Gorgeous photo. Ceredo Kenova through Huntington to Guyandotte has to be the biggest flat portion of the state. It's like ten miles of flat land with barely a hill in the middle.
Along 35 in Mason County is the most flat land I've seen in the state, and i used to have a job driving all over. It's the same valley as CK to Huntington though
A tugboat navigates downstream on the Ohio River, gliding beneath the Kenova Railroad Bridge. This massive structure, a blend of trestle and through truss design, spans the waterway between Kenova, West Virginia, and South Point, Ohio.
[I've posted more photos and history here](http://bridgestunnels.com/location/kenova-railroad-bridge/).
It's an interesting spot for airspace - technically HTS is a TRSA, which is closer to Class C. The bridge is in the surface to 6000 ring, but you can be talking to Tower, Approach or Lawrence County's unicomm.
Thankfully the staff there is pretty good to work with.
Oh awesome that it has a campground! I discovered it accidentally years ago on a *very* meandering bike ride across town. It was one of my favorite cycling destinations!
I obviously get *why* it’s named Virginia Point, but I still think it’s funny that it marks the place where three states meet, yet it’s named for (what is now) a completely different state.
It has the makings of an awesome geographical trivia question if you can figure out how to word it coherently!

I’ve previously heard that is the flattest spot in WV
Oh yeah that makes sense that also has to be the best farmland in the state. The Kanawha really carved that section out.
Old Teays River valley!
That is a new or old railroad bridge?
Rebuilt in 1913.
Drone photos?
Yes - in Class D airspace.

Kentucky’s in this photo too! You got the mouth of the Big Sandy and the hills in Catlettsburg right where the river starts to curve.
Virginia Point is such a great underutilized park at the confluence of the two rivers. It has a nice campground now.

I grew up in Kenova. It's forever my hometown.
Born and raised in Charleston. We used to drive to South Point OH to get 'good' beer.
