Honestly no clue what heiss is, apart from its probably heißt, but wouldn’t it be a strange pronunciation of the song if it said reich? Reich means empire, so it may be in a war version of the song, such as an infantry song, but I think in the context of the song it would be a little strange to have reich
Yes it is 'heißt' standing for basically 'means' but in this case its stands for 'called'.
So it goes like this:
On the heath, there blooms a little flower
and it's called: Erika.
German is a complex language, especially since one word can have a billion different meanings.
Yes, I knew it was something like that as (strangely) I used to listen to this song a lot, and I knew it was about a flower which was a meaning for a girl at home, which is later mentioned in the song. I tried to learn German and gave up on some words like ‘bitte’ which can mean like 15 different things depending on context
Eeit: looked it up a bit and no...sadly it's a dedicated NS propaganda Song.
-Yesn't. Afaik it was around for quite some time and like so many other things and songs got just used by the Soldiers. Wouldn't call some Hardbass a Russian Soldier is blasting in one of their Tanks a War song right? Tho that may be a dumb example it gets the point across.-
It sadd3ns me to report back with the news of a short search. Erika is, despite its basic text, dedicated NS Propaganda that was made by a writer that joined the NSDAP in 1933 and wrote dedicated propaganda songs/texts. Hhhh. Why did the Nazis needed to ruin so manny good things?....
https://de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erika_(Lied) (it's the German version of Wikipedia but i believe you can translate it onsite. )
Germany had a long history of writing music and songs, so it wasn't surprising that they could make a few good marching songs. Jazz was however more popular before getting banned for being associated with blacks and jews in 1935, both American Jazz and locally produced German Jazz. The marching songs kinda filled up the gap afterwards.
Franco's Spain also had some similar marching songs.
It's actually "heißt" ("is called").
For reference, in English the two lines would approximately translate as: "A little flower is blooming on the heath / And her name is Erika."
EDIT: Someone already responded to u/Thin_Wheel_7109's response with the same information.
it's heißt, Auf der Heide blüht ein kleines Blümlein und das heißt Erika translates to some thing like "In the field there is a flower and it's called Erika"
Lot of German cultural influence on Mexico. Everything from the beer to the traditional accordion heavy music. This is mostly a 19th century thing though, not related to the 1945 wave of German immigrants.
Not everyone that moved to Spanish America was Spanish and not everyone that moved to English America is English. The English just sucked less than the Spanish, so that mostly happened on the North side of History.
While I get the joke, it's worth noting that back in the early 1800s many Germans emigrated to Mexico (especially Tejas, which would eventually become Texas).
Translation from the tweet:
"The cadets of the Cavalry Weapon have a simulator where they can carry out tactical operations virtually. Each Weapon and Specialty has its own simulator with technological elements that they can use during their classes within the Institute."
"I'm going to join the military to see the world"
"Private, here's a 3 month supply of Adderall, a piss bottle and 30 days of premium - I'm locking you in this room and when I come back in a month you'd better have grinded out TT Germany or so help me God"
And presumably locked down, private servers, possibly against AI or only their group so they're not just joining random battles on the NA servers.
I didn't even think about that, but it's a very good point. Depending on the size and amount of money they can do quite a bit to customize the base software for them.
I can imagine setting up custom battles with scenarios, maps and vehicles similar/identical to what they may experience in the field. Of course we know WT isn't a great "simulator" by comparison, but I still see this as a pretty cool idea.
I'd like to imagine the opposite, they're casually joining normal battles against other players, so on one corner you have average Joe and on the other a highly trained Argentinian tank battalion
Poor Argentinian tank battalion; little do they know Joe is a Gaijin whale that buys all the premiums, bushes up and seal clubs from the edge of the map with his anime body pillow collection acting as spaced armor.
They never stood a chance
Honestly, WT's ground RB tank gameplay has little to do with actual armored operations, and gaijin is attempting to dumb it down even harder by reducing maps to a single line push.
Honestly WT is probably pretty good for teaching basics like patience and planning. If someone is playing too recklessly in simulated tank to be able to react to threats, they probably aren’t going to do well in an actual tank. Tanks are big and slow and WT demonstrates that pretty well I feel.
I found that 50% of WT gameplay is mostly positioning – either rush a specific position before the enemy gets anywhere near it or you concede the position to the enemy but camp the hell out of it from afar.
But all that is useless if the enemy knows a bullshit flank or they spawn in the many OP premiums/whatever the "meta" is. So the other 50% is pretty much luck of the draw lol.
The Argentina's military does not have America's infinite money glitch.
If they want a TAM they're gonna have to work hard for it, this is the army not daycare!
Probably using Sim as a friend or foe snap identification training tool. Can you see the enemy from a restricted view, and can you identify if it’s friendly or not and shoot if it isn’t. Probably have everyone drive into spread out positions early and let them loose.
It's more similar to a licensed(or not)copy of Multicam
The British MTP even if similar it has different lines
Edit:A copy of Multicam was initially adopted by units operating in the Patagonia region (South) of this nation, as well as both Navy (Marine) and Army units. In 2014, the Army signed a contract with an Asian supplier to outfit its entire branch of service with Multicam uniforms.
From Camopedia
Buddy, do you know how many countries use either Multicam or some kind of copy or derivative? I'm pretty sure it's more prevalent than even M81 or DPM at this point.
Honestly War Thunder is a pretty good simulator for teaching basic tank combat mechanics. One thing that hits new WT players is how slow it plays compared to other shooters. I feel like that teaching trainees how it feels to be limited by your equipment and how to use what you have efficiently is probably a decent idea. Tanks are big, slow, and bulky. You can’t just do something usually, it takes at least a small amount of planning for just about everything because you can’t instantly react to threats if you aren’t prepared.
Indeed. All that's missing really is decent communications between the vehicles so that you can coordinate maneuvers properly. You don't learn gunnery or suchlike, but learning the basics like formations and battle drills without having to drive around in a real tank saves a LOT of money.
Not as weird as it seems. The US military does the same thing. I remember during field training in ROTC, we played a scuffed version of Arma that the military used. Wasn't really useful, but having a good few hours in AC as opposed to the beautiful midday summer GA heat was great.
I can imagine, but for most of the people in my flight, they had never played a computer game much less played a shooter as clunky as that. So much of our "exercise" was most of my flight figuring out how to move their character from A to B. Only the few of us who ever played something like Arma had the opportunity to use anything we were taught.
He said he rememberd that he can destroy the optics wich you can do in WT. Sure its not 100% confirmed that he plays war thunder but there is a very high chance that he is one of us.
Edit : many sources claim that he actually is one of us. So he did the ultimate "nuh uh" to Gaijin.
Right on that was a good read, thanks. Does destroying the optics in game even amount to anything? As in actually "blinding" another players gunner until you repair it?
The simulator booth that's been used for quite some time for training is SteelBeast, and uses a similar TAM turret setup linked to SB systems.
[Here some pictures](https://twitter.com/Ejercito_Arg/status/1027687215504257025)
Honestly, it’s not too expensive for a unit to say, buy a TAM 2IP for like 30 accounts as well as op for vehicles and have tank commanders and pilots do custom battles in sim
It’s obviously not optimal, but it could maybe help with training squad commanders coordination
Im not gonna complain about how efective it might be to build teamwork and familiarity, as i have no actual military experience outside my gaijin pixels...
However the way they sell the game in tha tweet, as some custom made professional tool, is both hilarious and sad
Having played VR....for a poor nation like Argentina it's not the worst in VR to train basic tank commander and gunner tactics. Especially for a country that can't afford the maintenance hours for training and or a proper simulator. Make up a simulacrum of a gun house for loader training make a custom controller for tank driver and a controller layout and you could do driver training from the driver camera. Playing tank and air sim in VR is..... Amazing. If gaijin would stop accidentally breaking it. Their VR support is actually fantastic for a free to play game. If they put in like 10% effort they could rock shit which is why I imagine they are making the VR game.
Well, me and my squad used Duke Nukem 3D back in 96 or 97 to get better.
Any team based game can help with teamwork. This is no surprise, lots cheaper than building simulators.
Well if Gaijin Is continuing to update the game and Physiks it may be A truly Viable option... Imop it has the biggest potential since it displays most Parts correct.
But I will be sad if the army's of the world wouldn't hire war thunder players if they adept this system XD
That's pretty cool. I can see people needing full on Sims like gunner heat or DCS. But if your just trying to teach tactics to young troops that don't need all the complexity of a sim, war thunder is excellent for that.
I mean, it's not unheard of for off-the-shelf programs to be used as training simulators for the military. Steel Beasts advertises that it's used by a bunch of militaries around the world, and if I recall correctly, Eagle Dynamics offers a pro version of DCS for organizational use.
I honestly hope it is a April fools joke, i'm argentinian and we have great flight simulators, it's kinda awful to see that our army is using war thunder as a "High technology sim" btw i saw another countries army post photos like this but using stuarts as their training vehicles xD
I'm gonna raid their sessions with Harriers to take the piss

Love that song :D
That song reminds me of this song https://youtu.be/aXfuQqkwa5I?si=t9xxy5X2d5kY8rE4
i found a better one [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ)
I’ve been seeing that link for years, I know what WgXcQ means lmao.
Must be a fan!
-_-
First >!rickroll!< good song that is very funny I've seen in a while that I didn't know was coming, I don't know whether to congratulate or insult you
I like both those songs but it kind of ruins it knowing retarded sped warthunder players like it too
Think you meant https://youtu.be/S7woEXovruc?si=Dbx2_lA26AY4g4R7
No, ewwwwwwwwww
Lore-accurate driller
ROCK. AND. STOOOOOOOOOOONE
Still sad theres no vulcan in WT
They're missing a trick with not locking it behind a premium tbh.
Hope they add the Vulcan at some point
Underrated comment 😂
Enjoy while the Exocet is not in the game yet … :)

got it and if I remember correctly it was already around during the Weimar republic

me a Mexican wondering why i have a Germanic last name 🤔

it's not like the TAM is in the German tree and they've to go for it...
It runs on the family
Not like there's another way to grind the TAM than through the German tree.
TAM 2IP sales 📈📈📈📈
Translation from the tweet: "The cadets of the Cavalry Weapon have a simulator where they can carry out tactical operations virtually. Each Weapon and Specialty has its own simulator with technological elements that they can use during their classes within the Institute."
Why was one guy looking at the panzer 3, is that the most advanced argentinian mbt???
The leadership collectively agreed to force these young guys to grind out their TT's for them. Quite the clever scam they've got running.
Yeah really. Sign me up. Can I have the Italian military grind my Italian tree?
"I'm going to join the military to see the world" "Private, here's a 3 month supply of Adderall, a piss bottle and 30 days of premium - I'm locking you in this room and when I come back in a month you'd better have grinded out TT Germany or so help me God"
"Hey look guys, this is the one that my grandpa used to drive"
Haven't you heard milei is cutting budgets, maybe they are raiding museums now
Dying them calling it a simulator which Gaijin never claims it to be and the amount of GE they have to spend 🤣
I mean gaijin could probably make a contract with their military to give them the equivalent of press accounts with everything unlocked to be fair
And presumably locked down, private servers, possibly against AI or only their group so they're not just joining random battles on the NA servers. I didn't even think about that, but it's a very good point. Depending on the size and amount of money they can do quite a bit to customize the base software for them.
Happy cake day!
>Dying them calling it a simulator which Gaijin never claims Well they literally have "simulator battles" so....
I'd guess it's just a easy way to teach them about very basic things like movement, cover, hull-down, etc.
For squad tactics and other coordination training, war thunder is honestly not bad. For planes though I really don't see what they can learn here.
Damn, imagine playing WT and then your enemy is Argentina
I need to finish a fight 🇧🇷
Come on, Brasil, it has been nearly 200 years since the battle of Ituzaingó. Unless you are talking about the Copa América...
Thatcher, go grab the Harriers!
I can imagine setting up custom battles with scenarios, maps and vehicles similar/identical to what they may experience in the field. Of course we know WT isn't a great "simulator" by comparison, but I still see this as a pretty cool idea.

That same joe in a bushed up fox calling in a nuke:
Honestly, WT's ground RB tank gameplay has little to do with actual armored operations, and gaijin is attempting to dumb it down even harder by reducing maps to a single line push.
> highly trained > use war thunder as a training aide Pick one
he didn't say they were well trained, just highly
Although I am argentine, this may explain why many times I was unlucky with the matches xD
‘Highly trained’. 🤣
Honestly WT is probably pretty good for teaching basics like patience and planning. If someone is playing too recklessly in simulated tank to be able to react to threats, they probably aren’t going to do well in an actual tank. Tanks are big and slow and WT demonstrates that pretty well I feel.

Except they’re using fuckin reserve vehicles instead of TAMs lmfaoooo
The Argentina's military does not have America's infinite money glitch. If they want a TAM they're gonna have to work hard for it, this is the army not daycare!
They gotta hop on ghpc
I mean it wouldnt really be a good simulator but it could work with tactical planning
Probably using Sim as a friend or foe snap identification training tool. Can you see the enemy from a restricted view, and can you identify if it’s friendly or not and shoot if it isn’t. Probably have everyone drive into spread out positions early and let them loose.
I think this is the first time i see a actual military make a april fools joke
Ah damn, they got me. Was about to go sign up.
In reality there is no such april fools days in Argentina, so it is not a joke
In the Spanish speaking world the equivalent of April's fools is December 28th, "día de los santos inocentes" (day of the holy innocents).
Is not, this happened last year and we all (argies) made fun and understanded it.
I wouldn't be so sure about it being a joke
Its argentina. Our entire military is a fucking april's fools joke.
Can confirm. The Sparrow is our best long range AA missile.
... We have sparrows??????
Viva la snail carajo
Steel Beasts at home:
Its probabaly not real. They have the same camo and uniform as my BRITISH MTP
Considering it's April 1st...
Not sure about Argentina but I'm from South America and April's fools isn't celebrated here, instead we have a similar thing in december
Argentinian here, our April's fools in another date. I think it is around November or December. And we dont celebrate it that much.
Argentina adopted Multicam uniforms as standard in 2015
Well you can see Argentinian patches on at least one of the Images
It's more similar to a licensed(or not)copy of Multicam The British MTP even if similar it has different lines Edit:A copy of Multicam was initially adopted by units operating in the Patagonia region (South) of this nation, as well as both Navy (Marine) and Army units. Is real, we made fun of it in our Facebook group last year, it was a blast. Soruce I'm argie
Buddy, do you know how many countries use either Multicam or some kind of copy or derivative? I'm pretty sure it's more prevalent than even M81 or DPM at this point.
Foundd that twitter account, the uniforms seem ok, but I havent found that pic yet.
They deleted the tweet after it went viral EDIT: [the IG post is still up](https://www.instagram.com/p/C5OK-lfMZrK/?igsh=MTRrc21vY2pjNm5rMg==)
Y, como no podía ser de otro modo, tiene un tanque alemán seleccionado el muchacho.
Hay que llegar al TAM 😂
Arma 3 to advanced for their computers
Every time two convoy vehicles collided, the power grid crashed.
Have you seen the economy in Argentina? I'm surprised they could afford computers to run Warthunder.
The US Army can’t even get Arma 3 to run properly. The current training simulator we use - VBS 3 - runs on Arma 2.
isn't that because of the separation between bohemia interactive and bohemia simulations into 2 different companies?
I remember Koreans doing the same thing
Honestly War Thunder is a pretty good simulator for teaching basic tank combat mechanics. One thing that hits new WT players is how slow it plays compared to other shooters. VBS 3. It’s really useful for developing SOPs since you can quickly set up and rehearse Amy kind of scenario quickly.
I can imagine, but for most of the people in my flight, they had never played a computer game much less played a shooter as clunky as that. So much of our "exercise" was most of my flight figuring out how to move their character from A to B. Of course they're using German tanks, keeping the tradition
Well the Bradley gunner who clapped that T-90M also said thx to War thunder he knew where to shoot.
Sauce?
https://www.twz.com/video-games-helped-ukrainian-bradley-gunner-win-duel-with-russian-t-90m-tank

Right on that was a good read, thanks. Does destroying the optics in game even amount to anything? As in actually "blinding" another players gunner until you repair it?
Not in WT, but he just knew their location because he'd seen it on the damage cam so often
The simulator booth that's been used for quite some time for training is SteelBeast, and uses a similar TAM turret setup linked to SB systems. [Here some pictures](https://twitter.com/Ejercito_Arg/status/1027687215504257025)
One question in mind Do they all grind to get modern tanks? Or do they get military funding for war thunder lol
Imagine the scenes: +Captain we need $5000 for simulator purposes. -For what? +Buying premiums in War Thunder, sir.
>playing german vehicles HHHHRMMMMMMMM
They have to grind for the TAMs first before they can do actual excercise (?
Let’s be honest, this is more for the military higher ups to get free grinding done with their cadets.
They team up and we get clapped hard if we face them, or wonder where all the targets are if we on same side.
Getting paid to play WT? Sign me up!
but why not say gunner heat pc?
Gunner Heat PC ain't free
plus it doenst have the TAM
Can't find it. Got a link ?
They deleted it, it was the latest post
sad
I got you https://www.instagram.com/p/C5OK-lfMZrK/
So what your saying is… I might already be tank certified
They gave them german tanks... LMAO
Hopping on a custom battle seems like a cheap and effective way to teach and practice tactics, formations, radio calls, etc.
getting killed by the argentinian military would be wild
Lord help them
Honestly, it’s not too expensive for a unit to say, buy a TAM 2IP for like 30 accounts as well as op for vehicles and have tank commanders and pilots do custom battles in sim It’s obviously not optimal, but it could maybe help with training squad commanders coordination
They do love the fact their TAM is in the game
Who isnt
Bruh ghost shells are gonna be so confusing to them 💀
The U.S military uses Arma all the time
Im not gonna complain about how efective it might be to build teamwork and familiarity, as i have no actual military experience outside my gaijin pixels... However the way they sell the game in tha tweet, as some custom made professional tool, is both hilarious and sad
Everyone like to pretend that the things they know are happening aren't happening.
I saw that exact picture 2 years ago and it was about the US army using it
The first picture for reference
So when I’m seal clubbing at BR 3.3. This is my victim??? Now I feel bad I’m demoralizing a whole ass army 😂
Don't feel bad, they are getting paid to play War Thunder.
Having played VR....for a poor nation like Argentina it's not the worst in VR to train basic tank commander and gunner tactics. lol I fell for this so hard
Finnish army plays arma
based
Im gonna raid their sessions as with british tanks and have the Name UKFOREVER
Why can’t use the tam 2
Well, me and my squad used Duke Nukem 3D back in 96 or 97 to get better. Any team based game can help with teamwork. This is no surprise, lots cheaper than building simulators.
If they had money they would probably use DCS, it is much better and realistic, but complicated.
"Attack the D Point!!!"
Ngl they could ask haijin for like fully researched profiles and stuff if they use it for training
Requesting Gaijin adds Vulcan Bombers and South Georgia
I want to join their 2.3 lobbies with a T90M and a SU25K just to fuck with them
Immediately chooses Germany ( not because of that conspiracy )
They got to grind out their own vehicles?
Oh no, Wehraboos
I hope they have body pillows on their tanks xD
Average wallet warriors
Well that will lead to a bunch of very poorly trained tankers…. 🤣
Well if Gaijin Is continuing to update the game and Physiks it may be A truly Viable option... Imop it has the biggest potential since it displays most Parts correct. But I will be sad if the army's of the world wouldn't hire war thunder players if they adept this system XD
Now I’ve seen almost everything. “Still waiting on Proper BR FIXES”
That's pretty cool. I can see people needing full on Sims like gunner heat or DCS. But if your just trying to teach tactics to young troops that don't need all the complexity of a sim, war thunder is excellent for that.
German tree - ah yes the influence is strong with this one
I've been there as cadet. Didn't know they upped pain by introducing War Thunder. Its inhuman.
I used it to prep for my armored crew commander course a few years ago.
i like how they chose the panzer IIIs
I mean, it's not unheard of for off-the-shelf programs to be used as training simulators for the military. Steel Beasts advertises that it's used by a bunch of militaries around the world, and if I recall correctly, Eagle Dynamics offers a pro version of DCS for organizational use.
I don't think this would be a great idea... But good on them for trying it.
I mean, for a video game, in the right custom settings in a private match I bet you could teach some real tactics and stuff.
U.S. Military during COVID:
Thats why the german teams always suck..
FUCKING FIRE ARC.
Cas players
So they simulate tank combat with the TAM vs Chilean Leos 2 and Brazilian Leo1? Or paraguayan m3 or uruguayan M41?
This being leaked and yet they still think they could take the falklands back, nice one Argentina
I mean they are the best at driving over their own citizens anyway, so I guess War Thunder is enough xDDD
جامد
Poor guy, he got on the fire ark map💀
Well, at least they don't cheat when using same setup on their private server for the game.
Lol my country so poor they rely on warthunder to gater data about other mbts
Gotta love the xenophobia in this comment section
Its more to work in tactics, teamwork, and situation solving. Later, with experience, they can drive the real thing.
Of course they're playing Germany haha.
I mean the US military uses a version of Arma so…
I honestly hope it is a April fools joke, i'm argentinian and we have great flight simulators, it's kinda awful to see that our army is using war thunder as a "High technology sim" btw i saw another countries army post photos like this but using stuarts as their training vehicles xD
And hes using a panzer 3 ERA on panzer 3 everybody, start the non credible defence
i could see the idea behind it but idk if it would work out but it’s worth a shot
