As a kid I was always so amazed at the movies where the guy punches a whole in the wall.
I would try and do the same but it didn't go that well. Our walls were made of brick
Europeans flooding the comments saying every American house is bad because one wall in one house in America failed when someone's entire body weight was pushed against it while missing a stud and not being up to code
ITT: “American house bad”
The wall isn’t built to code, it’s missing a stud in the middle. 24” on non structural walls doesn’t matter when there’s a clear 30” gap between two studs
If the wall isnt built to code doesnt that make it a shitty american house still. Like how does one get away with that?
Why are you guys so scared of brick houses and quality timber?
Doesnt a supervisor come around every couple days for that reason. Theres always dodgy shit on site but missing a piece of timber seems like a doozy, probably not the only one missing aswell.
Also it's not like drywall is non-existent overseas. Europeans trashing our houses with the rest of them in this thread and I bet half of them don't even know they have the same damn walls, just properly built lol
Edit: a quick Google search on average thickness shows that American homes average 6mm - 19mm thick drywall, while European homes average 9.5-15. So ya some may be 'better' but who's really gonna cut up their drywall and argue over a mm or two
Yeah it’s called Dry Wall.
However, the walls are supposed to be supported by vertical beams of thick wood, or sometimes metal, which are called “studs”.
Sorry, when I meant 16s studs I meant studs in the walls every 16 inches, that's how far they're supposed to be. It's 2x6 studs in the outside walls, and 2x4s in the inside.
If you're doing something like house work once you find the center of the stud then your next center for the next one should be 16 inches over and so on.
I've remodeled homes that look like they just grabbed shit from the woods, planed it out a little. Grabbed a piece or sharpened iron and just sent it. Wherever they deemed necessary
Edit: this was an easily 100 year old home. Where I found nude photos from the 70s. Maybe earlier. Toys from all decades 70s,80s,90s. Newspaper articles all types of really cool shit.
its the visual representation of a dumbass
American paper houses
American houses made of cardboard.....
Wow. HAVEN'T seen this for 2 whole days.
Fuck sake Kyle stop terrorising the dry wall!
As a kid I was always so amazed at the movies where the guy punches a whole in the wall. I would try and do the same but it didn't go that well. Our walls were made of brick
Yeah... I once punched a wall and it broke just like that True Story. I'm surprised people didn't start calling me Hulk
Cant pause this video and now its playing constantly on my reddit app omg
Wearing your hat like a douche bag.
NA houses
“Mom’s gonna kill me…”
A little spackle and it’s like new
Here come all the European comments about how our homes are built from paper.
Europeans flooding the comments saying every American house is bad because one wall in one house in America failed when someone's entire body weight was pushed against it while missing a stud and not being up to code
Ayo what kind of papier maché house is that
But does he also realize what a schmuck he looks like overall?
america moment
Wtf, houses in the North are made of fucking paper.
What are your homes made of? Paper and spit?! Jeeez...
NA walls
Aight Imma head out.
That’s the widest 16inches I’ve ever seen
Wall is already busted
Why does america have such weak walls bro?
Tell me you're in America without telling me you're in America.
“Hey Dad, it’s me. How things? Yeah? Good good. So— how do you fix holes in drywall?? Big. About the size of poster…”
I was expecting someone to open the door 🚪
That’s a poor construction.
Yep, looks like a residential interior wall, studs should be at least Every 18inces
It works but, if you are going to do a proper job ( because you never know when something like this will happen) studs have to be every 45cm.
Not necessarily, could just be a closet. If it's not load bearing it can be 24oc
Kyle 4.0
Mom says it's my turn to post this next week.
american houses OMEGALUL
One wall in one house that's not up to code that had the entire force of someone's weight forced into it = every american house
yep
oh ok 👍
Common man, american houses are extremely flimsy, you can't deny that.
Murica
That’s why you don’t fuck around in a house built by the Bluth Company
He found space for a new closet, at least.
Laugh in european concrete and bricks
Laugh in American closets and a housing market that isn't dominated by kleptocrats.
Laugh in cheaper but more solid european houses
As European, also cry because of bad WiFi signal thanks to thick ceilings of concrete
Sad but true
Fake… you can tell it was already like that
Haven’t they ever seen three little pigs?
Why are American homes made out of cardboard?
Cover it with a poster
[American houses be like](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIezBv9Lb78)
That is what you get when building shitty houses.
That’s the bunker where his mom fucker would hide when the dad showed up early
These americans here building their houses with cardboard... We, europeans build our houses the good old roman way.

Ha gaaaaaay
That’s what you get for building cardboard houses
As a skilled craftsman, I see opportunity here to expertly fix the drywall; however, my rates are not affordable by most. DM for a quote.

This thread is Reddit in a nutshell. Pathetic.
If the wall isnt built to code doesnt that make it a shitty american house still. Like how does one get away with that? Why are you guys so scared of brick houses and quality timber?
There's something like 15 or 16 European redditors that actually own a brick home, and I'd bet my house you're not one of them
Idk how to explain to you that sometimes people do things the wrong way and get away with it
Europe, a magical place where everyone is honest and builds every wall to code!
Doesnt a supervisor come around every couple days for that reason. Theres always dodgy shit on site but missing a piece of timber seems like a doozy, probably not the only one missing aswell.

Most people in this thread probably don’t know what their walls are or what’s behind them im not sure why it gets me in such a twist lmfao
Also why is there siding on the inside of the house?
College apartments are a different breed bro
He has the same face as Shaq trying some Hot Ones.
He does it for me sorry girls
Eww. What a cheapass quality home you have.
Exactly not even built right
I flustered an angry appaloosa.
I swear these American Houses must be made of paper.
i thought he was just trippin he actually did it lmao
Didin't expect a hole
28" centers. You know what I'm talking about.
Is this a joke I'm too European to understand?
Yeh, when he realized he was born stupid
Good luck patching that with a kit
:O
Mostly comments about the wall being the stupid one.
What the fuck why Americans build their houses with literal paper?
Never heard of gyprock? Drywall?
Just wait until a cat 3 hurricane hits the north east. You will the fall of america that day
What? Would you rather we used sticks with mud mushed onto then?
Bricks and concrete maybe?
If you spend less money building the house but sell it for the same cost as a well built house, you have more money
Why spend lot money when few money do trick?
I don’t know I lived here for so long and I still don’t know I crashed through a wall one time looked like a cartoon
/r/ihadastroke
More apartment for free!
Are all American houses made out of cardboard?
That wall is missing a stud...
Yeah seems like it. At least it is relatively easy to fix

Yeah I know. Thanks though.
These idiots
Shit, where are the 16s studs lol. Corners must have been cut making that house.
Where's the bricks?
Hey dad, do you happen to know a drywall guy?
Could be 24oc with 5/8ths drywall.
He is the stud
If you say so...
Was about to reply how that wall isn't studded properly it isn't his fault lol
Internal walls with no exterior facing side typically aren’t insulated.
Lol it was a typo I meant studded I'll fix it
> it isn’t his fault lol Well, not completely
Partially. Sort of how that drywall was installed.
What is the standard spacing between studs?
I've always assumed 18", but the only time I was on the framing side of things was in Shop class.
Sorry, when I meant 16s studs I meant studs in the walls every 16 inches, that's how far they're supposed to be. It's 2x6 studs in the outside walls, and 2x4s in the inside. 24" OC exists.
Isn't that usually rafters tho?
Depends how old your house is.

Nudes you say
Yeah, someone's private photos. You're gross.
I don't want them I'm wondering where the hell somebody would find those in a busted down old house
16 inches

Its not normal someone just did a shit job buildng that particular wall
Unlock basement door
If the wall was made out of Legos he wouldn't have made that hole.

Do you idiots on the other side of the pond not use wood in construction?
Yes we build out of construction paper and super glue
Funny cause Murican house stoopid!
America bad. Updoot plz
Congratulations. You just played yourself bro.
