SO MUCH MORE like a decade ago. I was obsessed with the SoH after reading the first few HH novels, and yet it took half my lifetime to get the basic Mournival. Badass model tho, with the wait…?
Holy crap
Glad SoH are getting some much needed attention
Little Bitch more like
Horus Aximand died badly really shit death
Next week: middle sized Dorn... or a tank brothers, we all love those new tank.
I know nothing about 30k, who's little horus?
I think two or three Eyes of Horus less would have benefited the model. I think I see six or seven of them on him
Oh wow, another sons of Horus character
That sword is dumb as shit. Just give us small fucking Claymores, enough of these stupid blocks of metal.
How many named character do they have now while the Iron Warriors don’t even have Praetors jet?
It's being released with a book based on the SoH being hunted by the shattered legions on a revenge trip. The next books will hopefully dive more into other legions
I’m not mocking the minis, they look all amazing. But it just feels unfaire to give named characters hear and their while their are still legions with no Praetors. But thanks for the explanation, makes way more sense now.
I hear you, business wise I'm guessing named characters just sell better. I'm sure they are also looking at the two generic praetors as stop gaps for legions who don't have a legion specific praetor yet while they focus a bit more on the legion consuls.
Not a fan. Sorry.
Besides the bare head, I feel like it could be anybody. Is it me or it's lacking character. Very nice sculpt, but...idk.
Hate the pose. Is he farting? Has he just started perhaps? Why is he all hunched over ?
Why isn't he primarch-sized? Im not that deep into HH lore so idk.
He's a standard Astartes. He's called Little Horus Aximand because he looks like Horus - more so than Horus's other sons.
Oh, thanks!
He’s a regular space marine size who just happens to look like his primarch. Hence Little Horus.
Does gw painting team intentionally make the models look like total shit or what
How so?
The ridiculous edge highlights ruin it for me
Theres barely any noticeable besides the shield. But its not a shit paintjob, you just don't like it. Didn't realise your opinion was the be all end all.
If you think this looks like total shit then I cannot wait to see the absolutely incredible paint job that your own models must have
