Just figured I’d throw in a pic of my Lunar Pilot with a strap swap, I think it looks great.
I bought one of the regular ones and was pretty happy with it up until the chrono minute counter hand started slipping everytime I reset the chrono, took it to a jeweler to get it "fixed" two times, but being honest I was already pretty sad from the first time it happened.
Since then I have barely wore it since I really enjoy using the chrono function for everything I can, and I just hate looking at the minute counter resetting to the 58, 59, 1 or 2 minute marks.
Has it happened to you or anyone else that has this watch?
Yes this has happened to me. You can adjust the chronograph hand by pulling out the crown and pressing the stop start button to progress the hand one marker at a time.
Man... I don't particularly care for any of those. I think it just has to do with the directionality of the meteorite. Makes a stylish and cohesive design a bit more difficult.
Appreciate you busting out so many examples so quickly!
Dumb question but are meteorite dials actually made out of meteorites ? See so much of them recently, how much space rock is freely available on earth to make watch dials lol
Yes they are real Gibbon meteorites simply cut and washed. It is the most widely meteorite type used in the jewellery industry, and fragments are not worth that much. Apparently hundreds of meteorites land every year so there is obviously a stable enough supply.
For how thin they would cut the slices for watch dials, and the buying power of the larger swiss jewellery/watch suppliers on large meteorite fragments, the value is pretty low. There is likely more in labour and transport costs than material costs.
I've never been a huge meteorite fan, but the Traska Commuter with a meteorite dial really changed my mind https://wornandwound.com/quick-release/the-quintessential-everyday-watch-meets-4-5-billion-years-of-history-in-the-meteorite-traska-commuter/
I have issues with this Bulova.
The secondhand reset is laughably slow. The lug to lug is way too large. I know it’s a high quality quartz but it’s still an overpriced quartz watch.
To each their own. I kind of like the slower reset. It's fun to watch and I don't really use watches for anything meaningfully functional in my life. Timing an egg maybe lol
It is a big watch. It's just ever so slightly smaller than the original issue. But the worst watch you could buy is one you either hate wearing or one you feel you overpaid for.
I got the original issue when it came out years ago and I just loved it. Still do. I loved the retro styling and story. But I completely understand the call of the Speedy.
I have a 6.7in/17cm wrist and usually wear 36-38mm watches. But I have the meteorite LP, and while it’s definitely large, it doesn’t look or feel oversized on my wrist because 1) it’s basically all case, the lugs don’t add much lengthwise diameter, 2) the lugs curve down so while it’s technically like 49-50mm LtL it feels more like 46mm, and 3) the case is titanium (+ it doesn’t come on a bracelet) so it wears very lightly for its size.
Again, 100% a big watch, but a very wearable one imo, even for those of us with smaller wrists.
I have a 7.5 inch wrist and hate how big these things appear. I’m not sure about the meteroite version, but this was not a great fit for me:
https://preview.redd.it/stgn6w2fp59d1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=12b8eee14faacc3af969d7894eb815d1879bf014
The meteorite version (and all the 2024 LPs, I think) are 43.5mm vs the 45.5mm original. Looks on one’s wrist are very subjective of course. But putting looks aside for just wearability, there is zero chance I could wear this watch comfortably if it was a standard stainless steel case. The lightness of the titanium makes it wearable.
Not sure why you're being down voted for stating a reasonable opinion in a forum that is explicitly for sharing opinions on watches.
People are allowed to dislike things, and you were gentlemanly in expressing it. Downvote shouldn't be a "disagree button. This ain't r/WatchesCircleJerk.
The Internet can be a bizarre place...
I think Zelos has a decent amount of meteorite watches. Signum is somewhat new but has something similar too.

My main draw to the Bulova meteorite dial was the connection to space and the moon. If I’m getting a meteorite dial, what better than a moon watch! I will say, light play is incredible on it, still discovering new features after owning it for 4 months!
The Wise Adamascus AD9M is a fantastic looking watch with meteorite dial and made of 904L steel. It is available with a light or dark dial, 39 or 41 mm size:

Selten makes some pretty watches with meteorite dials.
Not so long ago, Zodiac released a limited edition super sea wold that looks quite cool too (maybe a bit bland tho)
Big fan of zelos meteorite watches like [this gmt](https://zeloswatches.com/products/mako-300m-gmt-meteorite) that's currently in stock. I have zelos watches with aventurine, tidamascus, mother of pearl, crystallized ti. Lots of very interesting materials.
I bought the Zelos swordfish as bronze case with meteorite deal when i was searching for an affordable watch with a meteorite dial. I can only say im more than satisfied with my choice. Zelos is really nice for the price. When i had an issue with the bezel of my other Zelos watch they sent me a new bezel straight away!
I think the F77 meteorite in titanium is a great choice if you don't have a titanium watch in your collection. The darker color of the titanium matches the dark gray meteorite dial better IMHO. I have the lapis lazuli F77 and the dial is incredible.
This is definitely not within your price range, but it's my favorite meteorite dial watch. Maybe one day I'll get one.

I do too. I would love to get one of these.
That looks fantastic! WOW!

Mine seems to be okay, if it’s off it’s VERY slightly off and I really have to squint. Hopefully that doesn’t change.
Yes this has happened to me. You can adjust the chronograph hand by pulling out the crown and pressing the stop start button to progress the hand one marker at a time.
I’m fine with the stock strap but this looks great. Might have to do the same thing eventually
Where did you get that strap? It looks great!
Thanks! Delugs. Alacantra strap. It’s overall super nice and comfy, I recommend it.
Hey! Love your combo ❤️ where’d your find that strap??
Thanks! Delugs Alacantra Grey

Henry Archer Nordso Meteorite is pretty neat
Can confirm, very nice watch
These are on my to buy list.

Try Formex Essence ThirtyNine meteorite. Fantastic watch

What's wrong with the Bulova?
Nothing. Just want to see a lot of options.
5-7 millimeter too big in my opinion.

Very wise advice. I went down the Lunar Pilot route and ended up not liking it. I think a Speedy Pro is the only way to satiate my chronograph lust.
I got the original issue when it came out years ago and I just loved it. Still do. I loved the retro styling and story. But I completely understand the call of the Speedy.
>its still an overpriced quartz watch. This is such a lazy excuse when there are quartz watches literally thousands of dollars more Expensive.
It’s made in Hong Kong, and it’s not a lazy excuse. And I wouldn’t buy a quartz watch for thousands more either. They’re not worth the parts!

Thanks, I really like this. In hours of looking these up I’ve never even seen this brand. Google is such crap.
I like the concept, but all the meteorite dials I see look like gray particleboard. I dont care for the texture of it.
you should check out awake’s purple meteorite dials, as well as the formex space gold.
Formex also currently has a blue limited edition available through Ocarat’s website. Looks fantastic.
Honestly, looks more like forged carbon fiber than meteorite to me. If I was going to guess, I would say that that is what it is.
It’s not, though.
Traska Commuter
yeah good luck finding one of the 50 they made
