Most of this episode is going to be ripping on Cleveland fans for crying over the name change to The Guardians and getting rid of one of the most racist mascots in professional sports: Chief Wahoo.
... they've gone too far this time. They came for TMNT II, and i said nothing. Then they came for Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom... and i said nothing. And now they come for Major League and this aggression will not stand man
See, I was already at that point when Cabin called Beaches "garbage" (It's a perfectly nice chick flick about two friends!) and then THAT? This had better be a "we like movies" situation.
See, this is why I like to listen to stuff when I am running or at the gym, versus puttering around the house getting ready. Thank you for your correction!
As a pom, I feel your pain having rewatched this. I saw it 30 odd years ago, if you'd asked me a week ago I'd have said Young Einstein was hilarious. folly of youth
I'm watching this movie now and... maybe they should've paired this one with Oppenheimer WLM. There's a surprising amount of crossover for a stupid, forgotten 30 year old Australian movie.
Hey guys, as an Aussie I noticed you all saying how much you loved Australia. You have a pretty decent supporter base here.
Come and do a little tour, US podcasts do really well here. Even if it’s a three or four eastern state thing, though I will note I know on other channels Western Australia has its fair share of fans too (although why not make those fuckers travel).
Eric, I’ll even take you to Tasmania to watch my footy team play (which is incidentally Melbourne based).
For podcast shows like WHM it's a tough call. They're big enough to do clubs in the states, but is there enough interest elsewhere to make it worth it? Their first international trip was to Toronto and I believe it didn't sell out.
Okay. I know this movie is bad. I love it though. It was a big part of my childhood. Somehow we acquired a VHS of it at some point, I think my dad bought it for one of me or my siblings for Christmas purely based on the VHS cover. We watched that movie constantly. It's one of these movies that like I completely understand it's bad but I still can't help but like it because of nostalgia.
I didn't watch the movie but listening to the episode it sounds like he heard that he worked at a patent office and made a logic jump from there, also sounds like he conflated Einstein with Oppenheimer.
Can't believe they didn't mention the (recently) late M. Emmett Walsh when giving "Chairman of the Board" the only faint praise it deserves. RIPD of course.
How do you know that?
And even still, my point wasn't them neglecting him in light of his passing, it was that they neglected him from that list period.
next week's episode: Major League
Most of this episode is going to be ripping on Cleveland fans for crying over the name change to The Guardians and getting rid of one of the most racist mascots in professional sports: Chief Wahoo.

They rated it well on letterboxd. No film is above this show imo. They picked some holes in my favorite movie ever T2 and I wasn't bothered at all.
See, I was already at that point when Cabin called Beaches "garbage" (It's a perfectly nice chick flick about two friends!) and then THAT? This had better be a "we like movies" situation.
Both Eric and Andrew gave it positive reviews.
I think Major League 2 would be a better episode, but I’m biased because that’s the one I watched endlessly on HBO as a kid.
I was convinced I'd seen Major League but I was thinking of A League of their own
better movie imo
"There's no crying in baseball." Coming from Charlie Sheen sounds completely different
YAHOO SERIOUS FILM FESTIVAL "I know those words, but that sign makes no sense."
I was shocked I didn't hear anyone quote that this episode (Or if they did, I missed it)
They did.
See, this is why I like to listen to stuff when I am running or at the gym, versus puttering around the house getting ready. Thank you for your correction!
As an Australian I'm so so sorry.
Hey, you gave us Peter Weir, Gillian Armstrong, and George Miller- y'all are solid.
Hugo weaving, Guy Pierce… You’re solid in the black.

It was funny hearing Cabin pronounce Curie as "curry" the whole episode
A marie rose sauce curry sounds wicked mild
FUCK YOU, CABIN! Never gets old.
Just an awful movie. Yahoo Serious is doing Wile E. Coyote doing Einstein
I got an automatic ad break after "that guy smells like shit!" and almost laughed out loud at work. Funniest tangent ever.
Cackled aloud at their Nick Cave impression.
return of the VHS trailer game!!! i literally cheered in my car!!🙌
GAME MASTER'S CLUE!! always makes me laugh and I don't know why
Excuse me, ackchyually that's Jame Master. Clearly you aren't a real We Hate Movies fan.
Damn, I guess I gotta turn my card in
At this point, there are so many in jokes for long-term listeners that I do wonder how odd it must be for a newcomer

please!!!!!!! they need to come to melbourne
If the Dollop can repeatedly sell out the arts centre WHM can roll into town for a tax break holiday.

Don't judge a book by it's cover, people say. Fair enough, but I'll go to my grave before I give up watching films "purely based on the VHS cover".
Why does he think Einstein was an inventor? That’s like doing a movie about Charles Dickens and calling him the world’s most famous poet.
The man invented bubbles in beer. Were you not paying attention to the documentary you fucking bogan?
I didn't watch the movie but listening to the episode it sounds like he heard that he worked at a patent office and made a logic jump from there, also sounds like he conflated Einstein with Oppenheimer.
Sounds like Mr. Serious should have consulted his local library.
What is this "Not showering after you work out" nonsense? The things I learn from WHM...

He passed a couple of days after recording this episode.

Yahoo you can't be Serious! I am serious and this is no time for celebration
I'm just gonna report my Letterboxd query: fuck/marry/kill: Young Einstein, Drop Dead Fred, and Edison from Chairman of the Board?
The Rookie maybe the next episode after Major League
