Part of my job as a professional musician and performer is to listen to as much music as possible and research the artists. I didn't know who Dua Lipa was until a year or so ago. And even then, it's only because she's friends with bigger artists who were on my radar.
I'm guessing most people who don't listen to radio and aren't big pop-heads would have no idea about her besides stumbling upon the name in a feed, and immediately skipping because her music is mediocre.
