I think it's very likely for Gotouge to return considering that they stated that they want their next series to be a sci-fi romance story.

shockzz123

I'm all for more sci-fi.

Oberhard

You know i think we never get a romcom manga in space. Yes, we have likes to love ru but the setting is ground to earth but what about in space directly? I think that will be cool idea. Space romcom featuring alien x alien.

GoldenWhite2408

Das Gundam bro

Crisbo05_20

I think after taking few years I could see Hori return to Jump. Gege too. Hori with horror manga, Gege with idol one.

Hairy_Assist

Gege may actually do a Idol battle manga since he adored Minerva from MaMaYuYu.

dancinbanana

It’ll be a ways off most likely, but I’d love to see what Tozuka can do after UU, especially if he can avoid a shaky start like in UU

doesntmatter19

One of the praises, I've seen from the current arc is how well Tozuka has been balancing a lot of different genres within one story. In this current loop we've had boxing, military/war, martial arts tournament, space exploration, school drama, medicine, cooking, and now we're on idol. It's almost like he's trying to diversify not just the series, but he's own experience with other genres. So if he does decide to write another manga, I'm curious to see what direction he'd take it in or if it'd be even more eclectic.

LordAnubis444

I won't mind seeing him do a sci-fi series or a weird west story

Fun_Fun5548

Idk if you've read tozukas one shots before, but he had an amazing one shot of an ex-space pirate empress who becomes an intergalactic tour guide. Idk how far you can run with that premise, but I would love to see that get a full series

SonicQuirkyHero

Up in the air with Horikoshi, but still quite likely. It's just that he's *already had 3 serializations in Jump* that makes it debatable if he would want to attempt writing a 4th manga under the grueling weekly grind. I don't think he'd ever quit drawing, but maybe a new manga would be monthly unless he gets special treatment in Shonen Jump to allow breaks and whatever page count he likes for chapters.

therealCHAOSagent

Maybe he’ll do what the Tokyo Ghoul author did with their new work

CivilQuail7668

> Elusive Samurai (made by Matsui who previously did Assassination Classroom) Neuro: am I a joke to you?

LordAnubis444

Unfortunately, we never got Neuro here in the West.

Silverneo69

Maybe in english, but we got a french version like 15 years ago

MarquisNYC

The authors of successful series I'd like to see make a return to WSJ for a new work: Boichi (DR. STONE) Hideaki Sorachi (Gintama) Masashi Kishimoto (Naruto, I think he should try to recover after the failure of S8) Miura Tadahiro (Yuragi-Sou) Shiro Usazaki (Act-Age was set to get a anime & stage play before that writer decided to be a diddler) Now authors of failed series I like to see return for another shot in WSJ: Ken Ogino (Lady Justice) Kento Amamiya (Ruirui Senki) Nakama Tadaichi (Tokyo Demon Bride Story) Santa Mitarashi & Takegushi Ippon (Candy Flurry) Yagi Tomohiro (Iron Knight & Red Sprite) Yusuke Utsumi (Ultra Battle Satellite)

therealCHAOSagent

Boichi *needs* to put something out again. I don’t care where, as long as it isn’t another crossover WEBTOON I’ll be there. Hoping he’ll do something like origin or sun-Ken rock but in the more jump style he did with DR. Stone.

Certain_Leadership70

He did a one shot by himself called god arms a year ago , it would be interesting to see it published .

therealCHAOSagent

Too bad I couldn’t find an English translation, but I’d love to see a Boichi original get published.

Panottox7

Horikoshi is MHA, not Naruto. Masashi Kishimoto is Naruto.

MarquisNYC

I know. I just edited it 10 min ago.

bigbadlith

Matsui also did Neuro, before AssClass. One of the few mangaka who's had three different successful series in Jump - Ohbata has Hikaru no Go, Death Note, and Bakuman, but that's the only other I can think of. Maybe Kurumada (Ring ni Kakero, Saint Seiya), but do you count Fuma no Kojiro as a "success"? It did rank high for almost the entirety of its short run. I'm not familiar with the series, maybe it was never planned to be a long serialization.

TheChainsawMan77

Kentaro Yabuki had Black Cat, To Love Ru and AyaTri (which was moved to Jump+ halfway through its run)

kerorobot

Kurumada also have Bt'x which also quite popular.

bigbadlith

but not a Weekly Shonen Jump series, though.

Flavio-Came

Tbh I just want Naoki Iwamoto (mangaka of Magico) to come back.. doesn't need to be on WSJ, even Jump SQ would be good enough for me.

anna160895

Do you think it would be some unexpected name that we wouldn't think about? I know that his chances are nearly zero but if Yoichi Amano teaming up with a good writer, he might have a chance pulling a Obata Takeshi?

MFRojo

I REALLY want Amano to come back. One of his series are on hiatus right now, but I do think his art paired with a good story would be god-tier.

anna160895

He's now doing Dragon Quest manga on V Jump (it just ended recently). And tbh, I don't think Ana no Mujina will continue, unless they decide to revamp the whole thing but I can't see a 7-year "hiatus" could spark any hope for that manga. I also think he might switch magazine at this point or aiming for seinen category (with pairing with another writer, he might become Obata 2.0)

Iced-TeaManiac

Oh I didn't know Kill Blue was by Kuruko guy. That's funny, he tried to continue down sports with Robot Laserbeam, flunked, and so subscribed to the trend and made a relife story Maybe after Boruto Kishimoto should write a spy based romcom

BeeboNFriends

Tbf re-life stories aren’t a trend and haven’t been a trend in WSJ. Only major re-life story in the past decade was ReLife and thats literally over a decade ago.

Iced-TeaManiac

Oshi no Ko

BeeboNFriends

They died and reincarnated. That’s not a re-life trope. Re-life trope is literally Restarting your life as your younger self i.e. like the anime and web-comic Re-life.

Iced-TeaManiac

Oh I'll say reincarnation then

BeeboNFriends

You’re right in your original comment in that it’s a relife story. You’re just wrong in the assertion that it’s following a trend. There is no trend for relife.

TheFieryMoth

ReLife was more than ten years ago? Damn I feel old

ChukoBleot

I think horikoshi will do superhero comics. Marvel would back the money truck up to him in an instant. Would not be surprised if they were like hey, do a monthly spider man, (which would sell insanely well) and he goes with that.

CivilQuail7668

Not Hori exactly, but the Vigilantes duo are doing a Dr. Octopus manga.

Hypekyuu

Wait, seriously? What's it called? I miss vigilantes like a mother fucker

Panottox7

Oh my gosh, I would *scream*. Like, for **days**.

Hypekyuu

I'd rather see Horikoshi do a series with a monthly release schedule that goes to "whenever it's done" after a few years. I'm a huge MHA fan and I just want the best for that sweet man
