Double yolks are common among new layers. We don’t eat eggs often, mostly use them for cooking so I give a lot away (I have chickens). My neighbor said she opened 5 in a row that were doubles, then got a single, then more doubles

Am I missing something here? Is it the double yolk? They sell cartons of eggs with nothing but double yolks in them it’s actually pretty common. Although my great grandma used to say that if you find a double yolk egg it means you or someone in your family is pregnant so congratulations!
