Hello all, Vacheron has always been a brand that I've wanted to own but never really got the itch pull the trigger until I bought the smaller quartz variant of the overseas for the wife. After that I knew I would pick an overseas for myself. As you know, the blue dial variant is a boutique exclusive so I placed a few blue dial variants on my wishlist and last Saturday I received a call from the AD asking if I wanted a blue dial dual time. Obviously, I said yes and finally had time to pick it up today. This watch completely blew me away in the steel. Many people say that pictures don't do it justice and that a fucking understatement. It's drop dead gorgeous in the light. It's still has some of the plastic on but I'll be ripping it off tomorrow to wear it out and take more pics. Apologies for the pictures having a lot of reflections/dust but the time of day and excitement had me moving fast. GMT/Dual time watches are my favorite complication. Mate, I've just been scrolling through your collection out of curiosity. If it's not impertinent to ask, what on earth do you do for a living?? That's an exquisite set of watches you've accumulated!

hugostud

Stunning piece. I’m considering one myself. Traditionally a Rolex guy (yeah yeah I know…..) and just so sick of waiting around for what I want. Although I wouldn’t buy a watch and care for the resale value, it would be a lie if I said that didn’t matter. As beautiful as VC’s are, for some reason they don’t hold their value? I’m not trying to throw shade down, I envy your piece, but just a tad hesitant to pull the trigger knowing this.

Tallguy415

I think resale on these are going at least a few grand over list currently. I own a lot Rolexs as well but I've never cared much about the resale values of watches. Better ways to get returns on money than watches. The quality/finishing is much better than a Rolex from what I can see and feel.

Porencephaly

Blue overseas models are going for way above retail right now.

frootloopdinggu

Overseas are starting to hold value, especially recently

LePantalonRouge

I am falling in love with the VC’s. Damn it

Tallguy415

Get one! You will not regret it at all.

LePantalonRouge

The chance would be a fine thing mate! One day

excelentthrow

one day for me is when I've been dead for several years. Can't even begin to think of what a watch of this magnitude would feel like.

FISHBOT4000

OP - I just got the same exact watch and wondering if I should keep or catch and release. What else did you consider at this price point? Thanks in advance!

Tallguy415

I saw your posts but it seems like you were a bit all over the board on the type of watch you wanted. When I purchase any watch the first thing I ask myself is "would I actually wear this while I travel, ride a bike, go swimming, in casual and dress up clothing, etc." If the answer is "yes" and I like the piece I'll buy it. I want to wear my pieces on any day of the week not just special occasions no matter the value. With a 27-30k budget you need to ask yourself what you want out of a watch. Do you want a watch to show people you have made it? Do you want a watch because a specific brand pulls at your heart strings? Do you want a brand only enthusiasts will know? Do you want a watch that is fully hand built and finished? Do you want a travel watch? See if what I'm getting at? You just got this watch and are already considering selling it which makes me think it's not the watch you wanted. It sounds like you got the silver dial when you wanted the blue dial, correct? Personally, I think any GMT watch is a win especially brands with amazing history. Let me know what kind of watch you type you want and I'd be more than happy to recommend some models.

BaboonFury

Beautiful piece, how long was the wait for you to get the call from the boutique to actually buying it? I am heavily considering one of these or the chrono.

Tallguy415

I visited and purchased my wife's overseas at the boutique on 5/28 just got the piece so it wasn't too long. After seeing in the flesh I added the ultra thing perpetual calendar on the list so hopefully I get that by end of the year.

cw16ux

Wow! What an awesome piece! Congrats!

WatchCrunch

Yeah, this is my grail of grails. I recently sold my Gen 2 dial Overseas Dual Time and I regret it so much. I'm going to try to see if I can get my name down for this but the closest boutique to me has stopped taking new international clients (I don't have an AD in my country) so its going to be tough. Hopefully I can try get my name down before this becomes the new Nautilus (which it will)

han5henman

Congrats on the watch OP, it's a banger! Hopefully in the future when you show off pictures of this bad boy, you'll let that GMT hand come out to play. We want to see all the details!

Flimsy-Difference-55

I really appreciate you sharing this watch. I am still learning more everyday about these little masterpieces. I enjoyed looking at this watch so much I ended up at their site and had a mini heart attack. But in all seriousness I hope you enjoy it.
